I am so glad to come across these podcasts. I had already researched at great length n knew i had IH with blurred. I suffered toxic chemical exposure for 8 months that destroyed my lungs, had widespread inflammation body n brain. Gp kept telling me i was stressed. I developed multiple eye issues with rapid sight loss in right eye. Sufferering constant chronic sinus infections n recent attack resulted in pulsatile tinnitus, excruciating pain in my head eye n thumping pain coming out my ear. Went to emergency again i was told ear was fine n brain scan clear. I also have sleep apnea since chemical exposure plus developed chronic kidney disease, hiatal hernia, developed spondylosis in neck from continuous coughing for 8 months during chemical exposure but i think i may well have chiari or cranial cervical instability as a result of autoimmune response to toxic substances

since this week i hear my puls in my right ear. i hear the blood rushing. if i put my finger under my ear, it disappears.

This is an outstanding lecture from a true expert on IIH. The discussion is extremely clear. Dr. Patsalides describes data from his own research on stenting. I am a neurologist. I learned an enormous amount from this lecture.

Hey Dr Patsalides I have a question. I received two Transverse Sinus Stents, one on each side. I was wondering if you could please tell me how often I should be getting the stents checked? I was also wondering if I am allowed to take beef organ supplements or if I should steer clear of them because of the iron in them? I’m on 325 mgs of aspirin daily, and I don’t remember all of the post op conversation about the dos and don’ts. My Neurointerventionalist is not returning calls, so I’m not able to get this information. Please help answer my questions, I would really appreciate it. Oh, I got one TVSS placed in March of 2021 and the other in August of 2021. Thanks for your help!

Thank you, very interesting indeed! So glad for you Jillian that you finally feel better! My MRA was reported as normal but a superior semi-circular canal and jugular bulb dehiscence was found on CT. I do wonder if I should get Dr. P to double check my MRA considering Jillian also had originally been told her MRA was normal when it wasn't.

Equipment couldn't pick up the sound, but my mom and husband can hear it when they put their ear against mine. They were like omg. I have severe stenosis on both sides, my pressure on an lp was 29. Closing pressure was 24. Angio at Hartford hospital end of this month, but if i qualify for a stent, i may be choosing dr p to perform. So happy you got relief. I just cried hearing ur story cuz we are on this journey together. My anxiety is rough. Im a bit better in the sense of finally getting a diagnosis, but still nervous about moving forward ❤

Well I always want to ask one thing that I was awake or not...Because on the day of surgery too I dont remember exactly.

I have Venus Sinus Stenosis. I have had Tinnitus longer than I can remember. I have had a lot of ENT issues after having my ear drum and mastiod bone operated on there was an increase of pressure. And what seem likes a small possible leak when I exercise not really sure. That is when I found out that I had Venous Sinus Stenosis and based on imaging High CSF fluid I have had a lot of pressure headaches a lot of pressure in ears and pressure in my eyes. I can’t put all my diagnosis on here but I am being treated with medication 150 mg of Topamax not sure if this is the right treatment still getting headaches

Daniel, have you ever had an epidural? I had these exact symptoms manifest after receiving 3 epidural steroid injections in my thoracic spine. I have diagnosed IIH now and about to receive a stent locally

Does anyone know if an ear infection or even antibiotics can cause PT? I developed this high pitch pulsing hiss after an ear infection with fluid in the ear, treated with antibiotic, oral and also ear drop steroids. Steroids mad it 100 times worse when on them. It's been four months and it hasn't gone away as my ENT said it would.😫😫

I flew from North Carolina August 2023 for my surgery. For the past 5 years Nobody in North Carolina was able to tell me what going on with me (2 neurologists ,3 ENT provider, 1 oncologist/ hematologist) the worst one of the ENT refer me back to my primary care 😡 thinking that I am crazy.At one point , as a patient t in healthcare, I was calling all the shots demanding an MRI to be done twice , lumbar puncture and So forth…and they told me that I had silent stroke. AFTER ALL , TH-cam found me my MESSIAH ,DR PATSALIDES .

Thank you for your work in this field! My 20 year old daughter has a meningioma with the vein of Labbe running thru it. Her surgery became very risky so they had to close up after only removing a tiny tissue sample. She then had gamma knife. Sadly she’s still living with retractable epilepsy as a result of this tumor. Can you help her? She’s on 3 seizure meds and still no help. We are at a loss and would do anything to see her healthy again.

Mine was caused by a Dural Arteriovenous Fistula in the right side of my neck. About 8 months of torture, and fear of having a heart attack, I was Finally diagnosed through a neuro-vascular radiology procedure, and later treated with an embolization procedure, under sedation! It was Outpatient surgery, and the Tinnitus was instantly gone! I have another DAVF and a very small Aneurism we are watching. They are both intracranial, and would be more complicated to treat.

I need help. I'm being shuffled around. Live in Dothan alabama and been to Emory also Callahan Eye clinic in Birmingham. Have papilledema, losing sight but LP was low in August and everyone is just ignoring me. I'm weak, off balance, losing vision, pulsative tinnitus and feelings of the the back of my head beating to my heart as well. Creepy feelings in my scalp face and neck as well. I need help

I suffered for 10 years with pulsatile tinnitis.But end of my healing journey is so amazing. I wish more and more people from medical field specially ENT's Neurologists ,Neurosurgeons could be aware of this rare disease and the successfull surgery to get rid of this debilitating disease. Pulsatile Tinnitus is a symptom, not a cause right… so it would make sense to treat the cause of the issue, not the symptom.

I've had this on and off for years. IMO, Sometimes it can be related to fungal overgrowth in the body, head, etc. I'm taking an antifungal and doing natural treatments as well. I plan to make an appt with dr this week to rule out causes they can find. No jabs for me, ever. I am a very petite body type with very naturally low bp.

Have you ever done a random csf test Neuron specific enolase?

I've had pulsatile tinnitus for 6 months in my left ear. I did have fluid in my ear that cleared up. I have significant hearing loss. But i have continuous pulsatile sound in my left ear. How do i know for sure its not just hearing loss and might be from something like this. I am so miserable and it drives me crazy.

I’m 47 years old and have had PT in my left ear since I was a kid. In 2010 I had a large AVM removed from my right temporal lobe. By the time I was ill from this (having multiple seizures) I had forgotten about my PT. I just never thought about it until recently and researched that I could possibly have another AVM and I’m having real anxiety about it. I live in a rural area of Florida and our doctors are pretty terrible here. I had my craniotomy performed at Lyerly Neurosurgery in Jacksonville. Excellent care but my original surgeon moved far away. I wish I were able to be assessed and treated by Dr. P
