Hi everyone,
What a great memory! This speech was part of the ceremony for internal medicine residency graduation at BronxCare Hospital, NY, USA; class 2021.
This video is a results of combining multiple videos that unfortunately had poor quality; both video and audio wise. I enhanced it to the best of my abilities and added subtitles to help with watching experience.
This is to have a record for such a memorable day!!

مرحبا، بعد الحصول على مقابلات في امريكا، في أي فيزا راح اروح ؟ يعني ال program director راح يعطيني فيزا J1 او H1 او اني لازم اروح بأي طريقة الى امريكا ؟ ممكن توضيح

طيب أنا طالب في رابعة وقربت أخلص بس منزلتش مستشفى قبل كده انا دلوقتي بحضر ل step 1 بس أنا حابب فكرة إني انزل مستشفى أتعلم شوية skills زي ناس كتير من زمايلي وفي نفس الوقت مستني الاجازة عشان أزود رتم المذاكرة للمعادلة وكمان ابدأ أخد خطوات في فكرة ال research
فهل اكنسل حوار المستشفى ده ولا هو فعلاً مهم اني انزل واتعلم وخاصةً اني عاوز اكون في فترة الامتياز بشتغل وبجيب فلوس
انت عايز تسافر و لا عايز تستنى في مصر؟ لو عايز تسافر يبقى اعمل research و جهز المعادلة.

Dr. I was wondering If the Egyptian medschool grades affect the matching because my first and second years weren't the best at all and my grades were so bad and low. And I'm quite unsure and stressed to take that path and end up with nothing. So plz tell me and if there is any advice that would help, I will be glad to know it.
School grades have a very minimal effect, if any. If you have super high scores during med school, this will be something that you may discuss during interviews. Generally speaking though, they are not at all important. Best of luck!

I think it's too early for USMLE at that stage. Probably best to get involved in research. It also depends on the career goal.

هو ال physician scientist track ممكن نحصل عليه من ال match انا كنت سمعت أن ده متاح الامريكان بس؟
لا هو بيختلف من بروجرام للتاني .. هنا باتكلم على التراك اللي بتاخد نيابه و درجه علميه في نفس الوقت و ده قلييل جدا و فعلا في بعض الأماكن بتشترط ما تكونش على فيزا و كمان عاده بيفضلو يكون فيه خيره بحثيه كبيره قبل الماتش اصلا. مش ده اللي بتكلم عليه. ال Physician scientist track اللي أنا بسعاله هو بكل بساطه اني اكون طبيب معايا دكتوراه و البورد الامريكي (كل حاجه فيهم مستقله عن التانيه) بحيث اني أقدر اكون استاذ جامعي العقد بيسمحلي اني اعمل ابحاث ٤ ايام في الاسبوع مثلا و اشوف العيانين يوم او يومين بالكثير. ده بيتطلب اني اكون معايا دكتوراه أو ابحاث كتير و كمان اكون مخلص نيابه .. بس ميزته أن بيكون عندي المقدره اني امزج ما بين البحث العلمي و الرعايه الطبيه بعد ما اخلص النيابه و ده حاجه ممتعه جدا بالنسبه لي

اسئلة يعني انا ابحاثي اللي اعملها في مصر ممكن تؤهلني للحصول علي الجرين كارد ؟ وهل ممكن احصل علي الجرين كارد وانا في مصر ولا لازم اكون سافرت امريكا علي نوع فيزا مثلا J1 research? مسافرها في حدود كام مثلا؟
اه ممكن ابحاث عملتها في مصر تؤهلك بس لازم تكون ابحاث ليها طابع عالمي مش حاجه خاصه بمشكله محليه في مصر .. مثلا أبحاث السرطان تنفع عشان دي مشكله عالميه موجوده في امريكا و كل الدول، لكن ابحاث البلهارسيا مثلا مشكله محليه لا تنطبق على امريكا. ممكن نقده Directly من مصر من غير ما تيجي بس خلي بالك أن ده Green card يعني فيه نيه واضحه للهجره .. فبالتالي اللحظه اللي قدمتي فيها عليه انتي بقيتي غير مؤهله اني تقدمي في المستقبل على اي فيزا بتشترط انك ما تكونش عندك نية الهجره زي ال F1, J1, B1/B2 و بالتالي التقديم من برا امريكا Risky لان لو اترفضتي يبقى خلاص باب امريكا اتقفل للابد الا لأنواع قليله من الفيزا زي ال H1B التكلفه غاليه الصراحه بغض النظر جوا أو برا مصر .. المحامي لوحده ٥٠٠٠ دولار على الأقل غير ٣٠٠٠ مثلا مصاريف اخرى

@@nadaelbarbeer453 اه دي خطه كويسه في ما عدا إن ال J1 visa لازم لازم لاااازم ما يكونش ليها 2 year requirement لان ده هيمنعك انك تقدمي على جرين كارد .. اي نوع فيزا ينفع سواء F1, H1B, O1 أو J1 without 2 year requirement. يفضل كمان لو ليكي بعض الأبحاث في امريكا عشان بس ال Recommendation letters اللي بتحتاجي تاخديها للجرين كارد

@@nadaelbarbeer453 فيه و فيه .. لازم تسالي و تعرفي من الاول .. اي حاجه واخده تمويل حكومي من مصر أو امريكا عاده بيكون لها 2 year requirement و لكن فيه اختلاف واسع On a case by case basis ففي الآخر انتي محتاجه تسالي ال Program coordinator أو ال International affairs office و تتاكدي ما نوع الفيزا ال J1 اللي هما يقدم لك عليها و هل فيها 2 year requirement و لا لا.
