We LOVE hearing our father, Elvin Jones, on this gorgeous recording!
❤
Art was a fantastic saxophone player and jazz musician! “Art Pepper + 11” is also a classic. As is “Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section.
IncredibleRecording clarity on the cymbalsEspecially given the age of this recording
Art Peppers was a fabulous jazz artist and altoist. His album,”Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section.” Is a classic.
Hear hear!
This stuff cooks!
Just found it's way to my feed. AWESOME!
We've never felt bad..wrong after our 'dates'..But once..I didnt know what happened to her..but it was delicate..we almost revealed uncovered the secret cuz desire became enormously strong. but we ..in such circumstances stayed strong ..briefly sent warning to each other..being so close and like across 7 oceans..She rapidly changed her look couple years later...and sure I touched her gently watching her beautiful face close to mine..though we were not so safe. Each moment somebody might be there where we were...The need we felt always leaded us to completely destroyed life..If someone could believe me we used to make such magic that noone could even suppose to suppose we were close..nobody could..Among hundreds of very very pretty women she was the brightest with all of her beauty charm and me in her heart 🤔 and I wasnt watching only her...Of course it was only in my head ..she wasnt thinking so and feeling. It wasnt even funny to her..she had no mercy for such 'Cavaliers ".trippy and lost..But I didnt care..Why should've we threw away our love because of someone like me...🥰
Canzoni stupende, w il jazz ❤
Brilliant classic music
of course Bird was nonpareil and probably more sophisticated in many ways than Sonny, but just listen to that doubletime on "Lose You." mighty mighty close.
why do I (sometimes) like him better than Bird even though as you can hear he's channeling Bird - Iknow it's heresy but Sonny had a certain just extra hint of swank and swagger
Stan deviated from his usual style. Reminds me of Dexter Gordon.
Спасибо создателю этого замечательного канала за знакомство с такими потрясающими музыкантами.
NICE SOUND NATURAl LY MY SOULE AND BODY MAKE SWING.I SING WITH BIG.SOW HAPPY. THANKS LOTS OF LOVE.
Only Chalie Parker is better alto saxophonist than Art Pepper. He is a genius!
Elvin's energy (Elvin being Elvin) seems to have overwhelmed Stan a little in what may have been the first track or two. But further into the album, Stan rises to the occasion and plays quite powerfully to meet and utilize Elvin's energy. Maybe not the most intuitive matchup, but it produced a successful album imo.
That whole screwing around with Black Eyes, reminds me of some of the goofing around the Beatles did. Great to get that on tape somewhere.
Art Pepper - alto saxophone Russ Freeman - piano Ben Tucker - bass Chuck Flores - drums
Art Farmer is always beautiful, thanks so much for the upload
Haha, that last track!
love the vinyl sound !
Good stuff.
Smooth, balanced euforia - jazz as its best,
Getz was out of his depth, with Elvin Jones.
McCoy Tyner Plays Ellington was recorded in December 1964 and released on the Impulse! label in 1965. It features performances by Tyner with his John Coltrane bandmates: bassist Jimmy Garrison and drummer Elvin Jones. Percussionists Willie Rodriguez and Johnny Pacheco appear on four of the tracks.

Fantastic piano. Great drums. Terrific bass. What a tune!
アップ有難うございます。入手困難な音源なので聴けて嬉しいです。
ご丁寧にありがとうございます
”踊り子”は音がいいですね。 とても60年以上前の録音とは思えません。
The recording must have been good, since it was 65 years ago. The jacket featuring the two dancers reading Down Beat magazine is also excellent.
Very nice.I owned this record years ago.Nice to hear it again.
ありがとうございます😆💕✨😅

Hey That was Lee Konitz on alto but who are drummer and bassist.?
sonny was so fine and somewhat underrated
pure magic
What's the song at 6:52, please?
