I think there is a place for every trail. its really a great piece of trail and super well built. It definitely caters to the masses and Bennet and the STF should be commended.

@@WarrenMelissaGoRiding I agree that the trail is well built, and caters to the 90% that do not frequent lines like Hoogekraal Hammer, Tokai DH4 or Plaisir, and I do applaud Bennet and the STF for that. I think what jboy9504 is getting at is that we are being spoilt in the Cape with the awesome selection of advanced jump lines. To my thinking, while watching you ride, I was stoked for you guys, but at the same time I just didn't get that sense of "oh my gosh I have to ride this trail". It's almost like the magic is gone. Too much of a good thing. I am even experiencing that at the locals around Tygerberg. Nothing entices me anymore. Just more of the same old same old.

Fair enough, completely understand. Out of interest sake, if you could build a trail, what would that trail look like? We really like different peoples views :)

@@WarrenMelissaGoRiding Take this line for example. I would not change much. Maybe a A and B-line with some bigger jumps, maybe some skinnys, a few rock rolls, the odd drop-off that progressively gets bigger. I would prefer a trail that is rideable by the masses to allow them to grow into it, but also add more of a challenge to established riders to also keep them coming back. If you take the Leatt Skills Park at Hoogies as an example, it prepares one to ride the lower part of the Hammer, and then outside of that line there is nowhere else that makes the same impact. I would honestly want more variety and technical type of riding, but being in the vast minority of that riding style in the Cape, its probably a pipe-dream. You look at a typical enduro race around here. Same people, same trails each time. No wonder it is not growing as a sport. Its as if the trails cater for the majority at the exclusion of the minority.

@@WarrenMelissaGoRiding Was quite looking forward to ride, have to wait for next year,, wanted to try the power stage, can't really practice it in normal conditions, I wonder when wil there be more ebike type events with more technical climbs and stuff

There are definitely similarities between Tokai DH0 and Plumber 2 - like how big the rocks are that you need to navigate around/over. I would however rate DH0 easier, as it is easier to carry speed since its practically all downhill. The moment that you go too slow it becomes really difficult on Plumber 2 and Plumber 2 is physically very demanding especially if you do it on an XC bike. Tokai DH0 is pretty short and not that demanding, however its first few meters is very challenging. I haven't done any of those 2 trails recently, so my own videos that I uploaded are from like 2021 for DH0 and 2022 for Plumber.

I've attempted a practice run yesterday late afternoon on Iron Monkey and Plumber, and Plumber 2 was rough on my XC bike (and also bad idea to have gone rockclimbing beforehand). I've uploaded the video late last night.

Unfortunately this hill doesn’t look as bad on camera, it’s 46 deg so super steep.

Yeah, having problems driving up that hill with an electric motor assistance and using propably the lowest gear. Never had that problem without that tech.

It’s 46 deg. We haven’t seen anyone make it up there. Was fun trying though 👌🏽
