It was good to see one of the tournament trails ban it in 2025, which of course is what this intro was about - but I think those that like it will eventually overcome those that don't.

My tracker has some sort of depth finder on it at the console, I don't think I have ever turned it on.

@@honeycreekfishing LOL- it was not good - I am not a fan of technology in general, cell phones, I-Pads, Livescope. I personally think technology is making people stupid and lazy. I know that is a stretch, but people are addicted to it and don't even know it or want to admit it.

I hope you get out there and get some Pike in the freezer, I can't say I have ever even considered ice fishing - anything below about 45 degrees is to cold for a Louisiana boy.

I guess that little strip of Styrofoam thats goes around it works, it had to be pretty heavy with all that water in it

They are fun to catch - they make a run up the river every year, if you can get out there at the right time - you can get one on just about every cast

I typically use a Rapala DT-8 I was actually touching bottom coming off the river I think it's a pretty sharp drop- I switch up between the old school color and the pearl grey shiner -

I tried Pine Island first but could not find them there and there was a boat fishing at the turn into Pine Island do I went down river a little further - once you find them, you can catch them - Merry Christmas to you and yours Dayle, hope you and the family have a great day

Yep, Joe makes some really good stuff, I have not tried the wacky jigs yet but I do like his crappie jigs.

Merry Christmas buddy, those white bass make a run up the river every year, if there is a river close to you I would guess they are making a run up that one as well. Rattle Trap - Just like ringing the dinner bell- if they are chasing shad, its hard to beat that rattle trap.

It was a good day, those white bass are ok to eat from what I hear, but there is a red line of meat that has to be removed - other than that I think they are pretty tasty. I think those largemouth were gathered up for an easy meal after the white bass ran all the bait fish in that pocket

Thanks, I think they are about over it, we are supposed to be having our "Thanksgiving" dinner today- so I will have a house full. Yes, let me know when you get some chartreuse color - I actually ordered some similar of amazon waiting on them to come in - they called them walleye jigs but they looked the same to me.

I like the Brutus for pan fish, it works great, mine is a year old now and still going strong

Hey, hope you are doing well. The pond is full of those little guys, not sure where the crappie are but its to cold for me to look for them today. Since they lowered the level in the pond I suspect the crappie may have moved to some deeper water maybe, not much cover out there but a few stumps - I will get back out there soon and maybe I can find them.

sometimes I guess they want a small meal - especially when that water temp drops way down

The pond is still low, but I think this is the level it will stay at - it may come up a foot or so, but no more than that. I saw an otter out there last week, cool to look at but man they eat a lot of fish

Well, for catching dinks I guess it is - if nothing else it is convenient

I think I missed the flu this go round- but the season ain't over LOL - that pond if loaded with small bass, a 2lber is rare out there. They are fun to catch, hopefully I can find some crappie next time- still learning the crappie out there - not much cover or lay downs at all

Fun couple of hours fishing - no targeted fish, but I was able to find a couple small bass

It wasn't to bad, we usually don't start seeing real cold until late December - late January - but it is coming
