Great video! Was able to replace the alternator in my 2008 Mazda 3 in about one hour. One note, my alt bolts were all 12mm and the harness nut 13mm.

I have a 2019 Durangp GT. What is the hours spent on doing that? I tried talking to a mechanic on FB. Told him I would supply the parts which would cost me $250. He quoted me $400 in labor. Said it takes 4.5 hours.

I want to add a couple notes/tips in here as a mechanic myself: 1. A small pry bar works way better than a screw drive on removing these clips. It was super easy. 2. You can use a C-clamp in some areas of the part to put the clips on. On the bottom back clip I had to use a large pry bar prying off the metal fuel rail you can see in 2:53. For the other clips, a small plastic or rubber mallet works great. You could use your screwdriver handle in a pinch. 3. Before installing the new part, insure that the old gasket is off. The new part has a gasket pre installed. The old part left the gasket on the housing and didn't come off with the old part. 4. If the new part doesn't want to go on, check the terminals up at the top of the old part and compare it to the new part. You might notice that there is a piece of brass/copper colored metal on the part that's missing on the old part. That means that part stayed on the other piece that's mounted to the vehicle still. I had to pinch it with my thumb and index finger and pull it off before the new part would go on. 5. The wiring harness plug that plugs into the throttle body has a white "lock" piece that first must be pryed out to the left (leaning over the engine facing it) before you can push the actual snap lock down (black piece) to remove the plug. This is just a "back up safety lock" piece they use from the factory. He doesn't show it being removed in this video. If yours doesn't have it, it's because this part has probably been replaced before. 6. Get a can of throttle body cleaner with PEA in it (Gumout has it for sure) and use the entire can to clean the throttle body while you are in there. Good luck

can the rotor shatter when you hammer it like this? Do the rotors have any extra locking screw? They're rusted and I just can't get them off :(

And then the rotor FELL off. good lord how easy is that. I beat on the rotor, i added WD-40 trying to remove it from the hub. What a pain.

Why in the living HELL did Ford use 18mm, any metric for that matter, but at 1:05 you start using an 18mm. i have 5 or six sets of wrenches and sockets, etc.... not one of them has an 18. And 18 is not close to 11/16 and too small for 3/4. So, I hated it, but I used a MONKEY WRENCH and a 24" pipe with the wheel turned to allow me to use the pipe.

How to put the correct tension back in the belt when you put everything back together ?? How to know it's enough tension or just the correct one ?

Did you just add 6 quarts of oil😮. It only needs 4 litres or 4.3 quarts

Flexhead ratchet helps alot. You can change it without jacking the car up

Where can I find directions on doing this for 09 vw eos?

On the belt tensioner you can install a pin to hold it so you can apply the belt without having hold that in the remove/install position.

I kept having a P0304 code, replaced all 3 injectors on bank #2, still the same code. Went back in ad replaced the HPFP, then I started getting the P228C code AFTER replacing the HPFP. Is this now the fuel pressure sensor switch? No P228C code until after I replaced the HPFP.

I have a 2021 Acura ILX. I drained the coolant, and refilled. Using the spill free funnel just like you have. After I refilled the coolant, I burped all, at least I thought all, the air out, but I’m only getting very hot air on hi setting? If I go to 86, 85,84 ect…. I get room temperature air, not hot? Any suggestions?

No. Once you disconnect the negative (-) the chassis has no access to ground. The circuit is broken and can never spark.

There's an easier way to remove the alternator, remove the oil filter, it falls out the bottom.

I have a 4.6 v8 2004 f150. Can anyone please recommend what tools/extensions for this because everything I have isn’t cutting it for this job and I am starting to get royally pissed off

All you should need is a can-van 90 degree angle tool along with tools he described but to make the top bolt easier that tool is a lifesaver

on the pully itself is a hex bit .. is it the bolt underneath .. seems stuck
