I find it interesting that they used mismatched rests in a semi-final of a world championship. In the Reardon-Charlton match, Charlton eyes up the rest at 56:29. You'll notice that it has one of those cheap, white plastic rest heads. However, about six minutes later in the same frame, Reardon uses the rest from the other end of the table (102:23) and you'll notice that it's a proper brass rest with the black plastic feet. You'd expect something like that on a club table, but not at the Crucible! Kinda strange. Great video though. Thanks for the upload.

    • @vmax4steve524

Great upload. I enjoyed the music. You might want to pop the file into Audacity and slow it down a little bit. The voices of the KZEW DJ sounded a bit too high pitched to me. I lived in the Dallas area during this time frame and I don't recall any of the DJ's sounding like they did on this. Not your fault, the original cassette was probably running a bit too slow and now with more modern playback it just sounds a bit high pitched. Thanks again, I wish I had been there that night. I went there mostly during the 1972-1973 time frame. Great nightclub!

Reardon enjoying a twilight to his career in this final having been so dominant in the 70s. Steve Davies was to dominate the majority of the 80s. @David Robinson You'd be right, yes. I was born 23rd December 1969, the last week of the sixties and the year of the moon-landing. The 70s for me were fine, nice memories, but the 80s were horrible for me personally, a horrible childhood and bad memories, and it's only now that I've been able to enjoy the great music and movies and everything else from the extraordinary era now that times for me are much better. Nice to know another 1969er! Gerard Butler was also born that year by the way, (huge fan, Angel Has Fallen, Geostorm) a month earlier than me.
