I cannot fault any of your logic. Rabbit rarely is big enough to actually protect anything up front. People who use Scorpions normally feed them enough to survive a very weak pet. Peacock probably has the best buff of the 3 as it buffs every time it takes any damage. Then Hippo & Rhino have to eliminate a pet to buff. That is why a level 2 or especially a level 3 Skunk can be catastrophic (level 2 removes 66% hp and level 3 removes 99% hp from the highest health pet). Even a 50/50 Hippo will not survive against a level 3 Skunk's ability being left with only 1 hp. Boar would possibly be the best pet if it didn't show up so late. So, for me, it really comes down to two things normally: 1) when the pet shows up; and, 2) if we can get it fed. If a Hippo shows up right before the Rhino is available, I'm probably holding out for a Rhino. Or if a Hippo shows up right after we started building a Blowfish, I'm most likely skipping the Hippo. The Peacock is different in that it's a very early pet. So, I'll be grabbing those more in the future, but might be dumping them if a Blowfish or Hippo shows up before the Peacock gets too big to discard. Since the Peacock & Worm arrive at the same time, I'm basically going to take whichever I can get. I'll still gravitate toward the Worm if I had to choose just one, otherwise I won't be passing up Peacocks looking for Worms very often. I must credit you again for getting me to reconsider strategy, along with a little luck the new strategy the past couple days has really been paying off--thank you.

THAT i did not pick up on (/facepalm) NOW it all makes sense.. yeah, you're making alot of sense with your decisions. and yeah, the boar seems awesome aswell, but its a shame it shows up so late, namely after you've built up alot of your team. ur the one doing all the hard work and having to suffer the in-the-moment irritation, not me. :) i'm just a bystander acting like a smart-ass after the fight, so no credit due here, bud there's a saying in romanian that covers it pretty well, translated it goes something like "there's alot of heroes that pop up after the battle" i think it might be the equivalent to "hindsight 20-20" :)

@@ceciliustront3250 I wouldn't pick up on a fraction of what you have figured out if I was only watching and never playing... You've really expanded my game through some of your insights.

I need to stop being so complacent after early victories--I have a tendency to lose any competitiveness after a win instead of ramping it up and trying to keep the momentum going--in gaming and life. I'll try to maintain focus and intensity next time I get an early win and go for the trifecta. Seems the Hippo nerf was probably necessary and not as bad as I first estimated.

Sorry I don't know what to say, Gio. I've given up on this game. Wasn't really enjoying it enough to hold my interest. I hope you can get it sorted and find the fun I couldn't--good luck!

My hardheadedness really ruins too many runs in the early rounds. I always think if I buy a Peacock, that's 3 coins I could have spent looking for a Worm and/or Rabbit (depending on the availability), and so I almost always gamble (and often lose). Tonight I'll do another Peacock build (I'm actually going to try to skip the Worm for at least one game to see if the Rabbit can be as effective without the Worm. Thank you, Ceciliu, I'd have probably given up on this series a month or more ago if it wasn't for you and Demvare!

@@aneoid6323 wtf! why would you give up on it? it's entertaining! at least watching it is :) dunno how pissed off you get internally, but from the outside, it's fun. even when you get mad at the rng, i chuckle :) honestly, i've watched others play SAP but not longer than 4,5 days. with your series i've been watching for over 3 months now. ok, maybe i don't manage to watch right when you post the video, but when i wanna relax i roll a j and binge whatever's left. maybe it's your asmr voice, maybe it's your hardheadedness, maybe it's cuz your an old fart and i wanna support you and see an old fart succeed in building a channel, maybe i'm a bit jealous that i haven't managed to be as diligent as you have with posting videos. maybe it's all of the above, dunno tbh. i just like watching you kick ass in SAP. i only follow a handful of ppl on youtube, but not all of them with the same consintency (?, en not my 1st language) as your SAP series. so, please, don't retire the series!

I do not plan on quitting the series any time soon, I think I was trying to say you and Demvare have encouraged me to take it beyond how long I thought I would have kept it going. And please feel free to watch when/if you like, and skip nights--I'm honestly not doing this for views. I've been way over the view hours needed to upgrade the channel, it'll always be the subs that hold me back. Which is fine too, I'm only creating content for fun.

Yeah, I really will be focusing a bit more on Hippo (if I find it early enough) and just praying for a Tiger to show up later.

@@ceciliustront3250 Well thanks to your hardheadedness, I'm bound to be grabbing more Hippos (and maybe even a few Peacocks) from here on out. The Worm is officially downgraded to only when it presents itself--not going to waste a ton of coins searching for just a worm very often any more.

The competition were all really well built teams, and technically those types of teams aren't what we are building to compete against. I'm actually starting to wonder if I'm not having such difficult nights winning because fewer people are playing with low-level summoning builds at the end. Honestly I don't know why I did not think about this sooner. Might have to consider redesigning and adapting our build strategy. Maybe Hippo gets more action soon. Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Hello, Zayne, I actually have never even checked the analytics for subs before. Took me a little while, but I found the channel has been growing by an average of 30 subs per month for the last 7 months. (Basically this was when I switched from Xbox to PC gaming.) Technically it's probably closer to 60 / month, but I also found almost 1/2 of the people who sub have unsubscribed--so there's that. However, going back farther, between late August 2022 until October 2022 the channel did grow by around 200, so maybe that was what you were referring to. I was going to try to make a push to hit 1,000 subs by year's end, but I have no idea how and I'm not sure I'm overly motivated to force/rush channel growth. Extremely well explained, thank you, Demvare. My issue was I was unsure what level each needed to be to be effective, and which to level first. I still vow to one day read the wiki pages on this game, but that day will NOT be today. Enjoy your weekend, and thanks again for the knowledge.

@aneoid6323 I still haven't read any wiki pages about the game, I feel like SAP is explanatory enough with its mechanics that the wiki isn't super necessary, unless there's some niche corner-case stuff, or just not-well-explained things (i.e the lines underneath numbers referring to temporary stats) With a Dodo/Crab, the leveling isn't required, but a Level 2 Crab makes your rewards for beefing the Dodo become a lot more worthwhile and feel a lot more meaningful. The dodo to level 2 isn't super necessary, as by the time you'd have it maxed out it's probably still making itself a 30/50 (assuming you're using a Rabbit specifically), and a 15 Power buff to the Crab is still quite good. But, of course, a higher level Dodo is still always better. The Dodo is also nice because it's a very pivot-able pet. You can have it sit behind a Hippo, Rhino, or especially something like a Leopard to get some real value out of it. (Leopards being a good target for the Power buff because it attacks pets pre-battle for damage equal to its Power, very easy to snipe some high-health pets when it starts the battle by shooting a few 30+ damage rocks)

Yeah that second game really came together nice, after losing to the low-level summoning build, I was worried the win was slipping away.

No doubt, I'm still probably doing better than if I were playing online checkers though...

Hey, Jayden, yeah this was one of a few times where PWS got me a little frustrated (another was the missing hatch when cleaning the rover, and the gold medal challenges on console were by far the most frustrating). But you know what's great for relieving annoyance and frustration--PowerWash Simulator! Seriously, hope you have fun playing

Last night was a pretty amazing streak of luck--even the Peacock build could have been a win, just bad luck drawing that final opponent in Game 1. Rhino will probably be nerfed at some point, much like the Hippo was, but even nerfing the Hippo makes no sense when you realize that practically any team you build in SAP has a perfect foil that will wreck you and it's all about who you face at which round. Level 2 Tiger behind a Level 2 Rhino is nasty. Need to get level 3s again one day... Hope you have a great weekend, Demvare.

@@aneoid6323 I don't recall what Hippo was pre-nerf, I assume it just triggered infinite times per turn? In that circumstance I can understand the nerf, a high-level hippo can very easily eat any somewhat low-to-the-ground stat-wise build without trying. Rhino is a bit harder to nerf, because the Level 1 already feels just... fine, but level 2 really amps up the damage and makes it feel meaningful. And tigers just make every pet broken, lol You have a great weekend, as well!

@@Demvare Yeah, I believe Hippo was infinite. And I kind of get it too. Tigers are pretty awesome & versatile.

I'm going to try Peacock again soon, that was too close and could have been a win against a weaker team. I just double checked and the TIger does nothing behind another TIger. I actually used to do that, multiple Tigers behind Skunks & Rhinos, until I realized it was not working. But verifying is good because I was wrong about the Pear the whole time. As for Tiger-Rhino, if you can even get them both up to level 2 they can be devastating, level 3 is like a wrecking ball. But that's the beauty of Super Auto Pets... practically any team you build has a perfect foil that will wreck you. So much of winning just comes down to which opponent you face.
