    Many days I find it easier to just hide away from others and not deal with people in the world. But I enjoy sharing Bible scripture and commentary often on Facebook. Is this adequate for bearing Christ's fruit of the Spirit? What's your thoughts on this type of fruit.?

    • @e3larryeiss

      Sometimes introverted people feel like they don't fit in this regard. Believe it or not, I'm much like you in this regard. I'm no activist, I an not interested in arguing about politics, and I often find conversation forced rather than easy. Father creates us each with different proclivities. It is He who produces the fruit. We simply bear it by allowing the Spirit to express Christ through us. We are not required to act like someone we aren't. That isn't genuine.

    I recall Jesus saying He couldn't be respected for who He was when he was back in His Home town neighborhood. On the cross He called Mary women. He told John to look after Mary, He said John this is your Mother, women John is your son.

    • @e3larryeiss

      It's true, He said that. He was talking about the fact that people close to someone often find it hardest to believe in them. Regarding calling His mother "woman." If a young man today called his mother "woman," we would think he was being very disrespectful. In His day however, Jesus was using a common title of respect for women generally. It is a bit unexpected for Him to have used it of His mother, and some (myself included) see this as indicative that a new relationship had begun between Him and Mary as He transitioned from being primarily her son to being the Son of Man. He addressed Mary in the same way again, from the cross when He said, "Woman, behold thy son!", referring to John, in John 19:26.

    Would it still make sense to pray to the Lord for healing, since others have indeed claimed they've had their healing prayers answered?

    • @e3larryeiss

      Certainly! Father has asked us to give Him all the things we care about, and healing is high up on that list. God is not our puppet however, so such prayers are not a way of forcing or coersing God to do our bidding. Our approach must be like that of the Lord Jesus at Gethsemane, "let this cup pass, but not my wiil, but Yours be done." We can trust Him absolutely to work good even in terrible situations we find most painful. His perspective is eternal. Ours is only temporal.

    I believe God and I love Jesus. Why do these scare me? When I was young, it made my heart happy. I believed I was blessed. Now I have hope that I am blessed but afraid that I am not. Why do I feel this way? Is it the liar or conviction?

    • @e3larryeiss

      It's the liar. Fear does not come from God. The enemy loves to tell us lies wrapped in A thin covering of truth. His aim is to make us ineffective. He does it by causing us to think that the good things God says about us and the blessings He has given us do not apply to us. He is the accuser and the father of lies. God calls you holy, blameless, and above reproach and that is what you are.

    • @e3larryeiss

      He sure thinks we're worth it. There is no need for us to do beyond what He empowers in us. Sometimes just our presence with someone is needed. We can always pray for people we care about or hear about, or have no idea about. But our value to Him is our selves. It's relationship. He's far less concerned with our doing.

    Amazing as this is EXACTLY what the Lord has been emphasizing to me as of late. The flesh which was once our master, from which we have been redeemed (we were bought with a price)., loves to scream and intimidate us into acting like it is still our master. But it has no legal right to us any longer. We can "look it in the face" and tell it so ... and the power of it fades when we do. We MUST remind ourselves of Who our Master *really* is ... our Lord Jesus Christ. It doesn't matter how often or how loud or how intimidatingly the flesh might scream at us to obey ... it is NOT our master any longer. It's just hard sometimes to not capitulate to its demands so used to obeying its voice, we are. 🙂
