@@650thunderbird Yes! Very observant. I am the 3rd owner of this guitar, I bought it off an old school mate in 1993. He tinkered with the idea of adding a single coil, had the the space made, and then at the very last minute changed his mind, and this is the end result.

At one point, I was identifying the members of the band on the front cover of the album. Greg Macainsh, Freddie and Bongo are all clear cut, but I now recall that I never could work out which one was Red and which one was Shirley (of the remaining two). It seems to make sense that it would be Red carrying a guitar case, even if the picture doesn't really look like Red. And I guess the big smile and thumbs up is a bit more reminiscent of Shirley, so I probably mixed up the two in the video (and Red was a bit more snarly than smiley, for most of his life!)

try using a metronome is this tune an old blues number or just a jam tab of some flavour ...can you just play through a whole section then talk as its a bit boring with a bit to much talking and not enough actual guitar playing son.
My whole reputation is built around gasbagging incessantly and boring my viewers to tears. It is a hard earned reputation.
@@trioguitar good one can't argue with that but please a bit more guitar between the chat might enlighten as we're left guessing what the tune is supposed to be. as it doesn't flow two bars are never enough to feel the beat but eight bars as a bare minimum you or we could see more of where it's going melody wise,as a blues tune or any tune. it would be much quicker to get it into muscle memory as well. to get that flowing coordinated feeling within your fingers. when i'm learning a new tune and I have the tab and original recording I always try whole sections never little bits I find the details will come easier that way. and never go for perfection just a basic foundation the first few hours memorising verse is hard I always leave that for last ugh lyrics nasty nasty... byetheway sorry for the rant

Very interesting. I went through grades 1 thru 7 in1969 to 1970. It could be very dry at times so I don't remember much of it. I found trying to play songs I liked to be more useful. Peter Paul and Mary had useful books where you could play with the record. Most songs otherwise I had to figure out from piano music with the chords. Learning is so much better today.

You must be a really good jazz player. Mel Bay was good on chord theory. I play folk or acoustic music and can read enough music to be dangerous! Ever hear of Kate Rusby? I like her music a lot.
