Blue Angels USNA 05/22/2024 short
Embarrassed to admit I got the record button out of sync and paused while meaning to record and record while paused so I missed the majority of the show....downside on not seeing the display in the bright sun. Fat Albert and Blue Angels (Note #3 was out most of the show today...assume maintenance).

1500ft, not too shabby for a lance. Im up in ABE! , I'd recommend against making power adjustments until you're high enough that you're willing to lose the engine and pull a 180° turn.
Thanks for the feedback. That has been a discussion I've had quite a bit with others including my CFI. I am now holding off on changes closer to 800-1000' AGL.

What was the beeping sound when you were turning base to final? Gear not down, flap overspeed, autopilot disconnect or Apple Watch needs charging?
It’s the AV-20. It announces an alarm based either in AoA or bank angle at slower speeds. It’s a bit annoying at times and sensitive in turbulent air.

a couple pointers.. get rid of the distraction on the dash.. keep your right hand on throttle when landing.. if you dont have enough back pressure with your left hand, thrown in some up trim.. but not too much.. just enough to help
Fare comment, it's a habit I picked up and have gotten rid of after flying a heavier T-tail that loses authority at slower speeds.
By any chance, is this Kupper airport? I took my first ride / lesson there. Paid a whopping five bucks. Now I’m a retired corporate pilot with find memories of my early years.
Well, after a bit of Googling, YES. Central Jersey was formerly named Kupper Airport. I imagine much of the surrounding area has changed.
My only critique was the approach was just a hair fast, I understand the coming in faster to protect against the gust factor, but due to the steep approach you didn't really need all that much power in, just a little when needed to counteract the gusts. The only other thing I noticed were the really sharp pull ups just before touchdown which, at least on camera, didn't seem necessary, a little pull and some power sure, but that looked like a yank to me. Overall, smooth touch down given everything!

Nice job. I did my first solo in a Tomahawk. N2526B. This was 1992 at KILG. Good memories.
Did mine two years before that. Love the Tomahawk, such a great plane to local flying.
@@msabol01 yup, I loved it. Haven’t flown one since 1993. When I became a CFI, it was all Cessna products. I enjoyed the Tomahawk so much more. Felt like a real airplane.

Thanks....probably overkill for a PA38, but very capable and makes instrument flying much easier...lot of info on those screens even compared to G5s.

Came in on RW-10 25 years ago at night and there were hundreds of little blue eyes all over the runway. There was a huge heard of deer. Did a low pass, they scattered I landed. Scary sight to see.
Yeah, that is always a concern at most these airports at night.

@@msabol01 Residents of Dover Delaware must regret they are not the Dover named in the famous song written by Irving Berlin and so loved by the English as a beacon of hope (when they were beseiged by the German Reich in the second world war). Emigrants, when they settled in new territories often named their towns after the towns they came from originally. They did not realise that when communications became more easy in the future this would cause confusion. People in the USA and Australia which were settled from Great Britain should bear this in mind when they make their posts. TH-cam is international, not just in the US and is seen all over the world, so they should make it clear EXACTLY where they are.

The airshow is supposed to be about showing us what our tax dollars go for and for recruitment purposes. Almost a trillion-dollar military budget! You'd think food would be reasonable there or free? Nope...$20 for 4 chicken strips and a hand full of fries? $4.00 for a 12 0z bottle of water? My behind is sore after that trip yesterday. You got me once, not happening again!
That's what happens when private enterprise becomes the manager for the venue. They also pay an expense to book military teams like the Blue Angels or Tbirds. The airshow is not subsidized by the government.
Wow last time I saw them in person was 2019 which was before they transitioned !

Was just thier 3/30/13 for $7.00 U.S each adult . Rude staff just walk around and pertended they are doing something. Lady at the counter Very rude she told me and my wife not to walk on the run way becasue planes land and you know what could happen. Every plane in the one hanger is junk not true fighter planes just trainers or very light air craft not real WW2 fighters anymore saw a bomber but far side of the hanger . They must have sold all the great stuff . Stay away if your mid age Kid's ok

@mj2w1 So majority of Bradleys don't use Cummins engine? Don't use the Bushmaster chaingun? Cmon man, admit that at most, the BAE polished the bradley's guts, but no more.
