    It took you 2 and a half minutes to say the word sponge after you showed it on camera. Kinda sad that you needed to stretch that out to hit the almighty 10 minute mark. To the endless bottom of my "happily blocked jackasses" list you go...

    It‘s still normal to keep your army rifle at home in switzerland 👌

    It is not a Schmidt Rubin The weapon was based on the Schmidt-Rubin system further developed by Hauptmann Furrer and was manufactured in the Eidgenössische Waffenfabrik Bern.

      You're thinking of the K31. This is the K11 which does use the Schmidt-Rubin System

    For HF you can use two loading coils. One on the antenna and one on the ground/counterpoise. The bike frame will act like a counterpoise due to tires isolating the bike from ground. Adding a coil before attaching antenna ground to bike frame will allow both tuning antenna and counterpoise for max efficiency.

    I remember one guy used to do CW HF on his bike on his way to work. One day he was quite excited because of a rare DX contact. When he got off his bike all excited about his DX contact he realized he didn't remember going through the busiest traffic light... No more CW HF on bikes for him.

    Great work. Very interesting. I have the same antenna an has served me well. Interesting how the SWR was lower on UHF. 73 KC2WDZ

    Antennas don't ground themselves, Its a 1/2 wave antenna so it doesn't need a ground. Great video!

      Yes, thanks...good point. I realized I said that after I made the video, but it wasn't worth re-shooting, especially since I captured a contact on video! Much appreciated and glad you enjoyed it.

    I suggest swapping out that hand mic for the supplied ear bud PTT switch. Safer ride and you can hear the QSO better. You can check it out on my channel..

    That's just a rebranded touring bike with markup bro. You can see from the frame it's a surly touring bike.

    • @jeffreyvajda2557
      @jeffreyvajda2557 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, you are sort of correct. Like many military-issue items, this one is a variation on a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) Condor, and identified as the MO-93 Militarvelo in the Swiss Army. Unfortunately, after almost 100 years in existence, Swiss bicycle-mounted infantry is no longer, and these bicycles have been readily available on the surplus market for several years, especially in Europe. Only modifications I made, were the Brooks bicycle seat and the ammo can/saddle bag set-up on the rear rack. Appreciate your feedback, but there are plenty of videos and other resources online if you want to learn more about this amazing "two-wheeled tank." Also be sure to check out the MO-93's predecessor, the MO-5. Enjoy and take care, um, bro.

      Definitely not a Surly. They were not a company till 1998. Their first bike was the Rat Race AKA 1x1 which was a single speed. I've never seen one of their bikes with the seat stays bolting to the seat tube and having an integrated rack. The lugs are a similarity though. Back then this was a "mountain" bike!

      Great bike. I also have a bike mobile and use either a Baofeng UV5R or TYT MD380. I suggest replacing the hand mic with the supplied ear bud PTT switch. You can check mine out on the channel.

    It is not an Alpha boat, it is a PBR. An Alpha is short for Assault Support Patrol Boat. aka ASPB aka Alpha. Nice Model Though

    • @jeffreyvajda2557
      @jeffreyvajda2557 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply, and I'm aware of the distinction. I'm just referring to the name under which these are marketed and sold by the manufacturer, albeit historically incorrect. You can use a Y-harness to link the turret to the steering so when you turn the turret turns

    That was a terrific post. Very good ideas & tips. I bought one of these PBRs last year, but I have yet to run it, owing to inclement weather, the drying out of our local pond and the Covid 19 restrictions for getting around. While waiting for a break in any one of these, I've already added GI Joe figures, and weathered it like the ones I saw in Vietnam. Thank you for posting.

    • @jeffreyvajda2557
      @jeffreyvajda2557 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hope you've been able to run your PBR by now, and would love to know what GI Joe figures you used. I've seen many in this scale, but none that are Vietnam era.
