Business and life has been a little too hectic so I've had to put TH-cam on hold for a bit til I'm caught up and settled again. I only found your channel yesterday (...or the day before? ADHD, y'know?) and I'm enjoying a binge now. THIS one resonates in a big way. Long story short (we hope) : I've been in a 'freeze' mode for a good long time, now (years). A good friend died about 4 years ago. A year later, my beloved brother, who was my absolute best friend since he was about 2 years old, shuffled off. My partner of 20 years succumbed to cancer about a year later. My neighbor, and dear friend, died last July, and my friend of 20+ years, who lived in the apartment on the other side, died about a month ago. Meanwhile, I've been getting word that old friends back home are leaving the planet as well. I've been depressed, for sure, and nearly completely unmotivated. BUT - O frabjous day! I feel myself rising the last few days, and today is the best yet. I'm starting to look around for things to do, and struggling against the ADHD freeze. You know, "Start here. OK, I can organize these .. Oh, look! That need to be tidied...wait - over there - those things can be shuffled in with...these 8 other...LOOK! I wondered where that was! I can put that...SANDWICH!... I know you know. Meanwhile, my little dog has been a comfort, and he keeps me dedicated to his needs. I have no friends here (I'm 76) to help me with any of this, and it is huge. I hope to use your vids as a way to help with focus, and prioritize the mess I've let myself slip into. Thanks! Your own story has actually been an inspiration this morning. Be seeing you!

    I'm curious how ADHD differs between men and women. I don't know if I have adhd but people always ask me if I do. I do have big ass mood swings, one moment I want to meet up, the next I feel different and I don't, to protect others I self-isolate cause I drive people crazy. Can't make decisions really. It really has to do with how the society raise woman, how the society expect the parents raise their daughters and sons differently, cause in prior relationships I have never played cats and mouse and I felt like the man in my life tend to do that, there was this American guy I met in Dalian, and at the beginning when I met him through mutual friends I shown a lot interest but he barely talks to me and when I stopped talking to him due to the lack of response then he’s eager to talk to again, after a while I just gave up i have a lot other stuff to worry about

    • @KingD_self_improvement

      Yeah I'd agree with you there and sounds like you made the right call. A healthy relationship is one where one isn't chasing the other. It's mutual. Alot of people however, due to upbringing, don't know what a healthy relationship looks like. Or even what love is.

    The Ping-Pong balls in a tornado is exactly what it feels like sometimes. The moment you see one you want to (or need to) focus on, it's gone. While it'll come around again at some point, you've got to put a huge amount of effort on concentrating and often at the expense of everything else. In regards to listening to people, specifically those who know about my challenges, I find that it's easier to let someone know at the beginning that I might not be making eye contact and might be doodling in a notebook or fidgeting with something - that will actually make it easier for me to absorb what they're saying.

      That's a great video idea mate. I have had to break a fair few hearts in my time and some of which were amazing people. I think it's important to tell them what you liked/loved about them to cushion the blow. And just be as honest as you can. I'll stew over it some more. But definitely not good to drag it out too long. I've done that before too and that was more cruel to her than just ending it. Thanks for watching brother. Absolutely bang on there my mate! Another reason is women always have had more options but these dating apps make it worse. Most women on these apps just want validation and attention. When ive tried to set up a date, they end up ghosting or making excuses They are getting thousands of matches a day. Get off the apps and.... Go out and meet them and approach I prefer meeting women in the real world

    I'm starting to understand this mindset / phrase used correctly in face of challenges involving aspects that are clearly outside of our responsibility such as the emotional reactions of others when we are being respectfully assertive and reasonable in our boundaries. Their level of emotional intelligence and maturity basically "is what it is" in terms of their own entire life experience beyond our own life experience. Maybe a shared situation and certain levels of power... but not entire life experiences in unison of responsibility and that "is what it is" in the design. On the other hand, I try to avoid it as a copout for accountability such as... I could have studied more and passed the test but "it is what it is." Or more depersonalized / aimless with: I could have have a smoother job interview but was hungover.. life was just difficult..."is what it is" and gonna smoke a bowl now. Wisely choosing to use it when it really applies for sure lol.

    • @KingD_self_improvement
      @KingD_self_improvement 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You said it better than I did in this one. 😆 thanks mate. Yeah 100% shouldn't be used as a cop-out! If it's something within your control then you must take accountability. Nice one, mate.

  • @Astral_Dusk
    @Astral_Dusk 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Today has a lot more femanized men and masculinized women (often telling such men to "be a man" or the man complaining that his woman is too controlling) but the core hunter-gatherer tribal evolution of masculinity and femaninity require this empowerment to be more segregated among the sexes. The groups of men, the groups of women - to build their energy. I wouldn't say masculinity rite of passage has been stripped from Western societies (certainly strong in others ) but has gone soft in a sense, catering to other things and distracted... and it's dangerous to lack masculinity among men designed to build civilization and survive. Without the masculinity, there's less willpower, less drive, less fire to live beyond a mediocre cog in the machine. For straight relationships: Women want a masculine man, but only men can make masculine men among men. Men want a feminine woman that can only be made among femanine women. For a straight couple, a straight marriage - lacking these energies for both roles is going to be trouble, high risk of divorce, great struggle from the lack of these energies. The sex won't be so great, the lifestyle wont be very empowered, the communication will be full of insecurities. Just my thoughts to respect the evolution. No More Mr. Nice Guy by Robert Glover is a great book for guys struggling with masculinity, a lot of practical wisdom and ways to essentially open up to a more authentic masculine self that's been trained to hold back by a society gone soft in the masculinity departments, too much energy recklesslessly shifted away into other developments

    I am an anxious female and my ex bf was an FA, he broke up with me 3 weeks ago. He said he couldn't give me what I needed, but couldn't explain why it's as if he closed up and couldn't speak. I don't believe he wanted to hurt me as he said he was conflicted, then after I asked if he wanted to be with me and he said we should breakup, as he has things going on with himself.I felt blindsighted and I do miss him, but I also felt he had some internal struggles that he didn't open up to me about although, I tried to make him feel comfortable opening up. I wish I could reach out, but then I'm afraid it'll push him even further away. I didn't understand relationship styles until this breakup and now I have a better understanding, I wish I had known then what I know now so I can be better for the next man.I do appreciate your video as it helps me understand the FA style better.

    • @KingD_self_improvement

      Yeah sounds like he was very conflicted and definitely didn't want to hurt you. It's like a mental block that's difficult to even make sense of so equally as confusing for him as it is for you. I'm sorry you're going through what you're going through. I know it's tough and probably spun your head. The feelings were real but we just don't know how to maintain it without panicking and flipping that switch. There will be more on it anyway and will look into other attachment styles in time aswell. And thanks for watching.

      There's alot of reasons they'll make a nice guy wait. But that's possibly one of them, yes. "Nice guys" aren't usually seen as rough n tough warriors.

      I'd probably need more information to give you any proper sort of advice, but based on what you've said I'd just cut it loose and look elsewhere. If she comes back around then perhaps give it another go if its what you want, but with your previous mistakes in mind. I got my email address on my TH-cam page thing now.

    Hi mate. I wanted to ask most if not majority of women still want the man to make the first move and as men we have to initiate all things in terms of courtship Has a women ever made the first move with you? Its usually low value women that do anyway

      Yeah majority definitely want the man to make the first move n that's how it should be. She just gotta make sure it's known that it's OK to and make herself available to be approached. Yeah lots of times 😆 it's usually a bit of a red flag. Once in a blue moon it's just cos you do it for her. You stand out to her.
