Complete Clutch Re-Teach - 450 smart fortwo or 452 smart roadster
Without realising the clutch is often taught incorrectly or not at all on a 450 smart fortwo or 452 smart roadster. The following video shows the flawed method (which the majority of people will inadvertently use) followed by the complete way to teach the clutch using a MB Xentry (Star) Diagnostic Computer. I show the incorrect method first to demonstrate how the values do not always save to the EEPROM memory. This is not always the case but is more often than not. Either way you need to check the actual values afterwards to determine if it has taught completely or not and if not, follow the method given to ensure it is properly taught-in.

Thanks for the video :) I have a question, when it is glued do I need to remove the old glue and do I glue the small plastic clips in to the pocket ? Best Regards Allan
Mate, what glue we can use ? A good proper one? Also on my Roadster one of the roof liner holder has no glue , I mean there are still some glue spots on it which was factory one, and now one of the line holder has loss. Also one clip has broken on passenger side by the other side is ok. This hold liner makes roof issue to open and close. I was thinking to exactly,glue it on factory glue, and leave the clip which is broken , might help to solve the issue!? Maybe not ? What you recommend mate? If I buy a clip for it, requires more job to do. As all clips on the same line and I can’t just place it. I have to take off all other clips line holder to place this one?! Indeed do u have any idea to repair the paint or clean it with what!? Thanks for the video , was really good info

On the video you show the beginning of the roof tensioning - It's easy to get there. How did you get into the roof tensioning, from the trunk side? I have to somehow replace those tensioning links, and the only problem with that, I do not know how to get to them.

as far as the adhesive for the tarp coming off in the front..? what did you use? Thank you
