Thank you. I wish I had access to this video some 30 years ago. The “grease motor” actuator valve head of the 571’s AND the end switch had me completely lost when I was an apprentice electrician. Now I occasionally wire these for existing customers. Unless there is a home automation or other control system at the premises, I just use the Taco zone valve relay control unit. It’s a standalone device with 6 (or 4 or 8 - different models) zones. Extra internal 24vac/40va transformers and a ton of features. Run 2 cond from the boiler TT connection in the controller. Run a 3 cond from each valve to the assigned zone on the controller. And.. Run your individual thermostats to the assigned zone terminals. (R + W + Common). When a T stat calls for heat, the appropriate zone valve is actuated. There are LEDs on the front panel indicating the status of each device and system. Only $200-300 and it makes the installation easy for you, the homeowner AND the next service tech on site.

Can I use this drain if my sink doesn't have an overflow?

If after replacing this and the relay held at first making the pump run then after 5 minutes it turned off, no power was being sent thru again what should i look at

I have a similar speed queen and Just wanted to add my experience that may help others, that although you mentioned you rarely, if ever, replace the flame sensor it was actually the part that failed on my unit. My symptoms were that the igniter would light up at start up as it should but the flame would not ignite for 2 or 3 minutes, sometimes longer. If the door was opened during the cycle, the flame may not come on again although the igniter would still be glowing. When the flame did ignite it would stay lit the whole cycle until near the end of the timed dry. The flame sensor had continuity on multimeter (although had a rattle inside when I removed it that the new sensor did not have), but still was working incorrectly intermittently. I initially thought it was the coils, but replacement coils had same effect. Dryer now flames up at about 15 seconds after start up with the new flame sensor and dryer now working as it should.

Anyone know the canister replacement for this model? Mine snapped at the bottom when turning.

As Alex mentioned, the Caleffi PRV has a set screw to adjust water pressure from 0 to max, but he didn’t mention there’s also a dial with psi marking. So at 15, the dial shows 15 or if you want to have it 13, turn to set screw to the 12 marking on the dial. This Caleffi model also has the psi gauge after the pressure reduction stage to show psi within the system, to confirm system pressure matching the set screw selection.

Thanks for the video man! I ordered the part and fortunately it was an already configured board. I dont have to mess with the diagram and the little switched. Seems to have fixed my issue. Time will tell. Half the problem is knowing how to take the thing apart. I appreciate the tutorial. It was a huge help.

I saw you used a pressure elbow, that should be a drainage elbow. It is also not a good idea to sandwich plastic between cast iorn so I would have used no hub cast iron.

Nice video - thanks! Suggest turn the water on and check for leaks before installing the final trim piece and handle. (And, as others mentioned, don’t forget the silicon grease on the o-rings!)

That was the neatest pvc purple primer and cement application I’ve ever seen. It looks like a crime scene when I apply that stuff to pvc. Also never saw those hangers before. Great job.
