Hong Kong is the 2nd most expensive city in Asia and the 5th most expensive city in the world to live in but does that make it expensive to travel?
We spent 3 days in Hong Kong and tracked every single expense to see just how much it really costs to travel Hong Kong. From accommodation to food to public transport to visiting some of Hong Kongs most popular attractions, like the peak tram and Tian Tan Buddha. We also got to experience Lunar New Year for the first time, see how it is celebrated by different groups and join in the celebrations including the new years parade and firework show

One more gojo kitcat💀💀
id rather a natural river more north where the water isnt filthy
That’s fair! Although the water did end up being nicer than a lot of rivers we’ve paddled on but I’m sure there are some actually nice rivers further north
@@claireandcraigtravel may God be with you 👍
But matcha and cookies & creamwas my favorite❤
Matcha for me too 😋
But matcha and cookies & creamwas my favorite❤
300 flavours, wow that is crazy
Right!!
Very interesting !
What an awesome week! We definitely need to go back and do the rest of it! 😍
For sure! Next time we need at least 2 weeks!!
I LOVE your vibe, super chill and super super helpful!!❤
Thanks for such a lovely comment!! 😊
Woah
Just been there, done that and bought the tee-shirt.. 😂
I live in the neighborhood that's just beside marsk camp where you stayed at. Have a view to the tower from my spot at the table. So can see if any i up in the tower at all time. But yeah, it's a really great place to live. And the wind you get used to over time 😂
I didnt think Osaka was worth it. I think tis better to skip it and spend more time in Kyoto or tokyo
Oh really?! We actually preferred Osaka to Kyoto but Tokyo over both
We paid $1200 on accomodation for 5 nights. How did you get it so cheap?
Wow really? 😮There was so many cheap options available when we went!! We found all our accommodation on either booking.com, Agoda or trip.com
Hi! Where can we get the bikes?
Hi! We downloaded the app called ‘Anywheel’ (green bikes) but there is also another app called ‘HelloRide’ (blue bikes), you use the app to locate, pay for and take out the bike. These bikes are everywhere around the city so you should just be able to spot them as you go around but you can also find all the locations of the bikes and return points on the apps
@@claireandcraigtravel thank you so much 😊
Someome told me.for 2 weeks we need 4k dollars. I am legit confused, is it only the travel which is coslty or overall? 🫠
Completely depends on your travel style and what you want to do. We travel fairly budget so our costs are much lower than people who go on luxury trip to Japan. Activities can have a real range of prices as can hotels. Bullet trains are quite expensive so it’ll add up if you’re travelling to a lot of places quickly. Food is generally pretty reasonable but certain foods can still be expensive
As a Copenhagener it is good to see the west coast get some love. I really like Vorupør, Hvide Sande, all the way down to Ribe. The whole thing really.
We were really surprised by how little recognition the west coast seems to get internationally! It’s such a lovely area
Can you a video on perfect itinerary in canary islands ?
Haven’t been to any of the other Canary Islands yet unfortunately
Cool video and some really interesting places. I see what you mean about the sandy landscape - who would have thought that was Denmark! Thanks for the info, looking to go there myself sometime soon.
Hope you make it there yourself, Denmark definitely surprised us!!
Good information thanks.
Did you like the hotel? Im going there too
Yeah we’d stay there again if we go back to Shanghai, mainly because the location of it was really good!!
nice video thanks .. where did you find that map that you see at 1 minutes and 21 sec? Thanks in advance
It’s a great map, not sure if they still do it but we got it from the tourist information centre on Rømø
I like this list ❤
wow! where did you find the accommodations?
Mainly Booking.com, Agoda and Trip.com but a few times we did extend our stay directly with the accommodation and that tends to be cheaper since they don’t have to pay the platform fees
Pretty cheap total, good job.
Yeah China is pretty cheap
That lizard is huge! 😱
Definitely the biggest one we’ve seen! Apparently they can grow up to 3m 🤯
Wow can't believe these are all free!
Yeah other than the food, but that’s still very cheap, I was surprised how affordable Singapore actually is
So cheap, I want to go 😍
Our total in the Philippines (domestic) is 1000 to 1800 dollars and on international trips (excluding Singapore cause you know $$$$) is 2000 to 6000 including transportation
How did you spend so little on transport?
It doesn’t include the flights to and from Europe, it’s just the costs while we were in Asia so it’d be almost $700 more when you add that on
ii love CCP ,
Come back to Denmark soon. There is much more to see. Nice that you stayed longer. Yes Denmark is much more than Copenhagen. Try some of the small islands. Like Samsoe. Got some videoes from there. Nice following you guys.👌👍🏻
We did visit again since this video but only for a week and unfortunately the weather wasn’t on our side so we didn’t get to see a lot that time. We definitely would like to visit again soon, possibly this summer if time allows. We will have a look into some of the islands and at your videos, thanks for the suggestion 😃
Dreaming of Japanese sushi 😋
Us too 😂🤤
Flights??
We don’t mention flights because they are so variable. Even the same flight varies a lot in price depending on when it was booked so it’s not representative of how expensive a particular country is or how much it would cost you to get there from your airport on your specific dates. In this case we flew from Shanghai to Osaka and it was £60 but obviously it’s going to be a lot more if you were flying something like London to Tokyo - we know most people who see our videos are from Europe or North America so it’s not very useful for most people to see the flight cost just from one random country :)
Will you post a long video about travelling Shanghai?
Yes we definitely will be posting a long one about Shanghai, still editing it at the moment though
Wow its so busy!
Probably the busiest place we’ve ever been!!
@@claireandcraigtravel come to mumbai
This is about how much I expected for China
The Maglev train looks so cool!!
It was such a cool experience and soooo efficient! I hope more places start introducing them
More expensive than other nearby countries but not bad considering it was Chinese New year!
It was definitely a shock for us having just left Vietnam but agree it doesn’t seem too bad for new year
Seems worth it
Vietnam is South East Asia 😊
Yeah true, East Asia was just meant in the sense of east part of Asia as we needed to group Vietnam and Singapore with the rest of the trip (Hong Kong, China and Japan) and couldn't think of a better way 🤔
And that could be reduced by quite a lot too with different activities significantly lowering the cost. That’s insane how cheap it is
Yeah it really would be, almost half of the total cost was from one boat trip in Halong bay so when you take that away it’s even more insane
That pancake flip 😂
I definitely need a lot more practice 😂
Those puppies are so cute 😍
We went back again just to see them 😍🤩
Lol whoever called Singapore expensive has never come to the west.. or desperately wants to think Europe and USA is cheap. Housing and especially Cars are expensive (cars a LOT more expensive) than the expectation.. but food and transport is dirt cheap depending on where you go, and accomodation is decent.
The rankings are based on cost of living so I expect the astronomical cost of cars has really swayed the statistics but in terms of travelling to Singapore it’s definitely far cheaper. As you say food in particular is incredibly affordable, much much cheaper than the west
Looking forward to the next one 😊
Cheaper than I thought!
We were really surprised by how cheap the food could be!!
Thanks for another very informative video. I was surprised at the reasonable cost for your visit.
That’s very interesting to hear your perspective because at the time we felt it was very expensive but we’d just come from Vietnam so I think we’d just got used to very low prices. Now we’ve readjusted it seems a lot more reasonable
How was it for accessibility?? It’s a place I’d love to visit x
Hong Kong is quite hilly so that was a bit challenging but in terms of infrastructure it was good. I don’t know if we were skewed because we came straight from Vietnam but it felt very accessible to us. I’d say out of everywhere we’ve been in Asia so far Hong Kong and Singapore are the most accessible. We’ve spent about 5 months in Asia and that hotel is one of only two where we’ve actually had an accessible room. The trains were level and had lifts most stations (although sometimes hard to find on street level), the tram is old and is not accessible, we didn’t use buses but I believe they are accessible. Lots of drop curbs, lots of disabled public toilets, not all entrances to shops/restaurants were level but a lot were. You also are given priority when queuing. There wasn’t anywhere we wanted to go that we couldn’t get to. Hope that helps :)
@@claireandcraigtravel that’s great thanks - omg I would love to spend a few months travelling Asia, what other parts have you spent time 🫶 x
We loved it, would highly recommend it if you get the chance!! :) We also went to Japan, Taiwan, China, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore
That's actually cheaper than I expected, especially for new years 😮
Oh really? I was actually surprised the other way but we had just come straight from Vietnam which is incredibly cheap!
Great video, very concise!
Thanks :)
