Welcome to the Canadian Driving Club's Snow Valley 1:64 Scale Diecast Racing, home of the Snow Valley Racers (SVR). Named after our nearby Snow Valley Ski Resort in Ontario with its lush rolling countryside and long winding roadways and highways.
Originally known for our Friday Night Street Racing with Snake, with drag racing in the downtown area, which eventually moved out to a near-town countryside location, has turned into just plain and simple downhill street racing, like the Muscle Car Madness [Episode 8].
Our most established series, the Formula $pecial, an F1 Inspired Diecast Racing Series, with new Formula Zero feeder series, is in its second season. Expect Season 3 in 2025. And, expect to see some LeMans soon!
Also, planner, organizer and host of the IDRL - International Diecast Racing League.

Any updates on the next leg of the series? 🤔🏁
Stay tuned ... I was a little late sending them out but the next track has them now.
Thank You Marcus! ✌️😎🏁
Cheers for the time trial run, and pure soynds of diecast! Cheers
How do you determine your times for the tracks? I'm thinking it's not from the start, but from a certain point on the track to the finish line.
Each track has a track timer by Slanman Customs. Times is from the start to finish of each track. I don't show the start in the video to give that feel of a continuous run.
Well done
Thanks!
@@MarcusFiregone another canuck racer btw.
The format of the show is cool. The detailed statistics added to feeling of a cross country race. Only one champion but giving race fans multiple winners with each track being unique offering different ways to win. Good job.
Pretty happy with Bob's performance there.
Interesting format. I guess now I see how the Gumball will be run. Cool idea!
This was unique in that content was shared and posted on one channel. Typically this is not a good idea as content produced by a channel should stay on a channel. The fan request was to do this for the Gumball 3000, but as I looked into it, I don't see this same format for that. The Gumball 3000 is a multiple venue event anyway. So each stop of the Gumball 3000 will be posted on the Channel that it was at. So instead of all tracks together on one channel like the Cannonball, for the Gumball 3000, viewers will be going from Channel to Channel to view each part. I'm planning on posting on the same day, so that viewers can see it in it's entirety.
So, similar but different. You will see the individual runs for each car on each track posted for that particular TH-cam Channel. Thanks for joining the effort and being one of the host tracks. You will be posting your part of the event on your own TH-cam Channel. It is going to be a lot of fun!
@@MarcusFiregone I see and I like that idea as different people find different channels and this can help all channels get further exposure. That’s why I love collabs. But now I at least have the idea down. Should be fun. 👍

Great so far! Can't wait to see all these races across all the different tracks!!
Nooooo!
not much passing as evidenced by the commonality in the score sheet... will be interesting to see all the races together and see if that is the norm or if this is an aberation... interesting!
This was the most predicable group. I don't usually do 4 car rotational, I usually do my own GRID-6 format. But this track has a big inside lane advantage such that the first two cars in the inside lane usually pull ahead of the two cars in the outside lane. I've been looking in replacing a section of the track that includes that switch back to make it more even and reduce crashes in that section as well.
Awesome race. This tournament is going to be mind-blowing and very ambitious. 🙂
Had the race ended on the 4th lap in a four way tie, that would be the fourth time I have seen such an improbable result occur. Marcus, you strike me as a fellow who is comfortable with math, have you ever calculated the odds of this taking place? I've asked some smart people but there's no real consensus, ranging from 1 in 256 chance to 1 in 331,776 races of this format ending up tied across the field. Please add your insights to the question, and thanks in advance Superb outline of the process we'll follow in the rest of IDRL 2.0 including the bracket of eliminated drivers--again, masterful organisation skills 👍
Thanks, and let me ponder that question. Off the top of my head it is not a simple math problem. I have a degree in Physics. My track is biased to the inside lane as you have probably noticed. This works fine when I'm doing my GRID-6 formation because the advantage goes to the lead car. You either have to catch the lead car or the lead car has to make a mistake. The interesting thing is that the 2nd and 3rd place cars typically keep changing positions due to this advantage. So keeps things moving behind the lead car. This is really the first time I'm doing the more typical 4 car rotational start. I'm not really a fan of this format because it really has nothing to do with real-world racing. Anyway, for my track, typically the two cars in the inside lane will pass the two cars in the outside lane through the start and individual lanes before it opens up, as was the case for like the first 6 laps of this race. Now the factors are too numerous to calculate for this to not happen. First of all, the cars are different in shape, size, weight, surface area (in particular those parts that interact with the track and other cars). Also, as the car travels down the track it's interactions are almost random in nature. A single car going down the track multiple times will not yield the exact same results (even in the unlikely event that the times match). Now factor in 4 cars each going down with almost infinite possibilities, interacting with the other 3 cars. Not just physically, but as the cars move down the track the track itself is affected with vibrations and some movement. So, the most likely outcome given identical cars (or at least equally competitive cars) is a four way tie after the 4th and 8th run. however, the cars are not identical, and there are infinite possibilities during each car's run. This in turn makes it unlikely that the cars will tie after the 4th and 8th run. It is even more unlikely that they will tie after 8 runs, which is why I extended this elimination round to 8 runs. The cars are so evenly competitive that it would be more difficult to eliminate one of the 4 cars fairly after just 4 runs. I think it is this randomness that makes Diecast Racing so fascinating. And at the same time it isn't just random, quality of car and track is a huge factor. What am I saying, it all depends on the drivers 🙂
Ok, here you go ... completely theoretical, assuming all 4 cars are equal (i.e.: marbles), don't interact and running down equal track and there are no DNFs. Further, with 5 points for 1st, 3 points for 2nd, 2 points for 3rd, and 1 point for 4th (and no DNFs), the "marbles" must finish 5 once and a combination of 2nd, 3rd and 4th the remaining times. That would give you a 1 in 1152 chance of a 4-way tie at the end of 4 laps. That is 4 marbles that can finish in 1 of 4 positions on the 1st lap, 2nd lap, 3rd lap, and 4th lap (4! x 4! x 4! x 4! = 331,776). We want them to finish in 1 of 4 positions on the 1st lap, 1 of 3 positions on the 2nd lap, and 1 of 2 positions on the 3rd lap, which only leaves us with one desired outcome for the 4th lap. That works out to (4! x 3! x 2! x 1! = 288). Which works out to 1 in 1152 or a 0.08% chance.
Scientifically, through experimentation we ran 4 Groups of car 12 times. Only today's race yielded a 4-way tie after 4 laps. That is a 1 in 12 (or 8.3%) chance.
That 331,776 number you have is the number of combinations for 4 cars over 4 laps with 4 possible finishes ... 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th. Again, that does not take into account DNFs. But it is not 1 in 331,776 because that would just be one possible combination that ends in a 4-way tie. There are actually 288 combinations that end in a 4-way tie out of that 331,776. So you divide 331,776 by 288 to get 1 in 1,152.
@@MarcusFiregone As I've seen four instances myself of this phenomenon, if you'll include this episode up to the end of the 4th lap as one such, your 1 in 1,152 is passing the "gut check" far more than 1 in 331,776 Thanks!!
Very cool! I’m excited to watch this over all those tracks! Good work Marcus!!

Awesome Racing! Nail biting at the End, The Racing Chart looks like a Attack Map! Well Planned and a Joy watching it executed for Top Notch Races! Thank you Marcus!
Awesome that you're expanding the tourney for us losers. :)
🤣
Like I said, I got a lot of really good cars this year. I eliminated a bunch of cars based on lap time but then in the 4 car races, some of the slower cars actually did better. And the 16 cars eliminated from the 12 Groups of 4 where mostly all very tight battles.
Can't wait for the racing to begin! Great job Marcus!! Keep up all the great work bud.
Thanks!

Hot Nuts burning up the track, an amazing points total for Craigster Sr today!!! Dirtus, wow, a herculean struggle to not be low man on the totem pole in this group, only to be immediately struck from the roster for low points. That has to be a crushing result for that team. Generally clean racing this time, few DNFs however those that occurred were pretty dramatic--another fine show, Marcus!!

Looking good so far 👍😎🏁🏁🏁🐅
Wow-wow-wow, Marcus! First time that I've heard the names of each section of Snow Valley East, loved that! Also, nice to hear so much about the car's racing history. Porsche is very well represented in my garage but I'm not "Car Guy" enough to know much specific on the brands, this was enlightening. Purely from a diecast racing perspective using the 934 Turbo RSR is stunning, brave & *bold!* As a group, Porsche appears to perform poorly and this casting to me seems to have so much working against it in competition not the least hindering aspects being the wide back end and asymmetrical width of axles. This WILL be a great challenge of building skill for certain!! Such commitment to the show, I couldn't bring myself to physically wreck that car for the sake of selling the severity of that DNF, unless I owned several others of the same colourway! Definitely here for this event, going to be a highlight of the weekend 💯😎🏁
Thank you so much for the detailed feedback. I do enjoy cars and learning about them. Watching these real-live cars race is a blast and the detail of the Hot Wheels casting is spectacular. I wish Hot Wheels would issue more variations of this casting, so far it is very limiting. I really enjoyed putting this racing series together and plan to run it again.
Super cool.
Ben Taxel really needed every point here, not to avoid elimination now but after this round is concluded. Fine job! Bob Loblaw, the premiere diecast racing lawyer moves on, yay!! 💯😎🏁
