    Original bridge was wooden, is this constructed on the same site?

      The broken part of original wooden bridge can be seen in the JEATH museum about 100 meters away from the steel bridge. Not on the same site.

    Is this really the real site for the bridge depicted in the movie? The bridge in the movie set was a wooden bridge, in this video, it is steel & concrete (but the rest of the railway track in this video seems wooden). Hence my question.

      The actual bridge depicted in the movie (shot in Sri Lanka) was about 7km from this bridge. This is a much newer structure but it pulls the tourists in who don't really know or care about the details! Good money maker for the locals!

      This point is actually a bridge. The bridge was bombed in 1945 until it was damaged but was renovated in 1948

      I think I saw a different bridge and a museum. That bridge had side extensions which we had to run to to escape a train! Scary!

    The Bridge gets all the publicity, however, further along the railway track is on trestles and the rock face is cut away which is far more interesting and brings it home to you that this was built out of human labour and human lives.

     This is not not a buddist temples these are the temples dedicated to lord Ram from an India Story Ramayan return by Valmiki. Most of the Hindu temples in South asia is claimed by Buddist as their own. This was not their fault but due to their ignorance. there are many elements in east asia are working tirelessly to write off their glorious Hindu past. Still there is a place in the Indian state of Uttar pradesh by the name of Ayodya.

      Siam empire ruled by Buddhist King since before establish of Ayutthaya empire (Sukhothai the former capital). All of these temple dedicated to Buddha but Buddhism in Thailand is same as every religions that have some influence from other religions and beliefs. You can find same situation from Christianity in Europe. I'm sure this is common knowledge so I would say the one who ignorance in this case is you. You even confused Ayutthaya empire with khmer empire. Anyway no one in Thailand try to write off hindu past, we know many Hindu belief exists in our belief and know that lord Ram and story of Ramayana are Hindu belief.

    Hello! Wow, this is a really superb video. Your drone footage is excellent. i am making a (non-monetised) series of videos on finding and exploring various parts of the railway between Kanchanaburi and Three Pagodas Pass. I was wondering if I could use your drone footage in my videos? i will credit you and link to your video of course. Would this be possible?

    Its a excellent video using the drone. from Thailand to the Myanmar. The difficult construction had been constructed even if costing many war prisoner 'lives including indigenous peoples during WW 2. It deserves the death railway. The cemetry enabled us to remember the hurtful past memory. There is the cemetry of the UN solider who participated, died during Korean War at the Pusan. Thanks for your posting. S/korea🍒

      Myanmar or Burma is miles away from here! This is just crossing the Kwai in Thailand! don't be fooled by the tourist rubbish! If you ever visit here go to 'hellfire pass' --then if you have time go to the 3 pagodas pass in Singthongburi--that is the border town with Burma! Don't get fooled!

    Do we need permission to fly a drone there ? I go in 2 weeks and want to fly my drone. Please answer

    • @benvanboom8907
      @benvanboom8907 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jocelyn, The time i was there permission was not needed. I did speak to the local police about it though. On Tourist places like this (with many people around) i always tend to retrieve special permission because i do not want to have problems (wich i had in Morocco where drones are not alowed). Be aware that i have read that the Thai government now are not that flexible with drones anymore. I even think that now you need permission to fly in the whole country (or even to bring drones into the country, so ask with the customs when you arrive). Have a nice trip there👍

    I wish I had a drone when I visited this place. I went three times to capture different times and views. Check my web pages www.thailand-delights.com/page418.html You have managed to capture the place great with your drone videos they are beautiful. Well done. I have been all over Thailand over the years and I now have one of the largest websites in the world all about Thailand it is over 2500 pages. Sadly now after open heart surgery and getting on in years the journey takes its toll on me. If you intend keeping this on youtube I would like to add it to my website as a full page viewing, let me know.

    This was most excellent. The scenery from the air was beautiful, serene even. The final scenes in the cemetery are sobering reminder of the hubris of man and those that they try to enslave. Over 16,000 Allied prisoners lost their lives on the Death Railway and nearly twice that many indigenous people died as conscripts during the construction of the two-hundred and fifty-eight mile Burma-Siam Railway. Every mile is paid for with the lives of 188 people.

    Great video guys! I'm shooting out there next week. Was it difficult getting permission to fly a drone there?

    • @benvanboom8907
      @benvanboom8907 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Benjamin Andrews Music some of the sites you can Just go and fly. For the big one you have to go to the headoffice and pay a fee ($50) then you have permission to go at 06:00 AM and be done at 08:00 AM. Be aware that new regulation in Thailand says that you need a permit from customs to bring tour drone into the country.
