Yeah I agree it was a bit of a dive! No hard feelings towards the marshals though, they’ve got to make a split second decision from a distance, so it is what it is. No points on the line or anything so it was all in good fun. I pride myself on racing clean so I did give myself a little talking to afterwards 😂

Yeah I think that’s the Sodi electric karts, TeamSport mostly run them but a couple of their tracks have these Biz karts. I think with the Biz karts you just press the button and it boosts for 5 seconds in one go... I could be wrong though 😂

I think it does, but I also think we were on speed 3 for this event (I could be wrong there though!). Having said that, this is the first time I've properly noticed the speed increase it when I use it 😂

As far as I'm aware, sodi karts version of speed 4 doesn't have boost as it is effectively constant, but biz karts do have the boost button on speed 3 and speed 4 raising the top revs by 300 for a duration.

Interesting... does boosting in the Biz karts actually increase your top speed then? Or does it just give better acceleration up to the kart's top speed?

@@thepitlanecollective I believe it is both, you definitely feel the difference coming down the ramp

It definitely does do something - the way it's been described to me is the boost is the same for speeds 3 and 4, but it feels less impactful on speed 4 because the top speed is naturally higher so is harder to feel

Yeah it takes a bit of getting used to! I do have to say that after a few races there I feel like I got the hang of them more. Still prefer petrol karts, you’ve got to drive the electrics very differently but it’s fun when it clicks. Boost is random as hell though 😂

@@thepitlanecollective did a couple more days, got my PB down to 53.4, massive progress, now just working on the best line, cleaning it up and learn to carry the speed through the corners, also a marshall told me the boost button resets every 55 seconds, hope that helps.

They’re so chaotic it feels like it’s a roll of the dice whether you make it through or not 😂

Great track isn’t it mate! Usually I leave it open a crack at the bottom, and make sure the vents are all open. You can get anti fog sprays for glasses which I’ve used before and they’ve been pretty decent but as long as there’s ventilation and airflow it should clear when you get moving!

Absolutely pal! As soon as I got out of the kart I knew I needed to grab some new gloves 😂 these old things aren't really upto the job anymore! Yeah I think I probably need to adjust the pedals so I have to reach a bit further for the brake - barely use them in Warrington anyway so I'll give that a go next time I'm there and see if it helps things slightly. It's more annoying that you need to come off and back on the throttle - I'd understand if it cut when you tap the brakes, but it's the fact it just stays cut even when you're still at full throttle that gets me 😂

@@thepitlanecollective I'd already driven the sodi's at reading, but driving them straight after the biz ecovolts just absolutely cemented my feelings that they are just so much better!

@@thepitlanecollective It is Warrington, but I just started going consistently two times a month about 2 months ago, so I’m still improving a lot every session. Hopefully next time I go I’ll be down into the 53s at least! I am also looking to go to three sisters again soon just to change it up so maybe I’ll see you there
