why mylar😭😭😭
W show, W technique, work on doubles a lot more and buzzes. Doubles need to be identical to how they would be played alternately, and buzzes need to last longer and not be short.

@@edsaga1141 director likes the sound of it more 🤷🏾♂️ we use Kevlar in indoor, so this builds our chops (similar to what james sparling did at scouts for spring training)

The story behind it is our practice field is a parking lot, and few years ago one of the seniors painted their parking space to be pickle Rick, so every time we weren't playing and we're by that set we'd give a pickle Rick vocal😅

@isaacbrecht4015 Yes, we do! I explained why in more detail in one of the headcams from last year (I Wan a say it was a snare one). The tldr is the guard staff 20+ years ago or so, pitched it because it was more natural in the real world and made their stuff easier. Perc director was a fan because right foot on 1 and 3, and left on 2/4 transfers to drumset really well

Yikes. I know it's early but that's a lot of dirt. The tuning of the snares is horrible. Sounds like a wet, hollow garbage can. Get it together, Roger. lol
Roger isn’t the sole person behind the bluecoats line. Also this is quite literally the first video I’ve seen of them. They have 2 more months to clean up, this isn’t far off from how most groups premiere. Judging tuning off a video from the side, on concrete, with 8 as opposed to 9 is kinda dumb

@@bocivus328 people tune the drums for the stadium. The lot doesn’t matter at all. I guarantee those drums cut and are very audible to the judge. My point remains.

obvs sounds pretty rough from the snares. it’ll get cleaned up by the end of the season (who knows by how much tho). always good to see where groups start, in terms of writing and execution. hopefully the members look back at this vid in the future and be proud about how far they’ve come

@matthewjohnston8504 thank, but I'm gonna be honest, I won't... I've been working my ass off taking lessons and playing tenors, getting offered contracts on tenors with some open class lines, and then I get switched to snare :| Edit: I will do everything I can to enjoy myself this season tho!

what's the drumhead? and is it high tension
I'm pretty sure they are remo Power Stroke 77s...I don't think we tune then super high, but I also don't think they are super low so medium tension maybe? I'm not very good with tuning (YET!), so I may be completely wrong...I'll check with my percussion director next time I see him
