Joe Malizia Sports Videos
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 2 ม.ค. 2017
Joseph John Malizia, Sr. was a legend on the Philadelphia local sports scene, an educator of our city’s youth, and a man of uncommon character and values.
Joe Malizia Sports Videos was founded in 1964 by my father, Joseph J. Malizia, Sr. when he first walked into a pawn shop and bought an 8mm camera and a tripod. He began filming for North Catholic.
After filming for North, other schools saw his films and hired him immediately. His business grew and eventually, he had 17 schools and employed 15 people. His films were shared with universities across the nation and, as a result, many of those players were selected to play college football. Amongst those he filmed were Marvin Harrison and Blair Thomas. He personally filmed over 1,000 games (from 1964-2014).
For his years of athletic accomplishments and service to the sports community, Joe was inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame (Philadelphia and Summit Chapters) and the LaSalle College High School Hall of Athletes.

When baseball was baseball and dudes weren't shy about wearing a cup like they are today.
Would you happen to have 2006 public league championship. Washington vs frankford
Any future stars in the game?
These videos are great. Would you have the 2001 all pub game?
A great team coached by an outstanding lifelong Falcon….Larry Conti.
Great game by Dave Brown and the defense. Offensive play-calling needed work for Carroll-- too much running up the middle early and middle of game. Kingsbury shoud've been given the ball double the amount he got it. More passing plays for Carroll-- spread the defense. Go long early and spread that field!
30 years… time flies. I must laugh at the PA announcer commenting on the gutter pigeon’s “very successful season.” My daughter is studying mechanical engineering at Purdue now (Boiler up!), and they finally made it to the Final Four. They got completely embarrassed in the championship, as did Washington. I don’t own a TV and had to go to an Applebee’s north of Seattle in the great Pacific Northwest and sit beside a UConn fan for several hours of torture. We can have both… Northeast was an embarrassment in 1995 with all 7 unearned runs (I was next to Coach Ros when he waved off the walk-off win by “Murky Waters” Mruk in disgust). Rick is a pure hitter… I was at his house once, where he knocked out gapper double after gapper double on a video game. He asked to join my club team (the title game was at the Vet which was desirable to him), and on his first pitch, he hit a well over 400ft home run to dead center. One more thing… a championship is a precious thing. Kids were spoiled when the Phils won 5 straight division titles. Those aren’t guaranteed. I see Northeast hasn’t won the Public League this century, with the last in 1999. I was privileged to do it twice and help out the cause once. Savor the moment. #5 And props to my favorite bench mate and manager, Kristen A. Graham, who won a Pulitzer Prize. She is truly the gangster of grunts and growls. Getting a reviewed essay covered in red ink from her was an honor.
Yeah Coach Pat!
Great video!
Love you franky ,u da man

Anyone have the semi finals games this year 1996
The first 3 pointer made in Philadelphia Catholic Playoff History was made by Nelson Davis of West Catholic. The second was made by Anthony Davis of West Catholic.
Haha these teams would have crushed the teMs feom where im from.... wow.
Who did that poster that looks like redskins running back john Riggins
TF is with the commentary???
Happy 30ty Anniversary to all my teammates of the Mighty Mustang's, Flame n Steel!!
Yo this is CLASSIC shit right here. RIP Butch. SLIM
Joe, do you have the Red game from this year?
Would you happen to have the semi-final of that year, Roman vs. North?
Hi Peter. Sorry. I do not
Great game for seventeen year older

Hard to believe it’s been 29 years. 1:30:45 best moment of pure joy in my life… said if I can’t play, I’ll be the first one out of the dugout. A starting teammate I won’t name was very ticked I got my picture in the paper even after I did all his Spanish work all season. The Roon Dog (who did not put the ball in his pocket… when did that nonsense start?) was manhandling Ert Daddy so much that had he not reached out the arm, I would have flown right by. Thank you for the post (I long ago lost my VHS copy in a divorce clean out). Hail Northeast! -#5
So glad you enjoyed seeing this again.
Joe Malizia is the man!!! My favorite part was Hanratty's diving catch near the goal line to setup the final td. And the defensive stand in the second half of the 85 mud bowl.
I’m glad I could honor my father by posting these videos and I’m glad you are enjoying them 👍
Can you post the 1986 philadelphia public league boys basketball championship game between Southern High school and University City
Hi Darryl - it doesn't appear that I have that game. Sorry
I was at the 84 game, the Rocky music IS KILLING me. In 2015 my beloved Cowboys played the eagles and all during the week during Cowboys practice HC Jason Garrett said, "Every time they play that damn Rocky music.... that's OUR music... he stressed it all week. And on the game film you can see the Cowboys getting hyped up 😂😂😂 every time that dumb music came over the PA. They DESTROYED the scum in green that day and beat the living hell out of traitor to the Star Demarco Murray.....Sean Lee singlehandedly DESTROYED the green scum that day. I have over 780 Cowboys games/films on DVD and I am making a video of all Cowboys highlights and there are tunz more than eagles since the Cowboys have DOMINATED the series record. The highlights are being made to the Rocky music and Philadelphia Freedom by Elton John. From North Graduate...former Cowboy Blair Thomas played in this series. Thanks for uploading..love to see the 84 game if you have it
All of the Public League coaches should have been ashamed of themselves. My guy Corey Lewis did not make All Public. Disgrace
That 2004 wash team was the best that year im the pub hands down but that team couldnt fuck wit fkd 2003 team and everyone on that 04 team in wash played against fkd in 2003 and lost twice to fkd in 2003
They was youngbouls and still rumbled yall and yall was all Seniors. Plus Chuck Hughes at QB over McFillin was a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT team
Aye fah cut it out bro they wasnt youngbuls they was all juniors in 03 and seniors in 04 chuck was better but our defense was unstoppable . We was youngbuls we was freshmans in 03
If there is anyone who played in this game, let me know. I might have a memento for you
What a great win! Such a great year! Go LIONS! Class of 05' kicked ass!
Wow this is awesome. I graduated from Mastbaum in 95. Dr. Ralph Racapito was our football coach with two other legends John Murphy and Adam Rolec. This was 2 years later but it was great to watch. Ted Silary covered Mastbaum over our four years like white on rice. I think we were ranked top 10 all four years.
I don’t remember Murphy but Ricapito made sure I got a $500 scholarship and Silary is def a local legend
@@joemaliziasportsvideos9578 John Murphy was the head coach for a while at Mastbaum . Mastbaum went to I believe 3 city champs and 1 semi finals game in my four years. I coached at Mastbaum two years after I graduated. Will never forget those days. It is definitely different now day 91-94 I was #73. God bless the public league and God bless you and your family.
Same to you my friend
I was there. It was as thrilling as any football game that I have ever seen at any level. Thank you for posting!
Frankford for life. I was on both of those championship teams. Fun days.
Do you have any frankford games fr the 2000-01 year
#49 Sam Bookard was a beast‼️ still is
y not just kick field goal Last play lol
Do you have Bok Vs Germantown Championship Game
Sorry. It doesn't appear that I have that
Is that a girl wrestling for Central 106? If so, this needs to be talked about!
I pitched the 2005 championship and i can say based on experience. There is something about that mound that makes it difficult to pitch. I had issue the first few batters ended up taking some off to be able to controll the ball better its like i almost had to slow my whole body down to make up for the mound.
That whole Frankford squad was like the Yankees of public league baseball.. They used to recruit the best players from every school. Most of the people on their team was on Olneys team the year before. And Esteban (the league mvp) played for Saul the year before smh
Kyle Lowry
My 1960 NECHS class didn’t make the playoffs. HOWEVER, Monsignor Bonner of the Southern Division won the Catholic and City League title, and N.C. beat Bonner at North’s court on a Sunday afternoon during a seasonal Catholic League game. To put icing on the cake North beat every Catholic League Southern Division team during the season, but still missed the playoffs. Dougherty, LaSalle, and Judge were the reason as to why North never made the playoffs. North even had the Catholic League scoring champion player the late Tony Maronie. May he RIP. What an exciting time that it was win or lose attending those Catholic League basketball games. Fablio N - Fablio C
I think my dad played on the 1960 team. I came here after hearing from some varsity players from this 1968 team. Sounds like those guys got screwed from no fault of their own. The captain of that team makes some interesting points that most don’t consider because of not allowed to be play.
Do you have any tapes of the 2003 2004 season and 05 06 season for Frankford public league championship
Hi. Unfortunately, it does not appear that I have that. Sorry
@@joemaliziasportsvideos9578 thank you for looking those two years was the year we broke the record for most public league titles and then set the record with 11 public league titles
@@jonb9895 Wow. Great stuff. If you ever find those videos, I can post them for you so the whole team can enjoy
Yes I agree, as a matter of fact I attended the game most public students went on to graduate 🎓 that year ,
I remember this game.
I remember rocking you at Olney field boyyy!! Saul All day! 😂😂😂 Wassup Kelinton!
I dont know about rocking me. All i know is saul never beat us at olney.
March 22, 2004.. Saul @ Olney... Saul wins. Just screenshotted that shit from Ted Silary. Got eeeem
If u ain’t get picked off by me u we’re lucky lol
1963 Philadelphia High School City Championship Game Egan vs Roxborough
Best Football Team in Philadelphia PL history 💯🎯
Naw fa this cal this the same team that last to our 2003 team.. but this 2004 team yall had was ridiculous tho
@Mike Jones A year older tho and all better so I think this team could have taken yall just my opinion. But that 2003 Frankford team was TOUGH. Wish we could have saw yall in State Playoffs
