I am a maker, and I love it. My videos are my way of showing people what I can do. I hope my build process is entertaining, informative, and inspiring. Go make something.

Noyel's Vise Jaws
มุมมอง 8K7 ปีที่แล้ว
I picked up this old vise for really cheap a while back. Once i finally got around to mounting it to my workbench i decided it needed new jaws. Buying jaws that would fit this vise seemed impossible and/or costly. Making them myself was the apparent solution. I hope you enjoyed the build. This will be the fist of many videos.
Where did you get the replacement ribbon cable? If any available anywhere since this is an old video =/
Merci beaucoup pour votre vidéo au top 👍
Very helpful, my Big Mini F was the same procedure exactly
hello where did you buy your flex cable for your big mini F?
good video! a little question... my copy of this camera says the battery is empty with a fresh one installed. could this be a sign of a bad capacitor?
would it be possible for me to send mine in and get it fixed for a price?
Thanks for the video. Last month the back buttons stopped working and after ordering from aliexpress, today I followed your instructions and got my camera working again. My grandfather gifted it to me in the 90s and I still use it regularly. As a note, I have the BM-302 (without the date backplate) so I didn't have to solder the 3 leads (which are left unsoldered from the factory).
Thank you so much! I run into the same problem but could only find repair tutorials for the bm 301, so I wasn't sure if the cable from the 301 would also work for the 302
@altf4174 glad to help. Mine still works great, I use it almost daily
may i ask whether the flex cable works for the big mini neo r?
Wow! Well done man. What a great video.
You should look into all the point and shoots Fuji medium format cameras that need fixing because of faulty ribbon that gets stretched because of door back. There are so many that need repairs and Fuji won't back up their crappy design faults, even for money ! And we would pay !
my konica bm_300 is missing the pcb, anyone know if i can find a replacement?
thank you very much
Hey there friend, where did you buy your ribbon from?
AliExpress around $10
Why didn’t u retap the existing holes?
Just ordered a flex cable for my bm-302 and gonna try using this video to fix it, wish me luck 😬👌
Well I’ve just opened it up and somehow (some god damn how) the main board where the ribbon cable gets soldered too has been removed… I’ve owned this camera for two years how the hell did it turn on and fire without a main board - got stung lesson is always get a good seller
Bruh 💀💀
There’s a tiny rectangular black “M1M” resistor on the old cable and the new one doesn’t come with it. Is it ok to leave it off? I tried to transfer it to the new cable but it’s too tiny to handle.
thank you for your infomation
Hey! Would you be able to fix my Konica big mini 201. It has a torn ribbon cable. I would love to attempt to fix it myself but am scared I’ll ruin it further. Would pay of course! Thanks
This was helpful thanks for posting, I was able to revive my A4 just now :D. Not exactly the same but pretty similar and no need for soldering in my case. Here's the link from were I got the cable in case anyone need in the future. pt.aliexpress.com/item/1005001667411369.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.52cd33135FYm05&algo_pvid=6bb873d3-5230-4545-9e34-b12e5e8e69e9&algo_expid=6bb873d3-5230-4545-9e34-b12e5e8e69e9-1&btsid=0bb0623616179115641983095e3ed4&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
i decided to be extra careful/safe doing this repair so i drained the flash capcitor and now the camera is dead. Can't quite figure out why. Maybe if I charge the capcitor back a certain level it only will it allow power to be delivered to the rest of the board...
Is there a way I could send you my camera and fix it for me? I’d be willing to pay you!
Hi, my big mini has a small piece of plastic in the viewfinder, do you think it's safe to just take the front off to take the plastic piece out? Thank you
Great job.
this is so helpful, I wonder if you know which flex cable is needed for the Konica Mermaid waterproof big mini?
Hey thanks a lot for the video. Where did you buy your tools? Thanks!
Thanks for sharing this tutorial 😃 I fixed my BM-201 today. A little bit different in comparesing with the BM-301 and with no soldering 😉
How with no soldering? 😧 my BM-201 has a torn ribbon, preventing from shutter/ power button working. Really want to try to fix it but I’m not too familiar with tools and delicate gadgets. Thanks!
Hi, I need to do the same repair to the bm-201, how did you do it without soldering?
I was able to fix my BM201 but the date back stopped working. I think if there is no date back no soldering is necessary.
Thank you for sharing, my bm-201 ribbon cable almost broke...... definitely need a new one...
Thank you so much for this! Would this process work for the Konica A4 as well?
where can I buy the things to replace?

can u do it with konica big mini 201?
If I had a body to repair I would. Although, I would image the process is very similar. Here is a link to the replacement flex cable if you want to give it a go. Good luck! www.ebay.com/itm/Function-keyboard-Button-Back-Cover-Flex-Cable-For-Konica-Big-mini-BM-201/264663329741?hash=item3d9f29ebcd:g:WnEAAOSwm69eag5k
@@n_oeil what about bm510z?
@@davidtadic4979 i have the same model. did you figure it out if it works with the ribbon cable he used?
i want these dices, how can i get those. can you send me via courier
I traded this pair with a dice maker in Germany.
Can you recommend a counterbore? The cheap chinesium ones I bought on amazon just rolled right the F over and barely scratched the surface of the soft steel. Very frustrating
I bought mine at a local tool store. I don't trust online dealers for products like that. I recommend you find someplace that specializes in tool sales and repair. They will have the best selections at a good price. The one I have is made by Sev Cal. It's a 5/8 Single Flute high speed steel 41 degrees. I hope this helps!
Noyel Gallimore thanks. I got a Bosch branded one that works great. One jaw down 1 to go
I'm curious if it's possible to re-use the existing holes?
Yea I'd imagine so. Mabye they need to be re tapped
Very nice. I have an old usa craftsman vise that needs this badly. Thanks for some good ideas.
Thanks! Glad to share some inspiration. Good luck on your restoration!
What grade steel did you use for the jaws and were they hardened/tempered?
They are hot rolled mild steel. Not hardened or tempered. This project was meant to be cheap and simple. I also don't really have much need for hardened jaws on this vise. I have other vises to do my serious clamping. Thanks for asking. I probably should have clarified that detail in the video.
That's a fine looking lamp.
