Hey how have you been doing? I also have anoxic brain injury after cardiopulmonary arrest. Myoclonus and tremors frustrate me the most. What drugs are you taking to control your symptoms?

This medication is a miracle I have TBI and couldn't speak from falling of the top of a half pipe !! And cracked my skull open at 18 now 28! I've been on it 3 .5 years and my doctor agrees o even shared your video and he was surprised that collide can open up neural pathways for us people that are disabled !! But I love the video <3 god bless you

I know I'm probably writing too much ! Do u know if there's anything....like an antidote to take for Xanax like there is for opioids? I researched and I can't find anything, reason being my daughter takes it and sometimes ( most times ) she either forgets how much she takes n she forgets or tells me , "" mom, I need more bc this mg doesn't even work, she lives about 120 miles away from me , and I just worry that she's gonna forget n take to many .Thanks so much for telling your story, you are so brave !!! Someday ...if I can I'll talk about it , I'll do videos on utube about depression and Xanax and living with grief after losing my husband and my son ...🕊️🙏

I just came across your videos , wow! You should have millions of subscribers!! Such a detailed story , your videos everyone should see ! So much information that could help other ppl that could of had the same condition or something like it , especially that Ambien worked ! I believe it worked for you , I really think it did , not a coincidence I believe! You're a walking talking beautiful young lady that is so intelligent!!! I'll share your videos for you ! I was dead for 15 years before some lol asshole moved into my house and started reading from my old theology books.

I hope you're doing well. My brother is on a ventilator right now, he had a heart attack and it took too long for someone to get to him in time so they're saying he has brain injury die to lack of oxygen from the time his heart stopped til resuscitation. Now the doctor is trying to get my family to pull the plug. Another Dr is saying he could stay in ICU for 14 days and then we could do a trach and transfer him to a hospice but he'll have to stay heavily medicated because he is having bad seizures when they try to decrease the benzos to take him out of the coma. I don't know what to do. I don't even think I have a say in the matter.

Thank you for sharing your story. It's inspiring how you have come so far. I love your sense of humor while sharing your story. I hope you make more videos soon. I do have some questions regarding service animals as I have been trying to get my father to get a service dog.

I really appreciate you for sharing this story … my girlfriend had a Xanax overdose last night and I want to know if u remember how long u waited until u got to the hospital. She is in the hospital right now and she is unresponsive, when she wakes up I will let her know about your story thank you Emily.

Have you tried taking ambien post-waking up to see if it improves your speech? I know that the mechanism of action for waking people up from comas. It calms overactive brain signals that brain damage can cause, sometimes enough to let the brain regain consciousness. Speech can be slowed by the same overactive brain so if you haven’t tried ambien after waking up, I suggest it :)

Benzos are evil prescribed or not ! Im so grateful you are ok ! I had an issue coming of Xanax i will nevr be the same it left me with a brain injury . Everyday is a battle but u encouraged me with yoir video ! Thank u so much for telling your story !

Good luck getting ambien anymore it's considered taboo now regardless of your reason for taking it.

A true WARRIOR indeed. Please provide the information on the hospitals or rehab centers that helped you with your recovery. I have a relative whose prognosis is to be in a vegetative state for the rest of his life. Doctors have said that the family should make the decision on whether to place him in a nursing rehab for the rest of his life or remove the ventilator and allow him to die peacefully. Family believes he still has a fighting chance. Keep up the good fight. Thanks!!

Thank you guys so much for all info. My pops 57 we where at work he left get paint and found back but in parkinglot between his truck and another car he wasnt responding to me some people lived there call peramedics for me was not responding but was breathing ambulance got there took him. And wen off loaded him to go to hospital that's where saying oxgen stop going to his brain. This was MAY 31,2021. But everyday looking better and wen talk to him he trys follow with eyes. Also will blink for yes but looks very hard to do. All doctors say he's gonna be like that for ever it's not way life but I think it's to soon. So thanks for info godbless

Maybe you had a grand mal seizure, that can cause a traumatic brain injury. I have seizures and I stop breathing during them sometimes.

What was the toxicology test results..?

My baby died and lived too. He took 13 bars of xanax and I called 911. He ended up with brain damage and can't figure out his right from left hand and can't do simple math, but he looks OK. I do not know how to get him a cognitive test. God bless you that you survived too.

how much xanax did you take? 300mg?

I hope no one is taken off life support or anything without at least trying this. Drugs are TOOLS and drug users should only be prosecuted if they injure or harm others. You never know what drugs can do what magical things for certain people.

I have an abi assesment coming up. Had demand heart attack lack of oxygen over 9hrs before found. Coma 3 days on a ventilator. May have anoxic they said. Over dose 😢 year ago

I`ve seen the ambien work. Glad your having such a good recovery from such a devastating injury...

You are a amazing !!! My brother died last year after 6 months with his ABI from a low blood sugar episode as he was a type one diabetic. I am going to share your video's with the Facebook Anoxic care givers page they will love these . You should think about joining to give hope to others !!!

I was waiting for the story about the light. But your story was even more powerful. You are such a beautiful person not just on the outside. But inside as well. I'm disabled with a bad back. And sometimes life can be a struggle. To me the meaning of life is simple... LOVE. Family & friends & just being good to one an other. Anyways thank you for your story. I know it has helped many out there. God Bless you. You are a light in this dark world. PS And your voice isn't as bad as you think. With time & lots of practice you'll get it back. I had a problem with my eye (detached retina) . And had a couple surgeries trying to fix it. And at the end the doctors were like that's as good as it'll get. And I could barely move one eye. I said to myself what do they know these doctors don't know it all. They don't know everything about the human body. So every day I would look in the mirror 20 minutes & try to move that eye just a little bit & hold it there. And it was painful but I didn't give up. In a couple weeks I could move it a little bit & hold it. So I kept doing this & saying to myself I'm not giving up. And in a couple months you wouldn't be able to tell there was anything wrong with my eye. It's all about not giving up. And keeping a positive frame of mind. And say to yourself I show them, I can do this. Human will is a hell of a thing & can do the impossible

My Dad is going through this now and is in a long term acute rehab hospital and just started ambien! We are hoping for the best!

Happy Friday Emily! I know this video was 4 months ago but I’m a new subscriber as of yesterday ( I’m your “neighbor” in Boston 😉) But I fell instantly in love with you just after the first video that I watched and wish so badly that we could be friends off of social especially since we are so close! ( “Close” In more ways than just the distance 😉) But I am so proud of you for your strength, persistence and never giving up attitude! Yes It’s been the hardest challenge of your life but with your Fighting /Never Give Up attitude 💪🏻, beautiful heart ♥️ and your awesome Jazzy Personality, I can just tell that Whatever you put your mind to, you won’t stop until you accomplish whatever that may be! Emily you don’t typically find those very rare and powerful quality’s in others often and that’s a huge part of what “attracted” me to you and why I have so much of the respect that have for you as well! I teach and try to inspire others about “Never settling”, “Never Except” if (YES DOCTORS ESPECIALLY!) try to put limits on you and/or your life or who try and put a time stamp on how much longer you may have here on earth and to “Never Give Up Hope”! Going through my own wacky life and difficult personal health journey that changed my life too, it has proven time and time again to me that “We grow though what we go through “ and I live by: “If it’s meant to be, Then its up to Me”! If I had listened to EVERYONE and ALL MY DOCTORS trying to tell me to “stop trying to fight reality” and that “the sooner I just excepted it, the better it would be for me emotionally and I would be able to pass away with a more peaceful mind”.... WHAT!!!!! I told them “Oh hell NO!, I will NEVER EXCEPT THIS disease/Label that you have slapped upon me, I am NOT my Diagnosis! I am WAY TO young to just “except and hang on” and wait for this disease to take me! I have 2 kids to live for and a whole life ahead of me! I Will NEVER just Except this diagnosis and I will Live to Prove you all wrong too!!” (Btw, I said that to all of the different doctors I had and both times in Hospice hospital being told I had only days left). If people just “except” where they’re at whether it be financially, mentally or physically then that would be exactly where they would forever stay. Change requires Action and the Only person who can do things to change our current situations is ourselves... “If it’s meant to be then it’s up to me” I just am so happy to have found you Emily and I look forward to seeing you continue to LIVE, Thrive and keep going after all the things that make you happy and healthy!!!!!
