Jeepers you have to own a particularly well-calibrated set of hands in order to hand-grind the gears into perfect shape. They need to be ground to within a thousandth of an inch or so relative to the other teeth and polished very smooth. You also need to put the ground gears through a case-hardening process-- several hours buried in orange-hot coal powder. Otherwise the gears are not going to last more than a week or two. You also have to adjust the end-play with some shims. Good luck.

Repair? All they did was heat up and anneal the axle, bend it back a teensy bit, didn't use a micrometer to check their work, didn't harden the axle in the end, and reinstalled the axle, without checking the tooth clearances or preloading. A pretty marginal job in every way.

this is the "certified aftermarket" facility your cheap remanufactured parts came from.

I can see how you take a medium duty truck and make the chassis and springs heavy duty, but the axles are still medium duty. That is why the axles break as often as they do. They are the weakest link.
