This is just my opinion, but I think this song is about Hyunjin. I feel like something happened between them. A sort of a turning point in their friendship. It's kinda obvious from how they were literal chopsticks, always together, clingy, touchy, huggy, Hyunjin used to shove people out of the way to claim Felix, wearing couple rings, etc. From that to no interactions, no rings, literally didn't even look at Felix, started being touchy and clingy with other people, etc. From the 2 kids room when Felix said Hyunjin is his another reason to live and literally confessing to him and Hyunjin used to call him my angel and followed him everywhere and saying I love your tiny hands, your voice, your accent, I love you Felix. All that just suddenly stopped. Hyunjin is cold to Felix now. It's so weird and sudden. Felix released Deep End in the middle of all that happening. And if you listen to Contradicting, it's like an answer to Deep End. Just saying.

There's no way someone wrote such a SAD, SAD song just because of a season. Unless somebody makes him reminded of the season. Which makes it even more.......SAD. Whoever that person is, remember, you hurt a baby angel. No one will forget of your deed.

Love love love Felix!!!! He has a way with expressing through words. He never fails to surprise and captivate people. I hope he is doing fine and continue to create more songs. Because to be honest, just from hearing him talk in "2 kids and a room", he can already create multiple songs from the words he used there. I love how he doesn't try to hold back when expressing his feelings to the other members. Just like the song collab with Changbin Because I Like You - seems all words are based on what they have both said to each other over the years. So great job on the Deep End, Felix!
