I'm Taking The Fury On A Road Trip - What Do You Wanna See?
Michigan is honestly one of the most beautiful places on the whole planet. Thanks for the video.
Sounds good. Still pleased with this? Or did you move on from the Bob?
I’m in Michigan too bud… Just bought a 2021 Honda Goldwing a few-weeks back. Let me know if you ever would like some company. You seem to have a good head on your shoulders.
Greetings from Sagnasty! love the vids.
I feel bad, mine has been neglected since I've gotten my road king.
I am 62 years old. I can tell you, that noone can take your experiences away! Keep simple things simple! Enjoy life!
Those are 2 great points for sure. Those 6 1/2 hours alone from yesterday's ride and videos were some of the best of my week. It's basically the ONLY time in my life I have no one around me or no task before me... ive ridden for 4 decades now... I think I always appreciated being on the bike alone on bike trips and rides, but as I get older it is just about imperative to me to carve out that alone time! BTW, a Honda dealer about an hour away has posted up a used fury that tempted me - from your vids!😂 so far... ive resisted the sirens' call. 😎
I want to ride from Ohio to Paradise, MI on my bike before I'm 50 (got a couple of years). Have you ever had to ride across the steel grates due to lane closures or whatever? That's a big fear for me. 😄
I have, and thankfully, maybe for a combined 60 seconds. 😅
I am from Germany and have made different trip across the USA on Harleys. I wish, i could repat them on my Fury!
Scenic byway 12 "Hogback" !
What state you in bro ? And nice bike I watch a lot of your. Videos
I'm in michiagn! Where winter last 9 months out of the year!
Recently got a sidecar rig. Now I ride with my dog. So far that is the best riding I've done
I am not qualified to give medical advice, but riding lifts my spirits usually.
I started riding this year (wish I'd been able to start it long ago), and learned that it not only helps with my adult ADHD, it has helped hugely with my stress levels around work and life in general. If I'm on that bike, the world can collectively F off - this is my time. I shut off notifications for everything on my phone so I'm not interrupted. Riding has also helped with the continuing processing/healing from a childhood story where the only "family member" who was trustworthy was the dog. Even a 15 minute ride is helpful, though more seat time is preferred. I mostly ride alone, and that's 100% ok. Unless there is snow or ice on the ground, I'm riding - it's too beneficial not to. I have 4 season gear and thankfully so far, we have had very little winter weather this year. I think I drove my car maybe 6 times this year between May and November.
I've started to notice that I have tendency to wanna "escape" from uncomfortable or sad situations in my life. Having recently been going through some mentally taxing ordeals, I bought my first motorcycle, New-to-me Yamaha R7, in mid-october. I quickly noticed that the ability to hop on the bike and go for a ride to clear my head has been extremely addictive as a method of "dealing with" my emotions. However; I also recognize that my frustrations tend to be taken out on the throttle. I know that this is not the healthy or safe way of doing things so I'd be interested in learning how you or anyone reading deal with loss, stress, frustration, etc. when riding and especially when not being able to ride. Other times when I'm feeling depressed or sad I'll go on slower nighttime cruises and proceed to drive until I am completely lost. This isn't necessarily a new behavior but, I'm sure their are better ways. Genuinely sorry to hear of your loss, Esoteric Rider. I'm sure that our guardian angels are smiling on us daily!
it's what non riders call mindfulness, when you ride, your concentration levels are very high, which makes you concentrate on that moment more than any other problems, which in turn helps you process other feelings in a more positive way without your mind wandering off into too much grief. it wont work with a car, because driving a car is mostly auto pilot, when my mum died, i was sobbing my heart out, even when driving, but that didn't happen when i was riding because of the concentration levels you need just to stay balanced.. i think there is more to it than that, like releasing feel good chemicals in your brain and so on, which helps you cope with bad stuff better, but that's the jist of it.
It has helped me so much when I'm riding... yes I ride daily in all weather rain or shine... but i lost my daughter in September of 2021 and my mom January of 2022....I started riding because honestly I wanted it to be my "accidental" way out but instead it has saved me and gave me a therapeutic way of living my life in remembering them and to keep going...now I have my fiance who I grew up with and she always saw my mom as her second mom. But her and her daughter have given me a joy that I thought I had lost and now I still ride for the peace and happiness I feel every time the motor comes to life...and I can't express just how much riding a bike has changed my life and started me down the path I'm on now and gave me a new direction in life to pursue.
beautiful video
There's something about riding a motorcycle that reminds me of taking ice baths. You are instantly put "in the moment", exposed to the elements. It doesn't perfectly make sense... but that's what it reminds me of. Riding to work in the morning... I feel better than when I drive my car. I used to take long drives or showers when facing hard times... but I find the motorcycle is more effective. You don't get a choice on the motorcycle. You have to live in the present. The weather especially.
That feeling of flying that we get when riding motorcycles has a positive effect on our overall happiness and mental wellbeing, so it makes sense that it helps to ease trauma too.
Well ~ there is less drama riding alone.
Yes and no. I will say therapy and a history of antidepressant didn't really help, but the moment I found a bike and started making friends my life changed for the better. I still had my sad days, but for the most part riding bests the hell out of playing video games at home and wasting away.
My wife has Leukemia. Se has recently had a stroke. Only riding my bike has helped to save my sanity.
Prayers to you and your wife my friend!!
@@EsotericRider Many thanks.
And prayers from me in Sydney Australia.
@@GordonBrown-v3c Thank you, I do appreciate it.
Hang in there my friend. 2022 kicked the twig n berries for this guy. Still dealing some of it to be honest. Heb 11:1
Been watching for a couple months love the vlogs! I have a very similar experience with my best friend of 14 years took his own life while we were in college. Same kinda relationship closer than friends we were brothers. He passed away 2 years ago as well. I don’t ride motorcycles YET so I don’t have that “escape” I find people submerge themselves in the “what ifs” of the situation rather than focusing on experiencing life as it goes on. It definitely keeps you back in time replaying memories and it’s hard to move on. We deal with it similarly, I like to meditate and spend time just out on the front porch smoking one up and watching the birds and the trees. Also spending time with shared friends or family helps. Relating to the people who also lost that same person, you’re not alone. Love the vlogs man keep em up ❤
Yep, she's ridin' with you now bud.
Bro love your videos. Keep making riding videos and discuss topics like mental health , money, relationship. And Congratulations to you, Donald Trump came back to office, will make America great again. Love from India 🇮🇳
Your videos are the iphone of youtube. Always waiting for the next. American Suburb is so beautiful. Love from India 🇮🇳.
In the beginning, it feels impossible to distract yourself enough to forget. You’ll cry, and you’ll have to face that pain head-on. But you keep going, day by day, until you reach a place where you truly accept that they’re gone. Really gone. My uncle, my dog... RIP
Does the riding help; yes. The return from the ride; no.
I'm a lone Wolf. I like to stop when I want. I like to feel real freedom on the road solo. I was a truck driver for many years so maybe that's why?
The only bad thing about going alone is that no one has your back if something goes wrong. Besides, I also love solo rides
Why would you ride in a group? Do you drive in a group when you're in your car? It's very nice to have your spouse riding pillion but group rides can be scary.
Something about riding a motorcycle is freeing and the breeze that hits you clears your mind and you get to ride around without a care in the world. Last thing I want is for someone yapping in my ear about shit I don't care about while I'm trying to relax. It's like asking 'would you prefer to sit alone or next to a screaming baby on a plane?'
I used to ride with all the bogans from where I worked, etc... now im all alone. I love it. I hate riding at certain persons pace. Ive ridden for 17 years. since 2004ish. Been all over. Always had the issue of being the fast one or the "caretaker". Id rather not have to worry about others.
Motorcycles are normally for people who like to feel free and honestly MC's have way too many fucking rules. Riding clubs or a group of friends that love bikes might be ok but a huge problem for me is all the flexing
I prefer alone i ride and stop when i want to and dont have some idiot showing off to put up with
Very well articulated and not much to add. I've been a "lone wolf" or whatever it's called while running, cycling (i.e. peddle power), and especially motorcycling my whole life. I cherish the solitude and harmony, as you expressed. The last thing I want is a bunch of other men yacking away during stops and even during the experience. It comes down to personality traits.
Riding alone is easier.
It depends. I'll ride with my wife, daughter or my mom but nobody else. I don't like riding with people I don't know or don't trust.
In my younger days I rode all over with others but one by one we drifted apart or gave up riding, myself included for a while. But now I am back on two wheels I find it is much safer and less stressful to ride alone, and that includes when I am cycling too.
Riding alone is better than in a group. I mean, let's respect other road users.
I often ride alone, but when I ride with friends, we always end up getting separated due to traffic 😂
It's the worst feeling, it's like a 60 second breakup 💔 😢
I ride alone as it is my therapy. That does not mean I am anti-social, because people will come up to talk about the bike or motorcycling in general. That gives you the opportunity to connect with someone who is trying to make that decision to ride. Ride safely.
I really really miss riding. 😢
At the moment solo, but in 2025 I plan on branching out to test the waters.
Myself sometime it's cool to by yourself. But at times it's nice to ride with people
