Quickrete is a brand and not a specific thing. You are using mortar mix which is very different from concrete which is what you are saying you are using. Mortar does not have the strength of concrete and is not appropriate for this kind of application.

if my record player plays back slightly warped/distorted notes on certain parts of my records, will these imperfections show up in my recordings? I have a crappy victrola 8 in 1 record player(dont buy it its trash, you cant even adjust the tone arm). also say a record skips, will that show up in the recordings as well?

Using Audacity is a pain in the butt and not worth the hassle. I just find the 320kbps files online and leave it at that. True, they're not all vinyl rips, but you're converting them to digital anyway so any "warmth" you're perceiving is purely in your head. I miss the old days where I could just hit "record" on my tape deck and keep my records recorded on an analog format.

That record is pretty warped. Thanks for the demo though.
