How do you get loads? Or what loadboard did you use?
The guys that suggested moving the weight forward were right in theory, but not in application. The point is having weight in front of the trailer tires - not necessarily all the way forward. Where you ended up was way too far forward. You want weight as far back as possible without there being more weight behind the axles than in front of them. Actually, never all the way forward. I didn’t see a good view of it, but I think you were pretty close to correct the first time. Also keep in mind that some forklift operators are good resources for loading practices. He might have known where it needed to go.
How are you finding your loads
Could that truck haul a 32ft trailer or 30
Sir When doing this video are you using a car broker or you are the car broker also
keep your head up bro! i recently had to pause my hotshot operation here in Texas. im gonna take the rest of this year to save, come back strong next year
I have a question about getting paid. Are the clients on a net30 payment plan???
I do like that trailer. I suggest running the strap thru ALL the wheels, keep that ring AWAY from wheels & have that black cover between the ring & the strap to prevent wear on the strap. Have your ratchet further away from the vehicle.
How can you find the loads, and what do you need for that?
How can you afford commercial insurance premiums loading 1 car at a time?
Everyone has different bills. That why when you talk income you always talk GROSS!
He didn’t want to scare you! Even your State makes a difference. I hear Florida is bad. “HIGH RATES”. Also, my company charges more if you haul cars than freight. But, it’s good to haul both.
You have a bumper pull trailer.....i would think a gooseneck trailer handles differently??
It does, as you add weight. Goosenecks also turn tighter
Gotta have it tight and secure... All vehicles are different with different hook points and things you Can't hook to sometimes...
Dattz Wuzzup 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 Glad you ran into some people with extra knowledge.... There's always something to Learn...
I hope you got more business going and grew in the last 2 years
You need to get in the right lane if you're going to go that slow.
Does this set up requires CDL & Medical card ?
no CDL/Medical card required, truck under 10,000 lbs
Unfortunately you were given bad advice. Never put the weight on the tongue of the trailer center it over the axles. The way you had the car was right to begin with. Those trailers are designed to be pulled that way. You don’t want the ass end of your truck sagging you want it level.
Can you recommend someone here in Columbus,,Oh to help me get started
i think if you would've quit your job, you could've have trucked double or more and ended up making more than you thought. Longer distance hauls too. Even with the higher fuel and tolls.
Yeah exactly, he wasn't making enough money cause he couldn't do it as often while work his full time job.
What are the insurance requirements for a 1 car hauler for the load board and stuff? Is it still 1 million dallor policy?
I'm starting single car hot shot next month (April). My company name is The Hauling Horseman, based in Iowa. Maybe I'll see you out there brother! Haul safe! Good info!
Bro come back and make more videos
Im lucky, in Delaware, your regular vehicle insurance covers any trailer you hook up to it. So you don't need separate insurance for the trailer
you're my new youtube hero. before you was the kid that flipped off the cops and then started cussing them out when they hassled him. before that was the legal eagle. you're in good company
How long is your trailer
Watching your video now, im starting out with a 1998 Chevy K2500 Suburban with a bombproofed 6.5 Detroit TurboDiesel looking forward too starting
Make a video focusing on strapping and chaining down a car and the different tie down points on a car!
Cuz but is DOT pass the way you strapping??
Driver,u wanna stop forward motion 1st when strappin one dwn, rear 1st...and pull ur straps through just 1 time.👍
What car are you starting with please
Hey my friend i fallowed you’re advice on getting a car hauler and it’s going great so far but I find my self struggling to find jobs at time any suggestions or websites I live in Southern California I have a 20ft car hauler with a 2500
First of all let me say congrats 👏 to you. It's good to hear people doing good and working for themselves. Now regarding what websites, I used "Central Dispatch" and "ship.cars". You will have to set up an account. I'm a freight broker now. Email your company info including your contact information to me. Also contact your insurance company and make "4D's Transport LLC" a card carrier and have them email me a copy of your insurance so I can keep on file. If I find something in your area, I will contact you. 4dstransportllc@gmail.com Good luck with everything.
Hey The car was to far forward. It needed to be back just a little bit. So your truck want SAG as much
Cool starter vid. You learned the most important thing in hauling: 10 different guys will have 10 different ways of doing things. You'd probably been ok with the way you had it to begin with. In any case, you can buy a weight distribution hitch with sway control for a few hundred bucks if you do have a trailer that behaves weird at higher speeds. Hope all is well
You hiring drivers
You're an Inspiration bro.
Awesome vid as I’m going into the biz… wish seen you strap up…..🤷🏼♂️
Hey Dee...awesome starting point. Like how you present that. All that time I was so preoccupied about dually and wedge trailer. Think I would start with 2500HD with 2 car trailer. Wouldn't be so bad. Again...Love how you present fro the beginning to end. Go slow and take it a step at a time. Great work
Hey , thanks for the info. I am not far from you. What insurance companies you use. Seen progressive but searching. Thx

THAT SUCKS... I CAN'T STAND WHEN FOLKS MESS WITH SOMEONE'S PROPERTY...
Great job 1st haul. You had the Jeep loaded right the first time. The heaviest part of the vehicle is the engine compartment. You had it forward of the trailer axles. They knew you were “new” because they saw new straps and trailer.
How can I get in contact with you for more information I want to start this. I would appreciate your help 🙏🏽
i to am on the same path and i had to upgrade'
With your 1 car setup, did you have to get a HUT sticker to run in NYS?
It wasn't necessary
@@4dspowerwasher Good to know. Thanks! I'm looking to get into 1 car hauling myself starting part time before fully leaving my job driving a day cab/dry van. I fully understand your reasoning getting out of it, but like you said....as a company driver such as myself, I kind of want a change and am willing to pull the trigger on getting started. Already have a 3/4 ton Diesel truck fully paid for and meticulously maintained. Looking to sell my enclosed and get an open 10k like you had. I'm out in the Midwest, but have family out in Western NYS that I would try and get loads to frequently to visit.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
You could’ve got at least a 2 car gooseneck with that truck…not sure if it was gas or diesel…but I respect where your coming from…I didn’t think you had a cdl prior to this, I appreciate the knowledge tho my guy!…I’m currently a company driver and just bought my f450 cash and formed my LLC…I plan on starting on the weekends just like how you did 💪🏾💪🏾💯 respect bro
i to started with a one car but definitely had to upgrade .
I appreciate that brother. And you are right, I should've started with a 2 to 3 car. The truck I had was a gas vehicle not diesel.
Always check the height of your truck bed and drive your load far enough so that the bed squats 2-3". This will ensure good tongue weight so it don't swing like it did. When you originally loaded the van, you left too much of a gap in the front and the rear tires were almost at the end of the trailer. The tools in the bed of the van plays a role but the van was too far back regardless. Happy trailering!!!
Good information my friend. Wishing you the best in your new endeavors!!
yeah but you have 1 car hauler imagine if you have a 3 car hauler, but okay make ur money
