Searching For Lambs by Dikajee and Daughter of the Water
Olya Dikajee and Sarah walked out together one May morning searching for lambs and found them at Collins End, Hardwick Estate, Oxfordshire. A sweet flock of lambs reared by Romilly Swan for their wool and for cuddles.

Mesolithic Song by Daughter of the Water
มุมมอง 362ปีที่แล้ว
Will Attard and Sarah Lambert-Gates work on an archaeological site on the Islay Sound, Western Hebrides. We wrote a song about the dig we supervise (for the University of Reading fieldschool). About the people that lived there 11,000 or so years ago and what life may have been like. The site's focus is a central hearth that was in use for over several thousand years. The chorus is written in a ...

Thanks for a great video. I recently attended a "make a willow obelisk" session which was great....but i love your design more. Youre fab at demonstrating and teaching, thanks
Great video. What diameter did use for the base ?
Are there instructions available to make the turntable jig?
That's so neat. I'd love to attempt making one but unfortunately there are no willow branches available near me. I guess I can check online. Thanks for the tutorial.
beautiful artwork, thanks for sharing the techniques. Now to try and attempt to do this with the vines in my yard 💚
Beautiful rendition. I was watching the original Wicker Man film only the other day !!
You are an excellent teacher..
Super urađeno. Lepo, korisno, praktično za organske vrtove i cvetnjake.
3:40 That's the sound of a bee on the mic! I've recorded bee hives so I know the sound. Always makes me smile 🐝
Lovely ❤
Que bonito trabajo ❤
So beautiful. Thank You for Sharing.
Nice deep male voice accompanying the female singer. All together very relaxing and earthy. Thank you👏🌷
That was actually wonderful. I'm going to have a bash. I wonder if you can use any willow. We have lots already growing around the wetter parts of the farm.
This is amazing. A lot more complex than I was wanting to make for my garden. These are beautiful. Thank you for sharing
Dave, any tips on what to use as a spacer between the two disks of wood on your jig ? I'm thinking of making a couple of jigs for some obelisk weaving workshops
Sarah you have a strong voice a lovely voice. Maybe it's the acoustics but the instrument you play seems to be too loud and muffles your voice. I hope that's a help. I like the words of your song very timely for me❤
Absolutely brilliant
Lovely music for listening, or light house hold jobs, thank you sooo much. x
Thank you both for this wonderful music 🎶
Beautifully calming for the soul, thank you both. x
Beautiful! What would be the equivalent to this willow in the northeast USA?
Do you ever use Hazel as uprights
Such a good video. You are a super teacher Dave. Any chance we could have more detail on the making of a similar jig to your one.
3:40 fly in my ear!
a bee
That was magnificent ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉 thank you very much
❤
My friend, combine your skills with arborsculptural approaches... thank me later ;-)
Very curious about two things: what kind of alternative material would be good for this? Either for recycling purposes or to use a more local material than willow (it's type is ubiquitous but not all species work for this kinda thing)? Thank you so much for your incredibly helpful tutorial. I can't wait to try it myself!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video! From North Alabama, USA
Hi how many uprights did you use and what lengths please .Great video
I was looking for a method of making a straight stick obelisk that looked a little unique. This didn't show me that, but I'll never ignore the location of a willow tree again. What a great way to make a bunch of unique garden goodies. Thanks for taking the time to record it.
Just wonderful work
Очаровательное пение наперегонки с птицами
I will try with bamboo as it’s cheap here! Don’t have willow. I can use a few of these but as mentioned earlier, looks easy but probably not! Beautiful end product! Wish I lived close to you, I’d come by and purchase a few!
A really great instructional video! Thank you very much. I loved learning this
Nice demo. Thanks. The gathering of your materials must take a lot of time and care. I don't have willow here . . . wonder if I could use cattails? Cheers
oh I love sticks. Those are some dandy ones. You said you buy them graded. Where do you buy them? It would be equally fun to gather them. I make small stick furniture for little people I also make. It is just fun to go shopping by the river. The Thames is a lovely river. Your boat looks really fun. The willow chair in the back is really fine. Very large basket for very large people lol a chair? a hanging chair? wow, you sure have one lucky wife. Wish my partner would get keen on sticks. He loves the little chairs, maybe one day he will make a stick thing. fun fun fun thank you for sharing and yes, I will make some small ones for the little people
Великолепная работа. Спасибо за урок. Я тоже попробую это сделать.
I use hazel, freshly set in the ground, a few have rooted. Have you every had that happen?
Remarkable. As someone who tries to do things in the most natural way in my gardens, I would love to make these obelisks and your excellent instruction gives me the confidence to try. One challenge: the rotating base you use to construct them. I am in no way a builder and do not have power tools. Do you have a link or website you could share that sells them? Or if you do build them, would you be willing to sell them? I would absolutely love to buy one. Thank you.
Or is it a boat
Yes it's a dutch barge
It is that a train car in the background
I have so many saplings and I have pole bean seeds the reason I'm here, to put this all together for next year's garden
What an excellent tutorial! Inspires me to make some!
I totally agree with a previous post - that we need to preserve or hand down these techniques. I live in US, and as soon as I saw this video, I looked for something similar (so I didn’t have to do it myself), and was very disappointed that I couldn’t find something similar. Very cheap single strand spiral, some even plastic replicas, but none with the detail seen here. Will definitely be searching further, because these are beautiful ❤❤❤
Forsythia as weavers maybe? Someone else mentioned grapevine.
enjoyed this! such a lovely result...great explanation....inspiring
Impressive!!! 👏👏👏
You explained the whole process so well. Thank you so much.
Thank you!
