Last year’s increase in OAP monthly pension was significantly reduced by the extra tax they took as they did not increase the tax threshold. Are we expected to be “grateful? This is just a bribe to reduce the anger felt by pensioners over winter fuel payments being removed. I would love to see Starmer manage on my pension.

How can you tell pensioners how they will get a boost in their pensions, non pensioners think that the state pensions is not taxed but they are wrong and that is why your rant angers me pensioners are the same as low paid employees once they reach the I think is now a personal allowance of£12500 a year the anything over that you pay tax on even the state pensions so don’t believe that your pension will give you a boost if it does go up to £350 a week if it went up to this amount that would give you a pension of £18200 and you would pay the basic rate of tax after £12500 so it is not giving you that big a bonus and I doubt if it will happen

I don't know how to tell you this but it is the governments aim is to increase the pension so that all pensioners will come above the required amount for social help and they will be able to tax all pensioners. So they are giving the pensioners absolutely nothing. So what you are advocating is just a load of crap.

This is DECEPTIVE...NONSENSE. The UK has a long established formula for pension payments. Starmers left wing gov is just following the formula set many years ago. The UK pension is fairly low...compared with similar nations. Starmer has already cut the standard of living for most pensions by removing established fuel payments. Older people in the UK tend NOT to vote Labour (Keir Starmer) So in reality this gov probably sees this demographic as a target...Old people are vulnerable to this gov.

UK new state pension is due to increase around 4% from April 2025 from approx £11,565 to £11,995. This is no where near enough to live on so the Labour party have decided to take £200 or £300 winter heating allowance from approx 90% of pensioners. - Shame on every Labour MP who voted for that.

I am a 73-year-old pensioner and do not believe a word of this BS. He is hell-bent on scrapping the WFA so why would he increase the State Pension? They need to increase the personal tax threshold. I have a private pension which I now have to pay tax on. Starmer is not a man to be trusted and must be the WORST PM this once GREAT COUNTRY has ever had.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
