Let's address the eleven months that passed between upload #1 and #2. I won't go into details. Suffice it to say, I had to rebuild my gear collection from the ground up. Uploads will be much more frequent now that I am all systems go.
Last time I provided some additional information here in the description. This time I included everything I wanted to say about the game in the intro. I could say so much more but I would only be stepping on future episodes. I hope it's just enough information that a beginner and a historian could both be placed into the story.
My goal for this channel would be to, one day, film real games between real professionals on full size gobans with slate and shell stones on location all over the world. I will be posting other kinds of other go-related videos but for now I will focus on getting some pro games up for your enjoyment.
Soon I will be starting a fundraiser to upgrade my equipment to a Kurokigoishiten goban and slate and shell stones. To check them out, go here. They are not a sponsor but I welcome them to become one.

For now I am using a bamboo table-top board and yunzi stones from Yellow Mountain imports, which is really nice for the price and I'm very happy with it but who doesn't dream of owning some real sea shell white stones? If you would like to see my go equipment upgraded please like, subscribe and say so in the comments. I think the channel will be greatly improved for it. The “tick” of the stones turning to the “tock” of the stones alone will probably make me want to upload twice as often.
Still reading? Thanks!
I am putting out the call for anyone who knows where to find public domain or fair use photographs of professional go players. I have found a few but they are pretty rough looking. The good-looking stuff is harder to get your hands on. I am currently researching and trying to track down photographers who could donate or license photographs of professional go players to me. ASMR pro games are not the only avenue this channel will head down.
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response which refers specifically to the sensation of tingling or goose bumps felt by some in response to certain stimuli. It has become a blanket term for any video of someone who whispers into a microphone and plays with crumpled paper. I am using the term to identify the way in which I recorded the video. I have placed the camera and microphones in such a way as to place the viewer in the room, albeit from an out-of-body experience angle, with the with a coherent stereo image. If you close your eyes you can still tell from which bowl I am grabbing stone and on which side of the board I am placing the stone. This effect can be quite pleasurable and immersive whether or not it gives you tingles on the back of your neck. The specialized placement of the microphones is designed to mimic the human ears and is meant to be listened to with headphones. This video is not truly binaural but future videos may be.
The camera angle is optimized for seeing each move in the game which is the reason I am here and I hope can become part of your reason as well if it is not already.

Go Seigen (W) vs Kitani Minoru (B) - Real Board ASMR
มุมมอง 122K4 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a game of go between legends of the game, Go seigen (White) and Kitani Minoru (Black). Go Seigen is often considered the greatest player of all time. His close friend "The Great" Kitani Minoru was one of the most influential teachers in the recent history. The combined Dan ranking of his students is 300d. Together, starting with their exploration of the Shin Fuseki, they changed the way...
Would love to see some more!
Man, thank you for this work! I subscribed and hope you will be glad to make else similar videos! It's so nostalgic for me - watching and remember the game!
Do i know how to play? No Did i understand at least one move they made? No Did i enjoy every second of it until the end? ABSOLUTELY
One day I will learn Go but for now I'll just stare at the pieces wishing I could eat them
مهره حریف وقتی محاصره میشه حذف میشه
they know each other so well
How gentle between the titans!
Amazing display of a fantastic game. Such a pity that there are no more of these! Even without commentary, the speed at which the stones are laid makes for a very interesting and educational video, since you get to see the reason behind some (I'm not there yet) moves.
Where did you buy this set? Especially the stone?
bro's name is go and he plays go
no need to put them down so damn strong anyway
This, the halo 3 odst soundtrack playing and a thunderstorm rolling through right now. Life's pretty fantastic 👍
Und zwanzig Sekunden drauf Werbung

so ungeschickt er die Steine setzt hat er noch nicht genug eigene Partien gespielt

This board sounds gross 🤢
The idea was simple but great, weed need more chill commentless go videos. I have waited a long time for new videos from here. So long in fact in started to make them myself !
More video please
Uploud more video please
you look very stiff when picking up (thumb is fine) and playing (ring finger and wrist) the stones, please practice and try to play the meaning of the moves
Strange. I might learn from seeing a video in high speed.
Hi.
Any channel with "ASMR" in the title gets an automatic "Do not recommend channel".
You do that buddy. Expect everytime you comment on a video like this it will keep getting recommended more. But yes, it is very very important to first let the world know you don’t like ASMR before moving on
This make my legs go tingly
What confirms that Go Seigen could play today with zero issues, is twofold. 1. The computer AI analysis likes a ton of his moves in fighting positions. 2. He was beating his rivals 70-80% of his matches. His pro competition was almost exclusively 7P to 9P in the 1950's. Such legends as Sakata Eio were defeated 7 games to 2 with one draw in a jubango (10 game match). At the time, Sakata was rated an estimated ELO of 3200 -- 3250, and he lost with the handicap of always taking black against go seigen, with no komi rule by a score of 7-2-1 in that match. This indicated a rating difference of nearly 2 stones (350 to 450 elo difference) between the 2 at that time. I would say that in the 1950's, before the motorcycle accident nerfed his abilities, Go Seigen was playing consistently at 3400 to 3600 ELO. That was so far ahead of his time, it's staggering. He defiantly had matches where he was playing at that level. For everyone who says Go Seigen wouldn't have dominated until the early 2000's with what he knew at that time; Consider what would happen if Go Seigen played against Lee Changho with white and a 6 to 7 point komi..... get wrecked kid!!!
Whats the name of this game? It was curious 😮
Go.
my favorite part of asmr is the constant and disproportionately loud ads
If you use an adblocker you won't see the ads.
1 ad every 2 mins for me....help
I'm so sorry that's happening. I just tried all morning to see if there's anything I could do about it. Unfortunately TH-cam gives me no choice but to let them make all the money off of this video. If you enjoy this kind of content premium or blockers are your only recourse.
😔
you deserve it if you cant figure out how to use an adblocker
thank you for this awesome game and show us historic game, please keep up :) that is something missing
Big Hug and Thanks =)
nice video
Ah perfect. I always wanted a physical board but I hate everyone and can’t stand being around people these days.
Poor baby
Hes me lolol
Gosh what an interesting channel. But no more new videos?
Brilliant concept 🎉
Just getting back in the game. Watching full games is very helpful .
can you please do more games by legendary players?
I've only found this channel recently and have only watched a few of the videos.. are the timing, pauses, and hesitations in placing the stones also mimic the real match?
I haven’t seen the original match but doubt it, the professional matches I’ve watched last hours and towards the beginning sometimes players will take around a minute on each of their moves.
An interesting thought occured to me; what would the worn-out grid lines reveal about the Go-board owner's stome-laying tendency? Surely one would never want one's rivall to see one's old Go board...
Really good quality for 1966
It's a replay
@@JonasThente-ji5xxthanks for clarifying

What a battle. To see such minds go at each other in elegant and fierce ways at the same time. I was on the edge of my seat the whole game. Thank you for sharing this!
@livebythestone540 Please more games. Blessings in the Name of Jesucristo ❤❤❤❤
Why did u stop making videos?
Nice presentation. I would strongly suggest letting the viewer know who won and by how many points, as your link to the game on line doesn’t take you to that actual game and people grow tired of searching when you could’ve simply put the result in at the end, perhaps with a Japanese count so beginners learn.
The results are at the end
SPOILER: result at 35:35
I like that you are giving context to the story. good game
Is this the same Go Seigen who played and mastered Mario Maker and Polybridge? A man of many talents.
So looked like black won.
SPOILER! result at 35:35
These games are so cool. Didn’t get I introduced to this board game until I started watching Hikaru no go 🤓
I didn’t know he played go.
Don’t even know what this is but i am now a dad
Thanks a lot! This is a beautiful pace, even for a novice player like myself to follow without getting bored for a moment. Many moves are very logical and flow from the game. It was also very exciting, it turned out to last more than half an hour...I didn't notice until the end. also nice: the wooden board and just stones ..nothing to divert our attention
