flying the new F9F nose gear doors
มุมมอง 12414 วันที่ผ่านมา
I added nose gear doors to my Freewing F9F-5 panther. 3d printed of course: www.thingiverse.com/thing:6824174 The doors seem to work well and also seem rugged enough.

My First FPV flight of my new Freewing F-9F-5 Panther from Motion Rc. The day before I had to no-event LOS flights to trim the model and check control throws/authority. It is a real pleasure to fly. takes-off and lands pretty easily for a jet. enjoy.

มุมมอง 2324 หลายเดือนก่อน
First Jet flight off the newly installed Geotex runway and the Wingnutz field. More work needs to be done after the sun shrinks it tight. taxiways from the pits, centerline, threshold paint and "closed runway" X's for full scale traffic. Geotex is 36.5 x 300 ft.
Spit Vs Spit
มุมมอง 6246 หลายเดือนก่อน
First couple of attempts to do some formation flying with John Tuten's new Flightline 1600mm Mk 9 spit with my Avios Mk1a (modified from mk5). John flew LOS and I flew FPV. He did not have many flights on this model before we attempted it and he was a bit all over the sky during the First formation flight. Second flight he did much better.

Freewing twin 64mm F-14 landing from both perspectives, from the FPV camera and the ground. High sink rate was not noticed on board but was evident from the ground based camera. gotta land a bit faster! but she was well controlled all the way down!

Description of some mods I made to a stock Freewing ME-262 Schwalbe (sparrow) to convert it to a "schnellbomber" and digital FPV. Model will eventually get bomb drop. Flies exceptional! and is pretty easy to land. 6S-5200mah is my usual battery. 5 minute flights.

Awesome video
Nice! I love the new runway. I've got to get back out to the field.
Great video. Thank you. Just ordered one
Looks good
You guys have a awesome strip to fly at. Beautiful approaches from either direction. You can fly anything there. Beautiful!!
ya, but approaches from the east over the solar farm are not allowed, so you have make what we call a "short final" from that direction
@@tomhuntFPV Did you have to work out something with the solar farm owners about flying your RC nearby? AFAIK, nobody owns the sky above them. Just as long as you maintain some 50ft altitude above or so and not do anything crazy.
@@RCGuyVideos no there is no agreement with the solar farm except that we're not to go on the property. If a plane goes down there I've got a person that I call and he goes and gets the airplane. Or what's left of it
As always, perfect!
very nice mod mate, looks very good on this little jet....not complaining here but i still dont understand why Freewing didnt made this an 80 or even a 90mm, i mean they already had a smaler one cheers :)
@@WarbirdFan66 yes I really wanted it to be at 80 mm too. Not really that much of a fan of 90 mm models
Great info! Great Video! Thanks..
Great flight Tom! For mild long range & aerobatic + headtracking like your jets, which one would you recommend, Walksnail or O3?
Did you make a video on how you made the doors?? Thanks
no, as it says in my description they are 3d printed and the link to the files is there as well and a link to the rcgroups thread on the thingiverse page. thx.
Were those FPV landings? RGS2010
Hi Russ, yes they were. It is doubtful I will fly this model any other way now. not easy to see LOS with the old eyes! (and all blue!)
EXCELLENT AWESOME GREAT TOM THAT'S THE WAY TO SHOW AN R/C ANYTIME THANK YOU. 🥃🍻☕️🌮👍💯💯💥✨️⚡️
So cool Tom ! Thx for sharing ! cheers from Austria Rudi
Awesome. Well Done!
Thanks!
Grumman even in retirement! Nice plane, Tom!
@@AndyDeMontana you bet. I have the free Wing cougar and 64mm f14 , the flightline tigercat, the avios albatross, hk hellcat, parkzone wildcat, the eleven hobby bearcat a goose and widgeon Kit unbuilt.
Thinking about pulling the trigger on this rig❤
you should, it is a great flying 70mm!
This deserves more likes😃
Nicely done Tom!
Many thanks!
This is absolutely amazing ❤
Nice! I am swapping out my 637TA receiver as well, for a flight controller.
Hi, I dont know how to reach you personally, The camera system you designed for the RQ-7 shadow is very good and I was wondering if you can share the design with me. Thank you
@@effencat I did that for legend hobby, you will have to get in touch with them. Thanks
Bloody brilliant Tom! Great video mate, you've got a new fan from down under. I really like the effort and energy you've put into making a great plane even more fun. I've downloaded the files you've got up on Thingiverse and will definitely give those snake eyes a try. I've subbed to your channel!
It's the first time I've seen a naval landing on an RC plane.
It's amazing that we filmed the bomb stuck in the ground
Can you tell the correct scale for this, everything says super scale. MkVB 10.01m wingspan to 1.450m = 1/6.9 approx is that correct, I'm needing this for a specific issue, Thanks.
@@warrenbarnard the wingspan of a standard Spitfire Mark V was 11.23m, not 10.01. 10.01 may have been the wingspan of the LF version with clipped tips for better roll rate. 11.23/1.45 = 7.75
@@tomhuntFPV Thanks for the response, much appreciated. Learn new ever day.
@@warrenbarnard you're very welcome, I probably have $800 worth of Spitfire books, bought long before this interweb thingy!
Are those from rc geek?
Awesome flight..I waiting to maiden mine…did it torque to the left upon takeoff? Thx
@@jaysrc it was manageable with right rudder, as any full scale would
what size did you make the snake eyes? i printed one out and it seems a bit small
@@RenegadeRCFPV the snakeyes are 1/10th scale, same as the model
@@tomhuntFPV My bad, I probably should've asked that question better. I downloaded the STL files and threw them straight into Cura and printed. finished bomb is 215mm tall. does that seem right, or is the 1/10th bigger than what i printed?
@@RenegadeRCFPV the body of the snakeye or assembled with the fins?
@@tomhuntFPV that’d be the full complete snake eye with fins attached, just the body is 155mm tall
@@RenegadeRCFPV I don't have a file with the fins attached, on my thingiverse page. the body loads at 154.7. when you use the 1/4-20 screw for weight it is only 145.7
Is this the original canopy? Looks clear enough.
The front was replaced with .020 p e t g but the rest is stock. See previous video
@@tomhuntFPV I'll see it! Thanks!
sick man hell yeah, I finally got my f14 ready to roll, full pan/tilt running iNav so full osd as well, this weekend. If yer curious Ill have the video out next week at some point, prob gonna release that one earlier than my normal sat at 10am

Love your videos Tom! I’m using one of your dashes in my yak 130 great stuff

How do you assemble the snake eyes, I’ve printed them but am a little confused on how to put them together

Amazing canopy on the F6f Tom. Any chance you could share the 3d print canopy for the little nugget?

You are such a genius dude, a stubborn genius but a genius non the less.😂 Love flying in your videos with VR googles. ( safe but fun.) Thank you so much for your channel i will spread the word about it.
Just watched this my Destek VR goggles. In settings / additional settings both loop on and VR on. It is like i am doing the flying. So cool.😮😊
Would love to see FPV on a plane with no cockpit or anything blocking the beautiful view. Could you make some Tom by putting the camera way upfront or underneath facing forwards. Most FPV block way too much of the view, I think. I just subscribed today.
@@myexperience_is sorry my experience that's not my thing. I like the The View From a scale cockpit rather than looking out into open space not knowing what I am flying. If you look at my channel you will see other models that I find that are not scale that I have the camera mounted in the nose
Thank you, and thank you for your videos.😊
@@tomhuntFPV could you give me a list of the in the nose videos so I can find them. And if I want completely open view videos would I be better off just getting a drone ( a mini 2 for instance ) and making my own.
@@tomhuntFPV Could you have a cockpit in view but make it a bit more minimal. Giving the flying view more take up space? Most people would want that soaring through the air view then seeing half cockpit and half open sky. Imo anyway.
Got to see these flying at Nall. I love the FPV and canopy work you've put into it.
Looks great Tom! Thanks for posting. Hoping to get mine in August......plan is to make fpv from the start
My son has the Seagull Tucano (Saito FA-125) and yeah, it's a Pattern plane all around. Super nice plane to fly, exactly as you describe this foamie. Missed you at Lehigh Valley in June.
