Ohh hmm theres some misunderstanding somewhere but thats ok, so capping frames works on DLSS, FSR and that Intle stuff (with and without using those). But DLSS/FSR is frame generators, they make up fake frames between real frames, but if you cap your FPS then there really isnt much point to run frame generators (Unless you trying to cap top spikes) Also if you are serious about capping then i recommend using your GPU software (Your case Invidia control panel) as it is much more responsive and gives you better control. About the different setting, thats because last video is aimed to reduce/ avoid the bottleneck. This video is more for " i do not care about that bottleneck issue that much, but i may have lower end system. Also i do not want to keep changing settings" Different videos for different people. If you enjoy lots of PvP content then last video settings+Character count on High would be the best to go (Epic only if you really really need). Stay Fluffy.

Thats a good question though i think it wont help as the issue does not really scale with having more cores. Problem is not in hardware it is coding/engine side. Like for example the shadows do scale very well by having more cores, so its not that game/engine doent know how to do that, its that character data is coded in a way that it is pushed to a single core/thread. I can check it out though at some point in a few days. I shall let you know what i see, but i wouldnt bet much on it (never know though, as broken as this game system is, everything could be possible XD)

@@OptSetting i get it i was just curious if like in the pc settings if you could force it to more evenly distribute the work load or like when you run the steam game and ust the -useallcores or whater the text is you type i forget

I would guess yes, but i can not confirm that as i do not have another CPU to test it, but if anything then 99% of CPU testers show better performance in almost any other game with X3D chips. (CPU used in those tests is 7800X3D)

Thank you. I’m guessing you're referring to the anti-aliasing option in the game. If thats so then AA is disabled/broken by devs, so i will say "Not much we can do about it, other then not using FSR or DLSS" But some do say that they have managed to change it through editing .ini files, BUT i do NOT recommend it and the reason is because of AC. This could be a whole debate on its own, but the fact is that i can not recommend anything that can do harm to you.

Yeah it is really annoying especially when there is no pre-sets we can make ughhh To you buddy, you can say "At least it is big"(4080) hehehe but yeah, sadly its not GPU issue, its CPU-ish issue, though top of the line CPU is not going to help either. I hope they start to figuring out how to do thread optimization on character data, that would benefit every single player.

Someone asked similar question for Nvidia, so ill be lazy for moment and say same, there is not much you can do there as most game "beauty" options are under 2 options, Shading and LOD. About FPS drop, hmmm well first check your drivers, there was an update i believe, maybe you missed it or if you did then you could try rollback or reinstall it. Other options are windows drivers and after that check windows settings, Power mode, see that it is on performance mode, then check if "game mode" is on, put it off if it is (sometimes it can do opposite of what it should), system-display-graphics, see if TL is in the list, if not, locate TL exe and add it then set on high performance and also under "Gaming" is "game bar" set that off if it is on or other way. In-game you can check "DirectX12" off for testing purposes. That could help if your system is bit older.

Leave it on Low, it is one of settings that does not work.

@@ZerefGaming11 yeah they broke the game when it was launched on global, the whole graphics system is broken Anti-aliasing, Terrain quality, Depth of Field, Chromatic abberation, Effect quality, Hair strands, Those do not work... and much other silly things in there. Will have to wait and hope that they fix all that.

lowest GPU that someone tested with it was 1660, CPU wise i went down to 4 core. Those settings are made while thinking about low-end GPUs, in that list "shadow" is only option that really asks GPU. I would not really recommend going below "minimum recommended specs" and even then... 4 core CPUs will have hard time especially in PvP moments.

Hmmm and what would you want to get out from it? imo game options "shading" and "LOD" are like 80% of the "graphics beauty". And probably a lot of the times your GPU is underperforming (not running at 95%), but that is because the game is locking CPU and if that happens then your GPU just does not get enough tasks to do, meaning it literally has nothing to do. In that case, tweaking in NCP does not do anything. Fault is in game not in your software/hardware. Still though, if you have anything specific in your mind that you want to get out from NCP then do let me know.

actually, could you tell me why do you use "view distance" , just curious for now

you don't need view distance for pvp, it doesn't affect player rendering

x12 is on by default and should stay so. i can think only few reasons why you should uncheck it, one is if your rig is more then a decade old, it could help a bit with performance. and another time is if you have some super odd issues, then checking x12 off is a good way to test, but it shouldnt be a "fix". With modern hardware you probably will have performance loss if you uncheck it, for example i have tested it in med pop location and results were: x12 On- avg 120 FPS , 1% low 70 FPS , Stuttering 0,3% x12 Off- avg 70 FPS, 1% low 28 FPS, Stuttering 1.2%

@ thanks alot for the reply, just wondering, did this applied to other games too, sometimes they had an option to run the game like example “run the game dx12 with vulkan etc” or play default with dx11, if that true that dx12 affect that much im just really upset, because i’ve played Black Desert Online for years and they didnt run the game at dx12

@@ree1773 yes in general sense. Like 95% of times using x12 is going to be better option. That being said, there are odd cases where x11 is better, specially with games that were developed with x11, then it is a developers job to make it work on x12. in case of BDO they did that job well and yes it also has vulkan option that can really boost your fps there (i got like +80FPS if i remember correctly) Vulkan can have issues though, so if things start to crash or you start getting weird artifacts on screen then you should try to take step back, but in BDO, i had no problems with that😉

High GPU usage is good, it means that it does what it should do. For CPU it would be bad as CPU does a lot more (not only it runs your game but it also runs windows and all the tiny apps in your pc). At the end of video where results show is, you can see my GPU-4070 is also 95% (outside of the city).

ohh, what a question, hmmm well my first answer is none, there is an issue inside the game and getting better CPU/GPU will not really help. Unless you really want to buy something new, then hmm with CPU 5700x3d or 5800x3d, they use same socket as your current CPU(make sure that cooler fits and is good enough). Or if you want to have a bigger step then 7800x3d BUT that means new motherboard, RAM (probably also CPU cooler). That is a big step forward, but also a big hit to wallet. (might have good combo deals out there, but if you do buy one, then check that motherboard as sometimes its not that good) 3080 is a very good card and will be for few more years, now yes, not having frame generation option could be a thing but then again is this game really that important to you? Its the question you have to ask yourself! (If you do decide to swap your GPU then make sure that your PSU has all proper connector options for the future card)

I understand and agree with you, but the current state of graphics settings is such. Unless you are in 17% of people (based on steam survey) who owns RTX 40 series card and can push further. Also this video came out more about this bottleneck issue and how to bypass it, I think it is important thing to know, even if you do not care about smoothness as much. It is just what we currently have, a very limited options and if you are not in that 17% then you are even more limited.

Hmm Whats your FPS? it does sound like it is locked. as for CPU usage, 40 is not "low" per say, because you have 14 core CPU and that 40% what you see is average between all cores.

@@OptSetting I'm having 20-30 FPS at that moment. But when I was in amitoi house or low people place it goes up to 100% and able to get hundreds of frame.

for average PC yes, that is to avoid/ go around the sluggish feeling that the bottleneck makes.

Hmm, Interesting. i mean in a way yes, like 16 core cpu with locked fps or even lower core count with lower lock, it is possible. What FPS you running?

I have a frame rate cap of 141 to match my refresh rate of 144. So in the city it's avg 65 and in other places it's around 130(even inside the city if there are under 5-10 people). The problem is during open world bosses especially conflict. CPU:Ryzen 5 7000 series 8GB GPU: RTX 3050 4GB, if that helps

And ya Thank u for the video, after using the settings u said my GPU usage went up to 70% increasing the fps to what it is now.

@@Zephyr-f22 hmm, perhaps go check windows settings, like power mode, under display is also game bar(On-Off test both), game mode(ON-Off test both) and graphics, in graphics set TL to preformance, (you might need to add it if it is not listed). update/check drivers too.

They could just fix what they have now, game would probably perform much better and give us much better control to set settings based on personal rig.
