IDKWID !!!
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 15 มี.ค. 2021
IDKWID stands for 'I Don't Know What I'm Doing'. Besides being my mantra in life, it also sounds like a Doom cheat code, so we're sticking with it. I invite you to come absorb, discuss and enjoy the same silly stuff that I do. Or you can tell me how much I suck. Either way, conversation is the quintessential essence of human interaction, and I welcome it in any manner, shape and form. Oh, leave a like, subscribe if you want to, blah, blah, blah. It does help this channel out with the almighty algorithm, so I do greatly appreciate it.
There. Now you know what this channel is all about.

Excitebike (NES) - Full Playthrough
'88 wasn't just the Golden Age of Nintendo, it was the Golden Age of Malls. And the one at the edge of San Francisco called either Northgate or North Park (I forget which, or even if that's right, but it was something like that) would factor heavily into our lives for the next two years. When we went there, my friends and I had two major destinations. At one end of the mall, a Kay-Bee toy store stood on the corner of the food court, which itself extended to one of the auxiliary parking lots. At the end opposite Kay-Bee was Aladdin's Castle, which were the arcade kings of the shopping malls until well after the 2000s. If we had money, either saved by us or gifted by parents who wanted us to buzz off while they shopped, that was where we headed. But if not? Well, if not...
Remember how I talked about those old Nintendo demonstration units in the Punch-Out!! playthrough? What am I saying? Of course you don't, you didn't read it. So briefly, there were these demo units which held ten games and were hooked up to a single monitor. There's a plastic case where you can see the games up for offer, a button scrolls you from game to game, your selection highlighted by a red light. Two controllers are hardwired to the set for 2-player modes, and the individual games can be swapped out by technicians to demo other cartridges. Got that? Great. Now imagine ten of those, side by side, fused in a roughly octagonal shape, with one attached to a big screen for the newest releases on the opposite side. This monstrosity lay roughly in the center of the entire mall. And, this being well before the timed decks that would reset your game after a minute of play, you could, and we did, hang out and play Nintendo for HOURS.
Many, many of the upcoming playthroughs I first encountered at this glorious relic of gaming past. I never saw another one like it, and by the time we left California in the summer of 1990, it had been neutered by time limits. But it was glorious while it lasted, and Excitebike was one of the titles it introduced me to.
Actually older than Super Mario Bros., Excitebike was one of Nintendo's 'programmable' series, a collection of game which allowed you to create levels to a degree. Beyond that... well... it's a dirt bike racing game where you actually don't race anything except the clock. Truth be told, this is what I spent my 9th birthday money on, but I couldn't tell you why. It's okay, but there's really barely anything here. Both game modes go over the same 5 tracks. Selection B has opponent bikers, Selection A doesn't, and track 5 just repeats after you beat it for either. Actually beating track 5 is something I'd never done before now, so I'm going to go ahead and call Excitebike 'beaten', and no, the fact that I didn't do it on Selection B too doesn't count for this one; Pro Wrestling had the benefit of having different ending graphics, Excitebike doesn't. So other than another tally on my list, I say we move along.

Okay, here's another silly video set to music. I enjoy WOWS Legends, and I'm something of a teaboo when it comes to the Royal Navy (they really have the best-named ships), so I thought this might be a fun break from throwing RDO CTAs at you while agonizing if I'd rather do voice-overs or just write what I want to say in the description. Oh, and more music is on the way too, just have to finish ...

Well, I had wanted to do the rest of the All-Hallows' CTAs, but I was kinda stonewalled on Sisika Penitentiary. I enjoy picking fights with the law in Tumbleweed on the occasions that I feel like collecting a hundred dollar bounty and getting chased all over the map (hey, with no new content, I kinda have to make my own fun). Beautiful. Makes me sad every time i come across the poem. What a Grand Old Lady she was.

This is really good. It reminds me a little of Empires of the Undergrowth music or Ace Attorney ost

Mystic Quest is one of my favorite SNES games. I get that it's very cookie-cutter and basic, especially compared to its contemporaries on the same platform. But it's still a fun romp and MY GOD, the soundtrack is absolutely fantastic! Thanks for listening!

The artwork is, because I had no idea what to put there besides screenshots from Aftermath (which nobody would understand) or nothing, which... no. No I'm not just going to play a song over a black screen. The music, on the other hand, was created by a variety of talented individuals, none of whom I can name because I found these things 30 years ago when I wasn't too concerned about things like who created this.

Where can I find Teck?
The work that I've found by 'Teck', in fact, almost all of the game midis I have uploaded, can be found in their original .mid format at the VG Music Archive.
I lived in this game back in 1989-1990. And this right here is definitely my number one favorite track from the OST.
Thanks for uploading this! I've always thought that the organ that comes in around the 2:00 mark sounds like it's doing the stage 1 theme from Golden Axe

who's marc concepcion?
The person who actually wrote the MIDI. None of this is my work, I'm simply sharing it because I think these tunes rock and should be listened to and enjoyed.
@@IDKWID1 right, but where would I find them and their other stuff?
@@Eddiegames9 Vg Music Archive is where most of the original MIDIs came from. Now, mind you, the site is fairly archaic, and I don't THINK there's a way to search the MIDI artists by name. But if you go under NES, Mega Man 6, and find the Flame Man file with his nane next to it, I think you can click on that and it will bring up everything else he's done there.
Excellent. A truely unique version. Only critique is that the back channel precussion isn't stronger to give to true power and gravitas. but still stands on its own well.
well.. What can I say. YPhenomenal. Simply excellent man, I can only suggest you extend it and make it a full fledged ballad.
gives me the vibe that im fighting wily in a planetarium for some reason. very inventive. I like it.
I like it. Definitely has it own pop and flare that gives the mad russian vibe. Very nice.
This is what the sigma select screen for Maverick hunter X (the 2006 X1 remake) should have been. Very nicely done. One of your better renditions.
Decent. Very Decent. Sounds like it was a fight track on street fighter 2. I like it.
So.... The front horns are too flat and too broad. They give it a dull slow feel, when this should be a zippy life and death battle. I think instead of trumpets, they should be replaced with something sharper, perhaps an oboe instead. And ramp up the back channel precussion, as it denotes the pulse and gravity of the battle like it were megamans heart beating in panic.
