The difference is black and white. In the pre-DBS portion you can clearly see your frustration/exasperation before you comment on it. I used to use back button focus when photographing which, if you don’t know, involves using one of the buttons on the back of the camera rather than the shutter button to focus. It involves a squeezing motion with the right hand. This, along with left hand tremors, definitely brings challenges to holding the camera steady.

I just saw your article on the news. Thank you for sharing! I am going to Rush for the first time this Friday because I have a tremor in my head and hands too. It makes life unbearable but no medicine or botox injections have helped. I haven't seen very many people talk about the deep brain stimulation and I am hoping the doctor will talk about it when I see her. I live in Peoria so it's a bit of a drive, but I am encouraged seeing your videos that Rush will be able to give me help too. Following your channel now!

I’m considering having the surgery I play guitar as well and I am becoming increasingly frustrated every day to the point that seething with anger because I can’t play probably what I used to play I would love to be able to speak with you to ask you about the surgery and just get some better insight on that and actually speak with someone who has had the surgery rather than just watch videos I would consider a great honor to be able to talk to you. You’re a very brave person for having the surgery and I really enjoy your videos. They have given me hope

Maybe a plastic fork would do better so you don’t lose an eye 😂

With my DBS surgery, I still have to use weighted forks, spoons and knives to eat normally. With the stimulator off, watching you eat would be like seeing me in a mirror!

Is the difference between DBS on and off purely physiological, or is there a mental clarity difference too, and if so, do your thoughts behave differently? I'm amazed that this treatment can be targeted so well.

You seem to have a better DBS result than I had six years ago with a Medtronic wiring and battery. I have that same feeling as you when I pluck guitar strings.

I feel your frustration.....I sometimes can't even keep the bow on my fingerboard when attempting to play my fiddle with my ET. My ET comes and goes, so I never know when it's gonna hit when I'm on stage on the mic! LOL. A girl's gotta keep a sense of humor, right! LOL. Keep up the good work....making music is worth it! <3
