    • @MaximumDIYGarage
      @MaximumDIYGarage 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don’t know, to be honest. One one hand, I think Toyota is not stupid to risk their reputation and release a car/truck that will ruin their reputation. On the other hand, knowing that turbos require more maintenance and are likely not as reliable as n/a counterparts makes me nervous for the future of Toyota reliability. But other car makers are deep into making turbo engines for their cars. The future will show if it was a good call or not.

    • @EnthusiastCarHangar
      @EnthusiastCarHangar 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@MaximumDIYGarage I think it’s the future to go to smaller turbo engines. Not they I favor it but I don’t think we can change it. On the other hand I owned an Ecoboost F-150 and never had any issues. Sounded bad but the torque made up for it.

    • @MaximumDIYGarage
      @MaximumDIYGarage 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@EnthusiastCarHangar yes, the torque numbers do not lie. These 4-cylinder turbos generate as much torque and more than old n/a V8 engines in some cases. Just change oil every 3-5k miles and maintain it well, it should last a long time. The problem is, most people do not take care of their cars and that will mean “less reliability”. I wouldn’t mind owning a turbo car in the future (Bronco, F150, GX550, Tacoma, Land Cruiser, GR Corolla, whatever).

      @@jackhart99 I stand corrected, Jack. Thank you! I forgot about those. Honestly though, those two are each in sort of sub-class on their own, aren’t they? Not too many guys shopping for a Tacoma and Frontier look at the Gladiator. It’s a Jeep thing. I bet, most people buying a Gladiator may already have or have had a Wrangler or another Jeep (if they’re brand loyal) in their family. The Ridgeline, yes, thats the one honestly I’d buy as I do not need a body on frame truck and only need the bed like 4 times a year, lol. It is a great truck IMHO.

    i replaced my spark plugs and noticed i had oil in 2 , so i need to replace the valve cover , i put it together cause needed the car but in few weeks i’ll be ripping it apart again …. I found this video after I replaced my spark plugs and i screwed the intake manifold to 11 ft/lbs instead 8….. think it will be ok until i replace the valve cover in few weeks ? runs ok so far

    • @MaximumDIYGarage
      @MaximumDIYGarage 24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It should be fine, really. Just be prepared to replace the intake manifold gaskets again if they were compressed unevenly to avoid future leaks. Should not need to replace the valve cover gaskets since they are brand new and still pliable, however the RTV will need to be replaced in those corners.

    I purchased a 24 Frontier SV a few weeks ago and I'm very happy with it with the exception of the low resolution backup camera. I'm an older guy who doesn't need 4x4 so I got a great deal on a rear wheel drive truck. I didn't consider the 24 Taco because of the Tundra engine problem knowing quality control has become a problem with "made in Mexico" trucks and recently learned the Tacoma's are starting to show transmission problems.
