Catch Anything That Swims with Andy Bennett at Hayfield Lakes
Andy Bennett takes us to Hayfield Lakes for an in-depth look at catching everything that swims. During the autumn, you can enjoy fantastic days fishing by targeting species such as bream, skimmers, roach, perch, and hybrids, along with the chance of catching bonus carp. A great approach is to use natural baits like casters, maggots, and worms, paired with our Pole Mix Groundbait.
Andy targets a line at about 7 meters, fishing the pole, with a depth of around 6 feet. This area is productive and will yield plenty of bites as you pursue skimmers and bream, your main targets. He explains his feeding strategies, rig setups, and various techniques to keep bites coming throughout your session or match.
Hayfield Lakes is home to numerous silverfish that are rarely caught, but using this method can result in impressive weights, even during the colder months.
Thanks to Robin and Noelie at the wonderful Hayfield Lakes for their hospitality. If you're looking for a great day fishing for anything that swims, head over to the Adams Lakes for some fantastic sport.

Would you ever put mags in your bait feeder Paul ? Thanks
Thanks for that great video Andy. Really informative . Just what I need 😁
Great session Andy really enjoyed it
Great video Paul, many thanks for the insight
Fantastic video Andy, great to learn how you think when you are planning your next move.
Watched so many of these types of videos but this one I really enjoyed, great stuff.
Andy is a class Angler.
I'm fed up with the running commentary on how to set up rigs, how to make ground bait, what to use for baits etc etc I get it is good for beginners to understand how to catch fish But..
You can always fast forward that part, this video could be the first video someone sees so we always include that detail. :)
Are Hayfild lakes in derbyshire?
Hayfield is in Doncaster :)
@@BlakesBaitsMatch Thanks,There is a Hayfield near Glossop in Derbyshire
What are them pole pots.?are they new guru ones?
Yes, some new pots that Andy is using which Guru are developing :)
Is that the glebe in Northampton under ecton fisheries, I use to love fishing on the various Ecton lakes years back but now sadly it’s over .priced and a waiting list. A nice explanation video thanks
No, this is Hayfield Lakes in Doncaster :)
@@BlakesBaitsMatch Thanks
Hanging off ma chair again brilliant watch again mickey you've got this mate 👍
I wasn't going to say anything except usual great video and good content, however when Andy not once but twice got his 100mils mixed up with 50 mils I though i respond just in case there was a "Prize" for reacting. Andy, 2 scoops of Ground bait are a total of 800 mils and 4 scoops of Casters, Dead Maggots, Pellets and Chopped worm are 4 x 100 mils = 400 mils added to the Ground bait = 1200 Mils. not 800 mils. Easy mistake to make twice but we are all human after all. I wonder if there will be a response from Andy ? or his Camera man/editor ?. Watch all these videos and have to say the most regular reply's come from Alan Norrish (Fish on TV), David Wood (Bag up TV), Mikey Williams (Dragon Fishing),John Arthur and Joe Carrass. Thanks Guy's. We do very much appreciate it. Oh, not to forget James Atkins Fishing.
Well spotted... he was far too busy catching fish and wanted to get out there, but thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed the video :)
i could listen to you all day, great vid mate.
Glad you enjoyed :)
Great info Andy, wish it was a way as you make it look😂brilliant
Thanks 👍 he is a bit good that lad
Great video
4 lots of particles x 100ml is 400 ml not 200ml 😂
U will catch loads there's only your bait going in ,,😮
Because most likely filmed on a weekday when majority of fisheries this time of year are pretty empty through the week apart from the matches which keep the fisheries afloat. Plus fishing weekday when less pressure on the bank and they can film without being mithered it shows you the best way to get the best out the peg. You ain’t gonna watch if he didn’t catch anything. Andy’s going through what to do in a match scenario this time of year and how to get the best from it
excellently recorded and edited, plus Andy as informative as always. Bravo Blake's Baits camera guys and editors, Bravo Andy.
can I ask you Andy why you didnt use expanders over your ground bait? How would you change it if it was just silvers that counted?
Genius
Mr Bennett why is that you are the only one on the pool ????
Bagga. It best be great ive hust spent 45 quid lmao😊
Another excellent video. Engaging but also simple. You’ve really moved my fishing on and given me more Bankside confidence. Please make more of these!!!!!!
Thats fantastic, glad you picked up some great info on this video and others :)
Excellent video, lots in there for us to digest. May watch it again to refresh. Overloaded with adverts you may like too know
Great natural carp the color is so beautiful congratulations
Really enjoyed a few of the tips on this thank you
Brilliant video Paul learnt a lot from it thanks
Excellent video thank you. You explain all the details really well. Watched this with my 9 year old who’s looking to improve his fishing and this was perfect.
Great venue Steve really enjoyed it.2 yr ago I was fishing a lake in Lincolnshire and a lady was catching on chicken pea and bomb .I was certain I could catch on pole with better accuracy and did when I gave it a go and caught estimated 250 lb of big carp.caught again on another 4 occasions and thought I was on to something special with the chickpea.Gave it a go at s fishery neer home lodge farm ,had a couple of Earl indications and then foul hooked 1.Turned out it was rubbish on that day and my thinking was that chickpea would probably only work when the venue is used to chickpea being fed there.Good luck in all your up and coming qualifiers and big matches,Top Angler, Top bloke.cheers..
Some great tips there. I have not done much method fishing and never used maggots for bait on the feeder. How do you stop the maggots from squashing flat when you mould the pellets on?
Hi Chris. Because the maggots are dead and in between the layers of pellets they don't squash as much as you think they would. Have a go with them. One of the best hookbaits I think
Nice one Paul the way your fishing is great but most of the time the fish are not queuing up like that and we wait and use a stopwatch
Hi John, this is a special venue where you get loads of bites. If you look at the method feeder video we did at Packington on course carp this might be better suited to you
What, when, how and why all answered in another classy video. Cheers Blake's and Mr.P.
Glad you enjoyed it Steve!
A class angler & a class lesson for me & many more. Thanks Paul.
Glad you enjoyed it Steven

Glad you enjoyed it Nick
Great advice, Thanks Paul.
Glad you enjoyed it Kris
Nice one Paul cheers 👍
Great video Clear explanation and demonstration too Thanks Paul Ps why do the dye the water in the lake ???
Fishery pellets only here, they must dye them like woodlands that’s why the water is coloured 👍🏻
Think it stops algae blooms!
@@davep6286 Thanks Dave
Yes as Dave said its to stop the algae! Glad you enjoyed it Mark

Wow. The peg your on looks like an anglers dream.
Stunning!!,
Great video. All the detail was fantastic.
Glad you enjoyed it Keef!
I have one of those, clip on, top of the keepnet rod rest strips & I've cut it in half & reversed it so that the hooked sides are opposite each other for fishing the left & right margins & the fish can't pull the rod in over the sloping side. I leave a gap in the middle to use as another rod rest.🎣 I also "Junior Hacksaw" the middle rib out of my method feeders & melt the sharp edges smooth with a lighter.
Come to lakes I fish 🐟, ya can't catch fish if they ain't there or not feeding 😮
Great video, the pole roller set up method is the best i've yet. I live in the US, there are no flat banks on any venue I fish, invariably I have to wade out, otherwise I end up sitting above the water and too far back. Setting up the rollers is usually a bit of a nightmare because there is always a step behind you, any tips.
HI Andy, great video but confusing to a beginner like me. i have a few questions i hope you can answer them. Why did you choose to fish to your right and not on your left what made you decide that? when fishing hard pellets can you fish them over silt or is it best to fish over a hard bottom? Last question fishing hard pellet why choose a size 18 hook when you could use a bigger hook? Regards Alan Robinson
Never tried bomb fishing i always use method feeder with pellets or groundbait. Great video. I'll try this method next time i am out. Side question: Does anyone know why some fisheries have dumb rules like why a 20-inch hook length? If it breaks, the fish has more line attached to it, more lines to tangle birds, etc. Some fishery rules are so ridiculous, i think sometimes its the owners just puting them in because they can rather than any logic.
