WPL C54-1 RTR LC80 first crawl action in mini canyon
This is the WPL C54-1 RTR first real run on my favorite trail, the Hospital Mini Canyon. the truck itself is all stock except for the tires and motor
note: some of the video scene were slowed down 0.5x for a more scale drive. Some were at normal speed. it isn't really that far off since the shocks were tuned for a more realistic drive.

Does the counter rotating gearbox eliminate torque twist?

Looks like they changed it up a little bit, the 2 gears you hold at 0:57 are molded as one gear on mine. Also the plastic is not as white as seen on video, its a lot more yellow-ish. Maybe they saw that as a weakspot and fixed it.Quite impressive.

What motor did you put in it? It doesnt look like stock one. Thanks.
Its a 370 motor thats usually used on the wpl 2speed gearbox.. any 370 will fit in that gearbox.. it increases the control and torque of the car.. the stock motor just wont cut it. With the 370 motor, it will crawl better.

Any 370 motor would do.. the one i have here is something that i found in my toolbox of parts.. so i dont exactly remember where i got them.
Their new update to the gear box has changed that the gear has a additional shaft to it

This is a great fix! Have you ever repaired the stock plastic wheel hexes this way? My C24 rear hex is slipping on the axle. Do you have a link to the 370 motor you used on your C54-1? 👍
Yes.. that is also an easy fix.. kept the wheel screwed on the hex and pull it with the loosen hex.. put a dab of super glue and let it cure for 15 minutes and you're good to go..
Hi uncle, my name is Wahid, I'm from Singapore, thank you for the tutorial, I just added gluing with super glue to each gear iron rod so it's strong enough to climb 40 degrees.

Thanks for the tip! I have the same problem and was considering replacing the stock gearbox with the 2-speed gearbox, but I will try your idea first!
I still used the stock gearbox even after 6 months.. but i jusy swapped it with the C34 gearbox and put the C54 gearbox on my C24.. i love that gearbox especially with a 370 motor.

Hey mate what brand wheels and tyres are you running they look sweet .. 👌
They're wpl C34 wheels.. i painted the mid section in chrome.. tires are B36 kit tires

A high torque 370 motor from a metal single speed gearbox.. ones with the blue butt.. i love the smooth crawl with that motor
Nice men, i Love to See it shacking 😉 i am searching for a big Rig but i think 1/10 is to big for my Backpack. And 1/24 has to much Trouble at the trail. Did U Hit the trail with IT Kind regards Thomas
Yeah.. the stock shocks with shorten springs gave this truck that nice scale shaking effects on the body. I love seeing the body moves around on uneven surfaces and yes, i always bring this truck on the trails more than my 1/10 Axials since i love going around places and needed something that is not too big or small. This C54 fits right in between.

The crawl is good but not good enough.. the gearbox is probably a perfect ratio for portal axles.. im probably gonna swap it with C34 gearbox with custom ratio.
Hi, may check the front wheels loose when use finger to move them? There are a small gap, is it normal?
This is the stock axles.. and yes, they had a lot of play on the front inner knuckles that connects the dogbone joint but it works just fine and doesn't effect the performance. The only way to solve the wobbling problem is by upgrading the front knuckles to aluminium knuckles and metal universal joints. But i will make a video about some upgrade for this guy in the future that includes installing an upgraded knuckles and universal joint.

I have a RBR/C flat bottom 2 speed metal transmission. I wonder if it will fit without mods.
Since the dimension is almost the same as the C34 gearbox, i think it will fit nicely.. ive sold mine few months ago so i couldn't test or make some comparison out of it.. but i intended on swapping the stock gearbox to the C34 gearbox.. but i will cover that in my HOW TO video series..

Thanks! This also applicable on your wpl axle gear.. Instead of using superglue, you use red threadlock..

The new C54 rtr version had a new 280 motor specific only for this truck.. Even the gearbox is new..

Nice bro! Hows the gearbox? Can you compare the performance from existing gearbox for wpl and mn.
The ratio is better than one's on MN99s from what I see because I once own it a year ago but sold it off.. But in terms of performance, definitely this new gearbox is better since it almost has no torque twist at all.. But I will cover the other details on my next video that will be uploaded tonight or tomorrow.. The nex video will cover a more thorough review, comparison and running video.
