@@TravelWithBedi I was just there on vacation a few months ago. I think it has A LOT of potential and I felt absolutely safe (I feel safe in all of New Hampshire). As an outsider who visited the area, I would say that the Main Street area is in desperate need of some developing. I wish there were more restaurants, gift shops, I couldn't find anyplace to buy anything locally grown, maybe re-open the movie theater, etc. Everyone in Berlin was very friendly, I'll add.......

I’m happy to see comments like these from locals. I’m so tired of not having anywhere here in CT to ride, so I’m planning a trip up I’m the spring. I was doing some research on the area and was astonished by the home prices. I’m actually tempted to look for a place to buy that I can Airbnb and then have my own home base when I come up to ride. It seems like it’s really becoming a destination for ATV riders and it could be a good investment.

@@stevew4302 If you are in Connecticut, then you are not too far to drive up. I'm not sure if you've ever been to Mt. Washington, but its not far at all from Berlin and that opens up around mid-May. I'm not an ATV rider, but I can confirm they are allowed on the roads, they have trails and they have a HUGE festival during the end of July. I'm not exactly sure why homes are so cheap. I know it was once a big mill town, so that had to have something to do with it. The area is beautiful, quiet and absolutely safe. My only gripe is that I wish the downtown had a bit more to offer. It's close to Gorham and North Conway which has a lot more to attract tourists and people looking to shop or stay. The good part is that the people in Berlin feel the same way and they seem to be working on making the town more appealing. I stayed at an airbnb in Berlin which was a bit cheaper than places in North Conway. If you want the name of the place.......

its not so much a crime area its just a depressed area ever since the mill shut down

@@pyrosteria9864 yes my father worked for the Brown paper company back in the 50,s.Small towns are so dependant on usually just a couple of big businesses beside paper mill it had a big shoe manufacture there and that about 75 percent the city's revenue.One thing the people now don't realize the place stunk because of the paper mill there.

This was the first time that I have ridden this event. I do not know what happened to the mileage, other than the club said that there were "Landowner issues". Really, I did not mind. The loop was pretty awesome as it was. We rode it twice.
