RCQM/FCMP: Jiaxin Yin: Quantum diversity in kagome lattice
Tuesday, Nov./12/2024, 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM (Houston)
Speaker: Jiaxin Yin
Institution: Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen, China
Title: Quantum diversity in kagome lattice
Abstract: The interplay between geometry, topology, correlation and spin in the kagome lattice has led to a diversity of quantum phenomena including Chern energy gap, tunable nematicity, flat band magnetism, topological charge order, chiral pair-density-wave, time-reversal symmetry-breaking superconductivity and spin liquids. We hope that such quantum diversity will eventually lead to the discovery of the third kind of macroscopic quantum phenomena in kagome quantum materials beyond superconductivity and quantum Hall effects. I will discuss our recent experiments along this direction.

Awesome! heterogeneous mixtures, like metal foam & ~carbon fiber, reduced phonon coupling, atomic printing. subatomic spintronics, synth atoms? anharmonicity, (lattice combo smashing & or maintained superheavy) permeable vacuum heterostructure? Helicity, Seebeck, or photon engines. graviton t-symmetry. HR STEM atomic imaging. Kikuchi lines, spheroid transparent Chladni plate?
Have we tried the tricks with the magic angle of graphene sheets or nanotubes along with high magnetic pressure squashing them?
Maybe should ask Xavier Roy
Sounds super complicated but very interesting
This video demonstrates why many-body physics is so difficult and fascinating at the same time.
thanks
