Fauna cosplay - costume and accessory tutorial
Hello everyone! I’m back with my last Fabric Mart sponsored video for 2021. Throughout the year, I’ve had a focus on comfy cosplay and versatile items that can be worn for multiple types of looks. For this project, I’ve chosen to create a cosplay based on an original character from the artist Jinxies.JJ (IG) named Fauna. In this video, we’ll go through the steps to create Fauna’s dress and vest, as well as the antlered flower crown and doe ears.

    • @krissy9570
      @krissy9570 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m obsessed with these wings and I have the same questions as you, so I’m just guessing here. But I’ll share my guesses with you! I saw a pair of scissors in the video so maybe those for cutting? I’ll probably go with an exacto though, or a combo of both! As long as you get the thinner acrylic sheets either of those should work fine! She mentioned a medium gauge wire, so something that will hold its structure, but not so thick you can’t easily work with it. My guess is maybe 12-16ish? Somewhere around there.

    • @sportzchik95
      @sportzchik95 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@krissy9570 thank you! I did try different aluminum wires, and none could hold the weight, even with multiple twisted together. Perhaps steel or brass would work?

    • @monsterswaltz
      @monsterswaltz 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sportzchik95 Hi! Aluminium wire really bends very quickly and easily, so I would recommend steel wire, the one you can find on hardware stores, instead of crafting stores! it needs to be cut with pliers instead of scizors tho, hope it helps!

    Stunning! I wonder if you could use vellum. It would be lighter in weight and probably cost as well. Not sure how it would hold up to the paints. Overall, not as durable. But a viable option? I was going to knit some but I do like these better! Are they very heavy?

    • @cocoasugarcosplay8078

    Honestly it looks super cute and comfy. Very simple to make, yet elegant in the end. 🥰 I like the idea of using the newspaper for your pattern making. I also tend to use leftover Christmas wrapping paper, as some of it has a grid on it. But Brown Paper sacks from the grocery store work in a pinch, too. 😂

    Hi your video really has me thinking I could put together some of my own wings BUT.. before I do I just have some questions and i know this video was a year ago so if you don't remember or don't know then that's ok! Also my questions might be kinda dumb so go easy on me 😅 1. What size paper did you use? 2. How did you know/decide on what measurements to use to sketch the wings? 3. Is that a silicone brush you used throughout the entire video? I'm guessing because it's easy to clean? 4. Do you think prism film would also work instead of regular iridescent cling film? Also do you think it would be too much to clash with all of the glitter? 5. I notice you traced the wings in red at first and then in brown after the film was applied was that because the red would be too bright? 6. Did you only retrace the wings after the film was applied on one side or both sides? 7. Did any of the glue from the hot glue gun come undone when you were wearing the wings? 8. Lastly so the "u" in the ubar needs to be just long enough to slide under my bra and that'll make it secure? Thank you for making these videos!!! 💜

    Hi, I started buying the materials and I used the link that you shared for the PET now my only question is can I do this with alcohol ink and still use the layer of acrylic iridescent paint, the firefly glaze and the modgepodge thingy 🫣 or should I stick with acrylic paint only I’m asking this cause I’m trying to make them more translucent with unique effects and what I’m afraid is that since I’m going to be tracing it like you did with the sharpie that it might ruin the lines when I add the alcohol ink with the blend solution. I would appreciate if you answer you are very talented and I’m glad I was able to find you ❤❤❤

    There are a few different ways to make wings but I've never seen one like this. The technique allows for so much detail and control in painting and with your skill the depth that you got into the wings was *incredible*. I love the cellophane wing style but most other versions I've seen are inaccessible to people who can't drop hundreds for big tools, thank you so much for sharing this technique.
