@@gd_player0 it depends. If you're used to playing control play this. If you have experience playing glee then I'd play jund glee instead. I'm a big advocate for playing what you're most confident in, regardless of might be "best".

@@philippemori7156 it is very good. Not gonna lie. But I actually think it's effect on the format as a whole is largely beneficial. Blue blast no longer answers everything and it gives midrange and control a great board stabilization tool to help fight against red. It hasn't killed any archetypes only gave birth to more.

⁠@@saltandpauper I would argue that it has killed MANY archetypes. I haven’t seen caw gates anywhere, (blue blast and prismatic strands don’t do anything versus chrysalis), tithing blade decks are no longer very good, and synthesizer/Kor skyfisher decks as a whole have gotten borderline unplayable. I do have a significant bias, I played a lot of boros synth, mardu synth/gates, and caw gates, and they all feel unplayable now. Additionally, I feel that without chrysalis as a super powerful, compact backup plan, glee becomes more “all in” and easier to deal with

@raevimati7048 ok so there's a little bit to unpack here. But caw gates is the only deck you mentioned I think that chrys was actually responsible for drowning out. It may be a contributing factor to both boros and orzhov kor skyfisher style decks and for the decline of tithing blade but it isn't the reason they aren't good. Got instance of chrys was not in the format I think both of those type of decks would still have phased out. Caw gates you got me there. Deck suffered a big hit from a colorless and reach creature it couldn't really deal with efficiently. But journey still does a fantastic job answering it so I don't think that the only issue it's facing in the current meta. For the skyfisher decks. Both synth and blade chrys isn't the reason they're bad. It's the reason they're worse. If that makes sense. Synth really struggles against combo. It relies on being super efficient with cheap threats and constant pressure but it doesn't have a ton of creatures to play defense with. Needing to always have a blocker in case they make a 1k/1k lizard and attack out of nowhere really allows the deck down and forces it to play a losing game. The deck ran only damage based removal so glee combo really shuts them out quickly without a hard removal option. The reach much much less relevant against that deck imo as they could very easily swing into a 4/5 and trade a hawk + bolt for it if that was the only thing holding them back. And as for the fall of tithing blade I'd look at rumble much more so than chrys. Having a widely played card selection spell that provides a token that just sits there on t2 really shuts down blade alot more efficiently than chrys does although again I'll concede the point that chrys certainly doesn't help.

@@wars113 it honestly doesn't happen very often and the daybreak crew is very quick to take action when they can't be resolved. They have since banned both lead and tavern until after the holiday break when it can be fixed.

@@akuyara4420 ice yesterday's a bunch of decks with brave and never really been impressed with it. 3/3 indestructible is good but where kenku really shines is the flying imo. Without that it's pretty lack luster.

Wildfire is ramp and card advantage, brave is neither of those things I don't like it although I can see it as a tech 1 of if it fits into the meta

@@iamkrazy1 it's also slow. That pretty much was what impressed me about the brave. Also grabbing untapped red Mana to hold open galvanic turn two for interaction was relevant more often than I initially thought. If you have not tested it yet I can recommend trying it out.

@@matthewmagda4971 to be fair. While jund is very popular right now. Wildfire is wildly unplayed and more positioned as an anti-meta deck. I wouldn't call it a topera deck at all right now. And is in fact a good deck to play to beat most of the top meta choices at the moment. While I do still love making BTM (beating the meta videos) I just try to focus on and highlight cool or new decks. And just continue to spotlight different options as much as I can.

@@matthewmagda4971 I would argue that the 2 and 3 of even the 1 of in the sideboard has been meticulously spread-sheeted and tested card by card by both amit and Luke (I got a glimpse of one of their test logs) it's..... Intense! Haha. So I think it's totally fair to call the deck optimized. If anything a stack of 4 ofs generally would imply a lack of true optimization as the list would be more stock than the result of testing which will often result in toolboxes and small corrections instead of broad strokes.

The deck is full of 2 ofs because you can often draw quite deep into it and most of the 2 ofs are helpful cards that you'd rather only draw one copy of because they aren't too useful early. Blood fountain is powerful but not very good until you have dead stuff and mana to return and replay it. Nyxborn hydra isn't good until you have lots of mana but only 1 hydra for 6 bestowed onto a familiar can kill an opponent very fast. Evidcerator's insight is your 5th and 6th deadly dispute but also it's really important to play a couple of copies so you are less likely to run out of cards and flood out since flashing it back can help keep the card draw flowing. Lembas is a similar case because I can't play 6 ichor wellspring (also sometimes nice to have incidental life gain Vs aggro, surprisingly relevant). Toxin analysis is bad without krark clan shaman so only 2 copies in the main and usually the second krark clan shaman is redundant, the first one often wins the game and you can always return it with fountain or pulse. The 1 of pulse is the least optimised card imo but we decided that with snuff out main, we wanted a bit more lifegain for aggro matchups (which was valid imo given that I beat red twice and madness once at nationals) and the return effect is nice if they kill your Chris and now you have an even bigger one coming soon. Finally, the removal suite is 2 snuff out 2 galv blast because paying 4 life hurts so you can't run too many main and galv blast is very powerful but we already have KCS toxin to sweep and our Chris and hydra are bigger than their stuff so we don't need too much spot removal, just a bit to keep those pesky early creatures under control. We actually were running 3 galv blast earlier on but decided to cut the 3rd for the second lembas because we wanted a bit more consistency with the card draw

@@iamkrazy1 hey! Was happy to credit you. I was chatting with PauperDan and he gave me both your names when discussing the deck! Didn't know about walkers contribution when I filmed the video but Luke corrected me as well. And knowing his history with decks I totally recognize his ability to produce amazingly well-tuned decks like this. I agree that the deck plays a lot like grixis. That was my experience as well. (And part of why I like the deck so much!) I also came to the cut wildfire conclusion after playing that matchup just once in paper at one of my locals. Lol. So glad to see some backup for that choice!

@@Duke_LukeM thanks for weighing in! I have a couple more locals under my Belt on the deck now. And ouphe against enemy bridges was also super powerful. But agreed makeshift is a problem card to be wary of.

My first loss in swiss at nationals was to our friend and teammate playing affinity who drew munitions both games and I just ran out of damage because my familiars couldn't pressure their life total

Clockwork Percussionist has been popping up In Kuldotha Red lists since DSK dropped. It is an early beater in the game, then fodder for Kuldotha Rebirth or count for metalcraft when playing Galvanic Blast. It also gives you an impulse draw until end of your next turn.

@@keving.4650 kuldotha + bushwacker is also the bane of my existence and xlockwork just gave that deck more ammo to piss me off lol

@@luigiciotola91 for consistency sure you can absolutely add 4 more. But this configuration was set up to maximize fast kills and to do that sacrifices consistency for speed. Which means you have to pretty aggressively mulligan.

@@matthewmagda4971 I didn't discuss the side board or card choices for the main because I'm not the deck designer and from what I have seen online lately this is a pretty standard variant on the mill package. Largely the sb focuses on what are considered the bad matchups and doesn't worry about peripherals like elves and gruul. And if you haven't seen it already I'd definitely suggest checking out mengus workshop episode from last week as it shows the matchup and how to play it pretty well. With affinitys current list youre only facing 2 spellbombs total in the 75. Rarely a third In the sb. So if you play it smart it's actually very winnable.

@@benwierchowski3496 it is both of those things. But based on their speed of bans and willingness to allow the meta to settle before decisions. I think we'll just see the meta adapt. Poison storm I think will be one of the big any red decks. And if a black devotion deck pops up it will certainly target the red decks as well. And of course there gardens and caw gates both of which have good red matchups. Even affinity with krark clan + toxin analysis has ways to catch back up. I think it's good. But easily targeted.
