Blessed are they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. When the prodigal son was hungry, he went to feed on the husks, but when he was starving, he went to his Father. Yes, that's what Jesus is talking about, the kind of desperation that only God can satisfy. Not until people hunger and thirst after righteousyness do they seek the fulfillment that God can give.
JOHN 19:7 “We have a law,” answered the Jews, “and according to that law He must die, because He declared Himself to be the Son of God.” -- Berean Standard Bible * Jesus declared himself to be the (SON OF GOD). -- Not God !!
You gotta watch out for those Micahs
People assume that God will bless America if America becomes moral. God doesn't bless morality any more than He would bless immorality. The only way you escape judgment is not by morality. Morality apart from godliness is the devil's morality. "If anyone does not love the Lord, he is [cursed]." Our mission in the world is to introduce the world to Christ, not to biblical morality. When Christians get caught up in politics, they look at the people of opposing political and social viewpoints as the enemy rather than the mission field. You don't want to turn the sinners into the enemy; they are the mission field, and we're the missionaries, and the gospel is our message.
If there was any possible way to lose salvation, I would lose it. If it was possible to disqualify myself from salvation, I would get disqualified. I can't save myself and I can't keep myself saved. I can't be righteous enough to save myself and neither can you, and I can't be righteous enough to keep myself saved. God's going to have to save me by grace; He's going to have to keep by grace. He's going to have to save me by His power, power of the Holy Spirit, regeneration; He's going to have to keep me by His power, the Holy Spirit's power of protection, to the end - and that's the promise of God.
Awesome message pastor
The world can't really handle somebody who's poor in spirit because the world lives in a state of pride, in a state of self-promotion and ego-substantiation. The world can't tolerate somebody who is mourning over sinfulness. The world wants to bypass sin altogether and continue to convince itself that it's all right. The world can't tolerate meekness; it honors pride, and the world can't tolerate somebody who knows he's nothing and seeks something that can only be given as a gift. The world says that we have the right to everything because we've earned it. The world knows little about mercy, the world knows nothing about purity, and the world has never learned how to make peace.
Blessed are they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. 16:00 Chapter 2
Do I need to repent of my sins in order to be saved?
Hi Paul! Repentance and faith are inseparable. The one who repents of his sin is also placing faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ to save him from his sins. The one who believes is also repenting of his dead sins and "righteousnesses [which] are as filthy rags" before God (Isa. 64:6). No meritous good works are necessary or able to secure salvation, "for by grace are [we] saved through faith." (Eph. 2:8,9) However, one must certainly be minded to turn away (repent) from the life of sin that is leading him to hell (Isa. 55:7), and turned towards saving faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, trusting Him alone for salvation (Rom. 10:9). Put another way, you may not remember every sin you've done in your life, but if you realize that those sins have made you a sinner deserving of hell, you can simply repent by acknowledging that fact in your heart, and believing with that same sincerity of heart that Jesus died for you, shedding His blood to forgive every sin that you have done. The Holy Spirit will give you the power to overcome your sins and live a clean, holy life after you get saved. See our website for God's Simple Plan of Salvation: www.fbcmargate.com/the-way-to-heaven
I was afraid you would say that. If repenting of sins is the only way for me to be saved then I’m doomed to Hell. I have tried as hard as I can to not sin many times and to this day but it almost seems like the harder I try I will eventually keep failing. It basically comes down to I’m a wicked selfish person. I absolutely agree with God with everything he says about what is right and what is wrong is true and reasonable for him to ask me to do. The problem is I can’t do it. I’ll pray to God please make me not sin but I still do. I have a problem with lust(if I see a beautiful woman I will think about her)and anger and also unforgiveness. Sometimes I’m not honest and tell white lies. Sometimes I enjoy talking about other people behind their backs. The list goes on… Even if I get the “big” sins handled I will start doing “smaller” sins. I will never feel peace. I will never feel secure about my salvation because if I sin I’m no longer saved till I stop sinning. Or maybe I’m not truly saved to begin with because I keep sinning every day. Every time I sin I prove that I’m more important than God. I wish God would just have mercy on me a sinner. I wish he would accept me and save me the way I am a sinner.
I read your simple plan of salvation you provided in the link. It sounded great. It didn’t say I had to repent of my sins in order to be saved. In fact it said and I quote “This repentance is a change of mind that agrees with God that one is a sinner, and also agrees with what Jesus did for us on the Cross.” I totally agree that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself and I agree that what Jesus did for me was shed his blood as payment for all my sins died and rose from the dead three days later. He is the Son of God and he is God and so is the Holy Spirit and the Father. I believe in the trinity although I don’t fully understand at the same time. I believe it because the Bible says it’s true. Do I have to repent of my sins in order to be saved or do I have to agree with God I’m a sinner and trust in Jesus Christ alone for my salvation. Because the later sounds like great news and repenting of all my sins sounds like I’m eternally condemned and not truly “believing”. This is confusing
@@paulkmaster3231 Paul, there's a misunderstanding. Let me first, copy and paste the summary that was in my original response to explain: "Put another way, you may not remember every sin you've done in your life, but if you realize that those sins have made you a sinner deserving of hell, you can simply repent by acknowledging that fact in your heart, and believing with that same sincerity of heart that Jesus died for you, shedding His blood to forgive every sin that you have done. The Holy Spirit will give you the power to overcome your sins and live a clean, holy life after you get saved." Nowhere in my response was I defining repentance as "stop sinning first, and then believe on Jesus." Repentance is not an action where you stop sinning before believing on Jesus. Rather, God's Simple Plan is correct: Repentance is a change of mind. Repentance is a mental action. Your change of mind will lead to a change of heart, which leads to a change in life. This is what was meant by this portion of my response: "However, one must certainly be minded to turn away (repent) from the life of sin that is leading him to hell (Isa. 55:7)" Being minded to leave your sin behind isn't the same thing as physically stopping yourself from sin. You can't do that. You're absolutely right, and you're fighting a losing battle on your own. You can't stop sinning, only Jesus can save you. You can only agree with the Bible about your sinful condition, and believe in your mind and heart that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross covered your sins, giving you forgiveness and eternal life. The changed life comes after salvation (2 Corinthians 5:17). Secondly, it sounds like you're on the doorstep of faith, but you're letting a misunderstanding of repentance keep you. You understand that you are lost, so all you need to do is believe! Don't be confused, repenting is one part of the wonderful news of "grace through faith," because that simply means to change your mind to believing the gospel with your heart. Turn away from sin by turning to faith in Jesus. Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead to save you from your sins. Call on the name of the Lord to save you (Romans 10:13). It is by grace through faith that you are saved, not by the work of making a laundry list of sins and trying to stop doing them and "cleaning yourself up" before coming to Jesus. Take heart and have faith in Jesus! We are praying for you and your salvation. Don't hesitate to use our contact form on our website, or give us a call!

And all of these characteristics, when they exist in the believer, as they progressively bloom within his or her life, counter the system flagrantly. And that's the way it is going to be if you live out the Beatitudes.
In Genesis 6:5 As God looks at the pre-flood civilization He says, "Every imagination of the thoughts of man’s heart was only evil continually." The heart is the thinking, the seat of behavior. From it come the issues of life. "For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies, and these are the things which defile a man. But to eat with unwashed hands" - that's no big deal at all. He was coming right at the Pharisees. "You make such a big deal out of ceremonial washing, and what God is concerned about is the heart."
Blessed are they who do hunger and thirst after righteousness for they shall be filled. When the prodigal son was hungry, he went to feed on the husks, but when he was starving, he went to his Father. Yes, that's what Jesus is talking about, the kind of desperation that only God can satisfy. Not until people hunger and thirst after righteousness do they seek the fulfillment that God can give.

Thank God for pastors like Bill Gorman who preach without fear and uncompromise. I have been attending Faith baptist church for the past month .
Pastor you are absolutely right. Too many Christians copy the world.
Preach! Great job Bro. Lino!
Great sermon. Most Pastors are afraid to speak out for fear of losing heathens they are trying to convert.
I can attest to being Jewish and being shunned and ridiculed by my family. Its been 28 years. My husbands Catholic family also rejected me and was angered when I was saved and took their son, brother away from the faith he grew up with, which included worshipping Mary. (He is from the carribean-an island where almost all are Catholic. It took 25 years for him to stop defending his families religion and begin to understand the gospel. Still not sure he is saved. My life did not become easier as a believer. The battle began and never ended. If it were not for my Messiah and deliverer, I wouldn’t be able to endure this battle. All glory to God. The Rabbi’s say Isaiah 53 is talking about the nation of Israel and not a “person” Do you know that at Temple Kol Ami, they have Tenach that actually have omitted Isaiah 53? I know bc my son attended preschool there 25 years ago. Thats the place on Royal Palm not far from where your church is. Any Jew who I have ever shared Jesus with, has never been interested and has avoided me. Maybe pretended to be interested. Hope they found him. I am on the fence about election bc it is the only answer I have to why Jews still reject Jesus. God did say he has blinded them…and prevented them UNTIL the fullness of the Gentiles. So I have to believe that. As far as Isiah 53 They also do not read it at Shabbat during the Torah/haftorah readings. It’s omitted..
Cognitive dissonance is a soul killer Like I tell my 5 year old grandson "You have to lie to yourself before you can lie to anybody else."
