When Shadow defeated Egg Falcon, Rouge called in and was about to reveal the identity of Eggman until she's cut off. Shadow tried calling her back but to no avail and the next thing he knew a light flashes him and was teleported to the next zone where Sonic explains their predicament. Seeing they're both after Eggman, Sonic declares a race to apprehend him. This time, Shadow out-run Sonic and confronts Eggman and demands the status of Rouge, and the doctor responds by showing a card. Shadow did not have time to think as he sends Metal Sonic to attack him but he go away. After the race, Shadow piece two together that she discover Eggman's secret but was transformed into a card by him before she could reveal it. Puzzled he decided to confront Eggman once more in the next zone but Knuckles appears again, asking about Eggman but he just ignore him and mocks him again and so they race again in Crystal Mountain Zone. They reach the end of the icy mountain where they confront Eggman as he demands to know where Rouge is, only for him to be shock as he pull a card of himself but Knuckles once again cuts in and demands answers as well, but the agitated scientist arms his Egg Lynx to crush those annoying pest.
