You mix salt and add straight away ? I usually run mine 24 hours ?
Yeah normally leave it mixing for 1 or 2 hours and then as long as the salinity is correct it goes in.
Nice video😉, very tempted to get a the Fluval Evo as a second little tank or QT tank also 👌🏼
I love having it as a little experiment tank :-)

As much as your great behind the camera we saw very little tank, would have been good to see a proper look at the tank before you did a trim up, maybe showing the pipefish. The filming really needed to be on the tank not you with a hand in the tank. Not knocking you as it’s a great channel, some honest feed back for you to consider next time 👍 Edit…on reflection there was not that much hand in the tank footage

@Norfolk Reefer I've just read this, thought I would share it as you were asking about Gonis - "Do you dose manganese? If not I would start with that. They produce a mucus coating that needs enough flow to remove it but not to get blasted."
It's always the smallest misstakes that creates the biggest problems :D

You said diluting Pt2.. Pt2 is not the Alk, and it's not the one that causes potential issues with dosing lines. Pt2 is Cal/Mag which would mean you have diluted the wrong Part
Thanks for pointing this out! I thought I had read it was pt 2 that needed dilution! I'll have to get another container to dilute the pt1 now.
It will be interesting to see how that pH probe works with the APEX, do you have a link for it on Amazon please? I have been using Reef Zlements 1 and 2 for a while, I have not noticed a huge swing in my pH.

What size is your tank and what other fish do you have in there? I doubt I’ll get one for some time but enjoying the research on mandarins all the same. Beautiful fish!
My tank is a Reefer 250 (bizarrely 244L) I have 2 clownfish, 2 firefish, a flame hawkfish, a one spot foxface, 2 banggai cardinals, a yellow watchman goby, a royal gramma and the mandarin. I do love the Mandarin it is a really beautiful fish!
Have had those style Deltec skimmers and they're amazing. No bells and whistle likes other but in return very simple and easy to open up completely to clean, literally 1 thumb screw and it all comes apart.
They have an upgrade part that you can fit to clean the skimmer neck without taking anything apart If I remember correctly.
Why were fish not allowed to be purchased?
For sale of livestock the premises needs a pet shop license, its the location not the trader that is licensed, I could imagine if fish sales were allowed there would have been even more money spent!!!

BondIt high viscosity CA super glue on Amazon is nice and cheap, if you are too lazy to leave the house. Only thing with those bottles is they miss the metal pin that keeps the tube clear.

There's no I in Straton btw. While it was promising to see the Stratons there (after ATI and Nyos did a merger) I'm wondering if the current ATI distribution deal has to run its course before they move to Xodis AND if Xodis are able to supply the UK with them, it was never really clear why the current distributor never got these to the UK. Also would have been very helpful 6 months ago when I was buying lights 😅😅

Hi Jay, I've had 2 Gramma's, the first one was aggressive, not overly but to the point where it had a go at my foxface and lost, the next gramma that I have now, is so placid! I think the trick is to add it last, the first gramma was the 3rd fish I got.
