Middle Grade Magic Readathon Announcement | Round 5
Ooooh yes, I'm liking the new addition of crafting progress! 😊
Finally catching up on some BookTube! My mom is really into the Magpie Murders show and I’ve been thinking about gifting her the first book - though maybe they’re too similar? Idk
you should read Toriko! super underrated manga, and one of my faves
📚🍂
I read God of the Woods in September and felt the exact same way!
The Light House Witches was a 5 🌟
That’s great to hear!
I'm definitely trying to read some autumnal books...Strange Star looks really good. Spooky middle grade for whatever reason is so fun
I really enjoy spooky middle grade in fall. It is slightly creepy but also cozy at the same time.
I definitely save most of my witchy books for fall - especially the rom-coms that are very Halloween-y. It's fun to pick out a few seasonal things to read, for sure.
The leaves turning and the cooler air just make me want to read those witchy things!
I want to read The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches. I really want to love it as much as everyone else seems to.
Me too! Everyone seems to enjoy it.
I feel like I have to try Shards of Honor so that during one of our crafting sprints we can all collectively decide if we like them 🤣
ONE PIECE IS BY FARRRRR THE BEST ANIME OF ALL TIME!!!!!! ITS AMAZINGGGG!!!!!
I also thought animal farm was a good listen! Even though I have classics, but this one worked for me!
I'm so glad that I found your video today <3 this video really helped me a lot, not only saving my time and cost in finding the right books for my baby boy but you also given me more idea on how to parent my boy along his growing up journey.Thank you so much and looking forward for more video from you sharing about adoption, have a great day!
Death Note is flat out amazing. Did you ever continue it?
Totally off the topic of books, your nail color is beautiful.
Watching late but yay for reading books you’re extra excited about!! Hopefully I didn’t hype up Half a Soul too much lol.
I discovered your channel through this video. Happy Reading! 😎📚👍
ALSO congrats on the job!! 💗💗
you did so great with finishing things! I think my rock-bottom expectations for Two Towers helped because I was thinking I would hate the traveling way more than I did lol. Also I love Frodo so much that I am willing to follow him even with Gollum whom I hate lol
Katherine Center is such an auto buy author for me!
I’ve really liked a lot of her newer books.
I'm really interested in Not Quite a Ghost!
I liked the middle grade take on the yellow wallpaper story. It also got real enjoyably creepy towards the end.
I will definitely be reading some of these! 😩
I hope you enjoy the ones you end up reading!
After these I’d definitely try something like berserk, punpun, monster, or Vinland saga
I just finished Ruthless Vows. It was good! Counting Descent is amazing!
A Quiet Kind of Thunder is really good, hope you like it too! ❤
It sounds really good!
Congratulations on the new house, what exciting news :)
Thanks! We’ve been looking for a year so it’s exciting that it’s finally happening.
The Suffragette Scandal has been on my TBR for trying romance books for ages, I need to get back to it since you loved the romance so much!
I hope you have had / will have some new faves in April! I also really loved Poison Study when I read it but haven't reread it since. I need to continue the series though since I've been liking Snyder's books
finally catching up on some BookTube! hope your spring cleaning is going well. For the short stories you're not loving, maybe you can DNF individual stories in the collection!
Yeah I felt similarly about Lone Women! I thought the uncertainty was one of its strengths so when the creepy thing was revealed super early it was a letdown
When you finish Alebrijes, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
😻
I love Clint Smith's work! I came across it five years ago and like you really connected with his poetry even though his experience was very different from my own. The emotion behind his words was very relatable.
My April tbr will be all the books I put on a tbr but didn't get to in the last 3 months... I used to start too many books at once but watching your video I realized I don't do that so much anymore. I'm not sure if it's because I'm better about picking a book to go with my current mood, picking better books in general (thanks to Booktube), or what. I do have one that I started last year and never finished I need to pick back up (Snow Falling on Cedars) that has been glaring at me from my nightstand though.
I’m not usually this bad about starting a bunch of books. I think it’s been life distracting me recently.
I have a pile of books that I have started as well. I'm glad I am not the only one. 📚
Glad to hear I am not alone!
I discovered your channel through this video. Happy Reading! 😎📚👍
Thank you!
ok I'm going to have to come back to watch this in a bit but just wanted to say immediately I LOVE the theme for this TBR!!
Thanks!
This is so relatable! I have so many half-finished books - this is good motivation to tackle my stack. The Color of Compromise was a very informative, impactful book for me - I hope you're having a good experience with it. What rock am I living under that I didn't know there was a Happiness for Beginners movie?!? 🤣 My April reading is already spoken for but I may put this on my agenda for May.
Go tackle that stack! I have really been liking The Color of Compromise. Have taken it slow, because it is so much information, but I'm glad I am reading it. Happiness for Beginners was made into a movie on Netflix. I think it came out in the summer.
enjoying these check-ins, Kelly!
Thanks! I like the chatty format.
yes I don't like the split group part of fantasy books either! I think one thing that helped me with the Two Towers is that I went into it prepared to really dislike all the traveling and split group stuff, so by comparison I loved it ahh I'm so excited to hear your thoughts on Not Quite a Ghost as you continue!
I don't think Two Towers could get 5 stars from me because of the traveling (and the battles), but I still love the characters.
I am reading The Women by Kristin Hannah. I got this book from my local Library. I also have All The Sinners Bleed by SA Cosby checked out from my Local Library. I am also reading Heir Of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. It’s my own Physical Paperback Book. Sound like you have read some great books. Take Care & Happy Reading ❤️🤗🔰📖📕📚❤️
I hope you are enjoying all the books you are reading!
@@CozyReaderKelly - I have been - I can’t hardly put them down.
yay, I hope you like The Night Raven! I love Elatsoe!!
finally catching up on some BookTube! Threads That Bind is one I think sounds really cool too. that's awesome that you do days off with your daughters like that! and a bookstore is indeed an excellent choice 😁
book 1 of The War That Saved was excellent but book 2 really blew me away I'm so excited for Not Quite a Ghost!!
I remember you saying that about The War I Finally Won. Hopefully I can get to it this month. I feel like I'm reading super slowly.
I enjoyed Winterhouse. Also very excited to just start reading middle grade.
I hope you are enjoying the middle grade books you are reading!
Nevermoor is a fantastic series, great on audio. The 4th book is due out this year - finally after many delays... Not Quite a Ghost sounds so fabulous, it's not published in Australia yet though, and expensive to get from oversease at this stage. I might buckle. I read The Yellow Wallpaper last year, and loved it, I had never heard of it before somehow. A middle grade reimagining sounds wonderful.
I started Nevermoor and I'm really enjoying it so far. It's exciting to find a new fantasy series to dive into. The Yellow Wallpaper is an excellent short story, and I hope to like this reimagining of it.
I’m jealous that you get to experience Nevermoor for the first time this month 😅
I started it and I'm enjoying entering a new magical world.
The Mona Lisa Vanishes is amazing! 😊
That's great to hear!
Nevermore is so great and I really liked A Song for a Whale too! ❤
I'm in the middle of both of those!
You have so many interesting good books to read for next month. They all sound good too. I hope that you will enjoy them all if you get to all of them. I love getting books from the Library. I am reading Artemis by Andy Weir which I got from my Local Library. I have a book on hold called Heir Of Fire by Sarah J. Maas. Than I put another book on Hold called Savage Run by CJ Box. It’s the second book in his Joe Pickett Mystery Series. Take care & Happy Reading ❤️🤗📕🔰📚📖❤️
Did you end up liking Artemis? I have heard mixed reviews on that one. Hope you liked all of these!
@@CozyReaderKelly - I loved Artemis - it is my all time favorite book for this year. I could not put it down. ❤️🔰❤️
@@lindaklinedinst9236 that’s good to hear!
