2012 - and I've never seen it before. - No comment on the great competence of Orchestra/Conductor and chorus. But in videos like this, particular elements have to be mentioned. First there is the place, seems to be a castle, but the acoustics is excellent. The direction of the camera is brilliant, though the conductor is a bit neglected, players can be seen in full concentration and especially the female singers. It was a good idea to pose the trumpets away from the orchestra, this is often the case in the dramatic version of Tannhäuser. (from Germany, near Cologne where J. Offenbach was born, and not far away Siegburg (birthplace of Engelbert Humperdinck)...not to forget Beethoven (Bonn).

singing in the mask is wrong! the sound is produced in the larynx 95% and not in the nose...she opens the larnx too much, sounds woofy, with knödel, not clear enough...
