If they built one filming tower in the center of that track you could film the whole race and make a pretty good show.
Such a lovely day for the races. Thank you for sharing.
Such an exciting race, thank you for sharing!
Good Video . Great Sport.
What a delightful mix of wildly different machines. So cool!
What’s the name of the song at 42 minutes? It’s beautiful!
New Bike Day!!
As a Frenchman it's sometimes a bit hard to understand but still a good laugh.
Congratulations on your win and continued good luck with your new bike!
Great keeping up with you all in the UK say Hi to Russel for me!
What a beast! Great Bike.
Congratulations 🏆 Beautiful bike 👍
Congrats on the victory, I hope you are pleased with the new bike. :)
Which planet was this filmed on, I couldn't quite identify it from the opening sequence?
This is delightful, highly enjoyable. If you watch with the sound muted it almost has a Monty Python look to it
😎 good stuff brother
Very good and very interesting. How many of them are using the Bikes also for commuting? Ist there an Event calendar? Its fun. Regards, Franz
😎
The first round was split into three groups in order to test 3-way merging of results in the new timing software. We'll need that for the WHPVA championships in August, so it made sense to split a short race into three groups as a test. Andrew Sidwell was in the fast group so that he and I would be in different races so there would be someone to work the timing computer. (This is why I sometimes end up leading the slow race.) Love that long shot of Twed and Simon Watson slowly catching up! Sunday's conditions really were atrocious. My fingers got so cold packing up the cables for the sprint timer that I was struggling to work my gears and brakes. Naturally the weather improved about an hour after we finished.
Every time I lose a race I celebrate by awarding myself a trophy for winning the slow race.
Your videos are so good!! Thank you for making them!
Yep, the upright should have been in the fast race.
Looks good!
Awesome video and a great commentary.
Impressive improvement in performance by the Foreys with the new fairings. I couldn't keep up with Jemma.
Another great video David!
Great footage, thanks for putting this together. I was the yellow Speed Ross in the slow races, really enjoyed the day.
That Vulcan velomobile is a beautiful machine. Thank you again for sharing your very enjoyable videos with us.
Yes, I like the comets - so fast!
The gusting crosswind made the corners extra-scary for faired and part-faired riders. I think it was causing Jemma problems with her flexible fairing.
Il tourne encore bien ce Zockra, David ! 👍💪
oui, meme après tout ce temps. Je n'aurais jamais été si vite sans ce vélo donc encore merci pour le vélo :)
@@LordHostis j'y suis pour rien 🙄 😇 s'il va si vite... C'est pas grâce à moi ! 🤭 😂
The narrow finish line was a last-minute bodge to ensure that all riders passed in range of the single small RFID aerial, as the crate containing the cables needed for the normal ones (and the race clock) was with someone who didn't turn up. I will be taking custody of all the timing kit in advance of the Worlds to ensure this sort of thing doesn't happen. The muti-trike 'Hedkayse' wasn't placed because we learned they were swapping riders during the race. I rode a lap on it and can confirm that it sadly doesn't have any electric assist! It's a lovely fast track. I think I set a personal best for a BHPC race. Amazing to see the speed differential between you and Snoopy/Beano in that footage, they were really flying!
Yes that track is really fast. The velomobiles / streamliners will be flying here at the world championship.
I must say that you are really fast on your bike... passing many velomobiles during the race
Thanks, the bike is always only half of the equation
As entertaining and exciting as always. Thank you, David, for all that you do. BHPC races are the best!
Glad you like them
Save watts my friend, shave your legs.
Maybe that will help. I have never seen conclusive evidence and that's annoying to do.
My favorite utube channel........ 55 yrs old and still hope for going fast/aero.
Thanks, using a very aerodynamic bike helps
Always looking forward to watching your videos from BHPC races!
Thanks, there is another one today
The question is though, were you lapped simply because the streamlier is faster or is the rider also alot stronger
I do think the streamliner is faster even though I am probably a bit stronger, but that's just a guess. Maintaining cruising speeds of around 55-60km/h like they do with streamliners is nearly impossible to achieve for a "normal" fit rider not using some kind for aerodynamic fairing.
Thanks for the videos. The photography and comments are really very entertaining and make for an easy to watch video
Thanks for watching
That speedo on the lower left of the screen is subtle and easily missed, but wow, you were flying. It seems that your command of the English language is only matched by your speed on your bike.
Thanks, in bath I was actually not fast enough to get ahead of the unfaired category
20 minüteen späterrr.
Slash will win the race, surely that must have been a shock! 🤣
Sometimes he does not win, :) In Darley Moor he was actually only 2nd in the one lap time trial
Great video as per usual David. I had 'lid-attachment' issues all weekend - you can see at 5:32 that it wasn't properly attached. I spent large parts of both races steering with one hand and holding the lid on with the other! Fantastic track, and great to have everyone racing together in some of the races :)
That must have required some skills
Lose the music. It has no purpose and makes it difficult to understand the heavily accented narration.
Hilarious! The reason I was on the handcycle was because I was one of several who crashed on the hairpin in the first race. I asked if anyone had something with more wheels that I wasn't likely to fall off...
I did not know that. That hairpin is really quite treacherous
So sunny!! Waiting for summer in France !

I love your commentary 🙂
thanks
Davide, thanks for mentioning Mike Burrows at the end . He was a pure genius and ive learnt so much from him.
That was a good Championship. I really enjoyed it from the outside and your video is always spot on to recap the events. Thanks.
I like the toolbox approach to the time trial start. Might try practising that myself. (Or use some double-sided SPD mountain bike pedals, as they seem a lot easier to clip in first time.) Not sure the BHPC are going to manage to arrange a steam train for 2024. Maybe just some coal... :)
