I know that is a difficult question to answer. My hope is in Christ as my saviour. However I believe and know that reincarnation is true. It is not about having a 2nd chance. It is about having an opportunity to accept Christ in the first instance. Not until every created soul has the opportunity to accept Christ will the harvest and the final judgement take place. The fact is the common narrative is actually based upon a catholic belief that was put in place by a roman emperor named Justinian in AD 545 had the following anathema decreed. If anyone asserts the fabulous pre-existence of souls, and shall assert the monstrous restoration which follows from it: let him be anathema. (The Anathemas against Origen), attached to the decrees of the Fifth Ecumenical Council, A.D. 553, in Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, 2d ser., 14: 318). The then pope of the day Pope Vigilius actually did a ‘runner’ and was not present at that council. He was later arrested and imprisoned. Christ did not rebuke the reference to a prior life & judgement of the blind man as in John 9:2-3. He also seemed to entertain the concept as per Matthew 16:13-14. Christ also spoke of Elijah being John the Baptist Mathew 11:14 and Mathew 17:11. However many today including yourself quote Heb 9:27 A verse that I would say has nothing to do with reincarnation at all but rather the death and judgement of Christ. Heb 9 talks about the sacrifices that was the practice of Judaism and the sacrifice that Christ became in place of it and that it was not a recurring sacrifice but a single one off event. Having died faced judgement and because there was no sin in him was resurrected. Reincarnation is not a reason to put off accepting Christ as saviour but it should be used as an emphatic call of urgency to accept that gift of redemption. So I would encourage you as a pastor to take that approach rather than the absolute ‘NO REINCARNATION’. This would avoid the situation of encountering an individual that knows of their prior existence but actually needs to hear the message of hope. Otherwise, you may become a stumbling block. What I say depends on whether you can accept that no one Christian absolute and there are some errors, I hope you are not.
