How has the kobalt held up?

I bought one the same Under another brand. I broke it right away and couldn’t get the seal out. Ended up the using the claw of a hammer

I had the 12V a few years ago, the DCF901B with the 1/2" anvil. I was amazed at how powerful it was. I decided to stick to the 20V platform, so I sold it and got the DCF921, which has been great, although it's a lot heavier, and it's a lot taller too. If you're open to the 12V platform, then definitely experiment with the DCF901B. Definitely punches above weight.

That's not even a test for the 996, the drill is a monster for an 18 (20)Volt. Really glad to see you using the side handle because that drill is more than capable of breaking a powerful man's wrist. An absolutely fantastic power tool in my humble opinion.

3" T25 fasteners don't impress me. A subcompact drill can do that. By the way, you should have kicked it down into speed one the first time it cut out. That's probably why you destroyed it.

I run mine with the new 15 amp batteries and I can run a small 85 amp welder with 1/16 rods and I can also run 2 fridges a freezer ,2 ceiling fans and a few lights for about 5 to 6 hours

Problem is one set is much taller than the other. The tall one wouldn't fit my shallow drawers. I really didn't want to give up my deep drawer.

I've got a set of Irwin "the original vice grips". Complete junk. The teeth stripped out bad and there's a mile of play in the pins. They must use cheap chinese steel and then mark them up because of the brand name. Project farm did a torture test of a bunch of these. Shame the harbor freight ones didn't make it into his video. It seems like the actual original ones by Peterson made in Dewitt Nebraska beat all the competition, even snap on, by a landslide.

The inserts have to stay in their specific place or the lid won't close/fit..

How Much Is It & Where Did U Buy It From?

Upgraded from an older 18v kit. th-cam.com/users/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

They have a true spanner on the side - not the upper teeth. The side spanner wrench is actually as good as it gets for a set of lineman pliers.

As someone mentioned in the comments….. this is a knock off of a U.S. company called Ernst. Ernst is made in the USA.! And they have a huge selection of tool organization products.

It looks like you could attach the normal drill bit set like holder thing the plastic part that pops in and out into the cups

Never remove more than two bolts from the wheel if the car is not on the jack stand !!

Love this setup, just picked up another today. My old one has the plastic lock downs. I moved the bottom drawer to the top, that way I can put more in it and squish it down with the lid and tray above. With all the stuff I have in it, I call it the most dangerous tool kit in the world. I for one appreciate sticky drawers than loose ones so they don’t fall out easily when traveling. The sockets have hardly ever gotten scrambled when moving it around while closed. It’s not the greatest but good enough for my needs! Appreciate the review!
